Hello Friends,

Its weekend...no new episodes...My instinct to write on the forum pulled me to make this post. Hope we can extract a thought provoking conclusion!

Well the topic of the post might be confusing but it rhymes😆 so I kept it! Ok so what is the 'Magic'...and what is 'Tragic'

Magic is the world of BT serials! this is a world which we have loved....This magical world has produced not just actors but stars! not just stories but Lives! Look around in the tellyworld and the biggest percentage of famous names have been churned out of the factory called Balaji....Its addictive, entertaining, and mesmerizing! Its a part of our lives!

Tragic is the world of BT serials! (yet again) this is the world we have hated....This world has ruined the characters by making them do wierd things, has shown sheer negativity in its stories! Look around at the tellyshows and the biggest percentage of illogical and meaningless shows have been churned out of the factory called Balaji....Its frustrating, boring, and repititive! Its still a part of our lives though!

This is nothing new....we all know this....we knew this before we started watching KMH....we still know this....deep down in the bottom of our hearts! we are hiding it....we don't mention it....we dont want to face the reality!

Who is to Blame?

Is it BT??? Well I have a different take on that😊 and that is where the discussion starts!

This month saw the closure of a couple of NDTV Imagine shows....I have never watched any so cannot discuss a lot on how they were but apparently a few were good....What did the fans do? They shouted, cried, begged, signed petitions and what not😊 They wanted the shows to continue....some of them might still be angry but just ask tem and they will say one thing in common "It was such a good show and they took it off"....So what is the word of mouth 😆 "It was such a good show"......and now talk to a person who is watching a serial which has been running for 5 years...I am an active member of Kasam Se forum...people are saying "We dont want to watch this storyline, its boring, its pathetic..." so on and so forth.....

Now I dont blame BT cuz they listen to us...they continue the shows.....we say that na....they do it😊 we should be happy....why are we shouting than....BUT we forget that every story has to end....it cannot evolve with the same quality or better for 10 years!

I think that a show should end on a note when people admit that it went off air at its peak with a strong impactful ending!

So lets contemplate....is it us who force the production houses to churn out the low quality shows? I just wish KMH does not fall into that bracket...atleast once I would like a BT show to complete its run with dignity...I dont mean that it ends of in some months....but I do mean that it should come to a decent end when the creatives are out of interesting ideas (like what they have now) ....

atleast I am happy with good memories rather than poor but new work!

Your comments!

sorry if this was painful to any body!

The problem is we all want a great story, a good start, the suspense builds up there are some obstacles, but then there is a finality a happy ending with the couple together and we are satisfied and we as the audience feels it is time to end it.
But if you look at it from the production house POV, they never want anything to end because they put a lot of investment in a show in terms of characters, sets and story development. To stop something that is established and start a new show all over again with new people takes so much energy and effort. So they do the miserable thing of going on and on, putting more ridiculous plots till we want to pull our hair out and the show reaches the gutter. Then when there is no money to be made they stop the show.
See that is the big difference audience see from the prespective of characters we love that are part of a story that becomes real for us so we want all happy stuff. But production houses, the channel, and even actors themselves I think see more the profit, how they can prolong their fame, career. That is why there are these clashing opinions we will have shows that continue far past their prime, and shows that should be good dont because they didnt get the initial fame so are not given the chance.

^Thanks for throwing light on the alternative! This is also an opinion on why good shows are ruined and I also agree to this as well....Its just that both parties (users and the prod house) have to change their perspectives....we dont have to ask for more when there is nothing left and the prod people dont have to think monetarily about something which is more than a routine for its viewers...

I enjoyed reading ur opinions!

very true. They are not always to blame. I mean shows like kahani and kyunki just had to end. They were great at 1st first but after a while the stories really get boring.

Yes very true thanks for mentioning that, we also sometimes don't know when to call it quits. We also get too obsessed with the characters, every story does have to come to an end. Maybe if we make that clear then soaps will end sooner. LOL

i agree wit both of u ..........i think for a gud show they shud know the end of teh story!!
u start a story ......u hav several parallel tracks in it.......awesum defination of charcters............the relationships shown between them appears real.....but thts the start .....we as a viewers luv the start as it is planned and defined properly...........thye think about the plot and then they go o n wit it ..........but the problem cums after tht.....cuz after the start the things r not planned!! as all r daily soaps they have their deadlines to meet!! so sumtimes track cums out nicely , sumtimes or i m uss say many a times it cums out crap cuz they dun get time to plan or decide the trck properly so they end up wit repetative tracks .........or the most illogical ones!!
if they strt a show witha whole story in hand .....knowing how many episodes the story cud go .....i think tht wud turn out a great show frm strt til l end!! so according to me ...planning of teh whole show rather than just a start is very important!! i think a show shud go on for maxx 1 yr - 11/2 yrs .............with the intact story!
my second reasoning for quality of the show getting degraded is since we strted getting daily soaps!! previously when all the shows used to b weekly...........we had sum awesum shows frm beginning till end as they used to get time to think bout how to take a show further! today they dun get tht time and they show us any crap juss cuz they hav to show us sumthing everyday!! even actors hav their prsonal life , their own priorities ......giving 18 hrs per day is not any easy task....even they r humans!! and sumtimes when they r not available BD r used or they change the complete track or the ychange the actors only!! making it more stupid and irritating!!
so my bottomline is ....the prob of shows getting bad and their drgrading quality is not only tht thy r long running but also tht they r shown daily!!

Yeah imagine KMH being shown once a week. I think many a people on this forum would have cardiac arrests. LOL I think in all honesty desperation to see the story continue is too much these days. I think we have gotten into this bad habit. Maybe we are too spoiled now, It should have always been once a week, and one hour show would have been best. I agree with you completely about the actors, I wonder how they do it must be exhausting and that if why later on there are BDs, the quality of acting goes down and everything is so secong grade.
And I completely agreee with you on the timeline max 2 years for any show after that they should be forced to stop because after that rarely there is anything good to watch.
I remember when I was a kid. My mum used to watch Dastaan. I used to watch it with her it was bestest show in the whole wide world. But they did the tragic thing of continuing it when its golden days were over and it turned into total garbage.

@Bugger: interesting ideas once again😊 I have gotten some excellent responses to this thread of mine.....me 😃

I agree with you completely! planning is one thing that the shows don't have...its so true...its good in the beginning cuz they start of with some bit of a plan....but than cannot meet up with the pace and that is where the problem starts!

about the daily shows and the cardiac arrest theory by maragathm😆 was very funny yet very very true! I mean the charm of having a weekly show is also precious! I know even I complain these days when i dont have KMH on the weekends but they have made us like this....they spoil us with something extremely likable and than ruin everything in front of us and we can't do anything about it!

having said that with KMH things are different slightly! if you watch the initial promos (with other people) there is a wqhole theme to the show which ofcourse will take time to unfold and it seems that they atleast have a planned plot for that.....Although this time they have taken a tragic plot....but that is ok as far as its engrossing and does not face a tragedy of being a typical BT long running show!

NDTV has shown some consistency with bringing its shows to end when they were being liked! I hope they play a part and keep up with the shows till they make sense and therefore leave with us an experince we will cherish for a long time....

This does not conclude the discussion thoigh...I woul d like to hear a lot more!😉

i totally agree wiv all u guys ... ekta and her shows hav us hooked ... her shows just hav a magic which clicks wiv viewers ... i feel every other show we just watch but don't kind of connect wiv it ...
we have gotten into a pattern dat if we don't watch a show regularly we become anxious and irritated blaming the production houses the channel and wat not ... but the beauty of anythin is patience ... we should let the show unfold ... earlier tv shows used to be once a week and the whole family used to gather around to watch it ... but now everythin is so competitve dat everythin has to be done accordingly ... so far KMH seems to be going steady where everythinh makes sense so far and there also seems scope to continue the story for another couple of years ... but i do hope they don't drag it for years and years to come and make it unbearable to watch ... also i think ekta has done a good thing starting this shoe on NDTV becasue they seem to have a say in the running of the shows ... sorry to say like SP wer ekta did as she pleased because the channel was wholly dependant on her shows ... i look forward to watching this show

Whatever happens on this show. I just wish arjun-arohi always remain as pure and good as they are now and arjun-salil relationship remains as great as its today. I just wish they dont make any of these three characters go evil not even for a second. Thats all I need to continue watch this show. All the scenes between arjun-salil are so great and some of arjun-arohi scenes are the best. I wish they continue it till the show ends.
