I may sound repetitive again... every perspective is right and every perspective is wrong. It's all about an individual's choice. Some people say, " I Love You" is the most over-rated thing.
I am not sure if I am getting the sequence right but in a relationship:
A boy and A girl meet -- get to know each know -- like to spend time together and feel that there is something special about the girl/guy -- fall in love -- Say I Love you -- Propose + Commit -- get married -- and a completely new circle starts.
The proposal for you did not work because you think, their love is special kind of love bordering divinity and enough is said to show they are committed. But, isn't it a special feeling, to see the guy go down on his knees and pop-up the question even though it's the done deal.
Why deprive these two and not let them enjoy the different phases of love. Each phase has its own charm and special value even if it's meeting and love of soul mates.
