I love Rashi-Love too...

In that scene where Rashi silenced Arjun by calling up Love and saying Raj's wish... Would have loved to see Arjun's shakal in that scene...

Part 13

Arjun stopped. He was walking too fast.

Taking a deep breath, he started walking again. He stopped again. Now he was walking too slow.

Closing his eyes in frustration, he told his inner voice to shut up and started striding towards the entrance. Rashi had said that they would be waiting for him in the lobby. Did "they" mean Arohi too? But his cunning sister had cut the phone off before he could ask her that. He had no choice but to go there and find out.

+

"Nahi mom. Park hum shaam ko jaayenge. Abhi bohat dhoop hai, mein tan ho jaunga, aur baki bachhe bhi shaam ko ayenge. Abhi hum bowling karne jaayenge, usske baad lunch, fir ice cream, aur fir park." Raj finished smiling at his mom.

Arohi chuckled. She missed this little fireball. He knew what he wanted and Arohi had all the intentions of giving it to him.

"Ok champ. Toh ab hum pehle bowling karenge. Lekin Raj woh bowling balls bohat heavy hote hain, tum utha paaoge?"

"Mom… Mein roj doodh pita hoon. Mujhe undertaker jo banna hai. Woh balls kya, mein toh aapko bhi utha sakta hu. Dekhe mere muscles???" Raj flexed his muscles and showed his folded hand to Arohi.

"Ok baba. Sorry mere jr undertaker… jo maine aapki strength pe shak kiya. Ab chale???"

Entering the building, Raj stopped and pulled her hand. Arohi turned back to look at him questioningly.

"Woh mujhe thodi bhook lagi hai. Aur wahan pe kuch khaane ko nahi milega. Toh can I have a chocolate? Please?"

"Thik hai. Tum yahi ruko. Mein abhi ek chocolate leke aati hu." Arohi walked away to the shops to get some chocolates.

When she returned 5 mins later, Raj was staring at the door and looking around, as if expecting someone. Didn't he see her go in the other direction? Shaking the thought from her mind, she walked up to him.

"Ye rahi tumhari chocolate. Ab chalein?"

Raj hung his head dejected as Arohi held his hand and turned him towards the elevators.

"Phirse mujhe chodke jaa rahi ho???" Arjuns cool composed sarcastic voice froze Arohi on the spot.

She turned around to see her handsome husband standing tall, wearing a white shirt, blue denims, a brown corduroy sports jacket and his favourite smirk on his face.

+

Arjun had halted at the entrance. He saw Raj standing in the middle of the looby, looking around. Alone.

Where was Arohi? Did she refuse to come? Because of him? How could she?

No! Arohi would never leave this opportunity to meet Raj, and it was his birthday. She would not hurt him. So then where was she? Was she coming a little late? Dammit! He had wanted to go late and take HER by surprise. So that he can see her before she saw him, and appreciate… Matlab analyse her expressions. He had wanted that edge. How she was before he walked into the picture. The same way he had seen her in the mall, in the white dress, looking like a princess, smiling her gorgeous smile in the mirror. So much for planning Mr Sighania!!! Looks like your wife is two steps ahead of you. Irritation started gnawing at his nerves when he started to take a step in Raj's direction. And then he saw her.

She was wearing a white kurta and red chudidar. Again white?!!! Is she doing this on purpose? Did she know that he finds her irresistible in white? That he had the best memories of her in white. The first night in the cottage, the photoshoot, second night in cottage when she tried to seduce him, her birthday, that day at the mall…

Well… bid geal! He would show her, how unaffected he was. As he started walking towards them, he saw her turn Raj around, away from him. He picked up his pace.

+

"You're late dad." Arjun broke his eyelock with Arohi to see his son scowl at him.

"Sorry junior. Thoda kaam tha office mein isliye late hogaya." His gaze flickered towards Arohi as he saw her eyes go from being shocked, to surprised, to being soft, then nervous and then looking around, feigning indifference. It looked as if she did not know that he was coming? So he DID have the edge! He had spent last night thinking his strategy and expressions whereas she was taken by surprise. Cool. He sent Lovedeep a mental flying kiss for this.

"Its ok. Lets go." Taking Arjun's hand in his other free hand, Raj started pulling both of them towards the elevators.

Arjun and Arohi looked at each other, waiting for the other to break the silence.

Raj and Arohi waited near one of the empty lanes as Arjun went to the counter to make the payments. Raj was blabbering continuously, telling her about his past bowling experiences, but Arohi's was not hearing a single word. Internally she was shivering in anticipation. Why hadn't bua told her that Arjun would be joining them too? And looking at Raj's and Arjun's reaction it looked like they were very much aware of the situation. So she was the only one kept in the dark? Why? Arohi frowned looking at Arjuns fabulous jacket covered back, as he leaned on the counter and spoke to the girl cashier, who looked completely smitten by him.

Arohi rolled her eyes. 'Jaha ladki dekhi nahi waha shuru ho gaya! Cheap ganda aadmi.'

"Mooommm…" Raj's bored cry brought back Arohi to reality. "Dad ko itna time kyu lagraha hai???" Raj complained with a cute pout.

"Mein abhi dekhke aati hu beta." Standing up in determination, Arohi marched towards the counter, as Raj slowly smiled at what lay ahead.

Arjun was inquiring about the details of the flooring used especially for bowling, when he felt a hand snake around his own and grip his upper arm. He looked sideways at the hand and trailed his eyes to its owner. Arohi was smiling at the girl attendant as she stuck to Arjuns side and asked in her extra sweet honey voice "Is there a problem? You see today is my son's birthday and his FATHER is taking too long at the counter, so hes getting cranky. Aur kitna time lagega???"

Arohi's extra wide smile and anger flashing in her eyes scared the young girl as she hurriedly swiped Arjuns credit card and handed over the receipt to him for signing. Arjun was busy staring at Arohi, and at the hand on his arm. Arohi left him and pointed with her eyes towards the paper that he needed to sign. As soon he signed the paper, Arohi grabbed the stubs from the girls hands and marched away towards her son.

Arjun started walking behind her and smiled. Arohi had just publicly displayed her jealous and possessive side after months. And he was liking it.

"Ye tum kya karrahi ho???" Rashi asked curiously to Lovedeep since she had folded her hands and was murmuring something with her lips, as if desperately praying.

"Kuch nai yaa… Rab se dua karrahi thi ki ye dono jhagda na karey aur sab kuch theek hojaaye."

Rashi smiled at her answer. She had never met anyone like her, or like the Ahluwalias. Her society and friends circle considered of stinking rich people, who were already doing, or hoping to do business with her family. Because of her status, she was always considered to be a snob in school or college. Hence the not-so-rich or simple people had kept her distance. Even when she herself had tried initiating friendship, it didn't last long due to her familys reputation or her brothers' protectiveness towards her. But she had never complained. She was always a content person, happy with her family doting on her and a husband who was her universe. And now that she had stepped out of that coccoon, she realised what she was missing.

The Ahluwalias maynot be as rich as them, but they were a respectable family in Chandigarh and after knowing them she realised why. Having spend most of her life with people faking their emotions, the Ahluwalias were like a breath of fresh air. The cultural difference between her family and theirs was staring at her in the face. She was very happy that Arjun had chosen Arohi as his life partner, she was the girl who would not only show him the right way but also heal his soul.

"Tu bhi wohi soch rahi hai kya?" Lovedeep asked her waving her hand in front of Rashis face.

"Kuch nai. Achha tum kuch piyogi? Coffee or something?"

"Tu ruk. Mein hum dono ke liye coffee le aati hu. Hum lunch karne kahi aur jaayenge, ye badi bekaar jagah hai khana khaane ke liye! Na roti hai na dal. Bas kuch kachhi sabziyaan, ya toh papad mein bhari hui ya roti mein lapete huey, aur kabi kabaar cheese daala hua. Yeh bhi koi khana hai???"

Rashi couldn't help but grin. "Usse tacos aur enchiladas kehte hain. Agar tumhe mexican khana pasand nahi toh lunch ke liye hum kahi aur jaa sakte hain."

"Khaane ka baad mein dekhenge… Pehle mein coffee le aati hu, aur mujhe tujhse dher saari baatein karni hai. Lunch ke baad hum uss shaadi ke venue pe jaake aayenge, mujhe thoda kaam hai. Ok?" Smiling at Rashi, Love walked off to the cash counter. She paid for the coffee and waited for the delivery. She was feeling very happy today and looking forward to spend the day with Rashi. How could any human being cheat on such a sweet person??? Her husband must really be a pig! It was good that Arohi revealed the truth, he did not deserve a person like Rashi. Taking the tray with two cups of coffee, Love turned around to walk towards their booth.

She looked up towards Rashi and froze in her tracks.

What was wrong with him???? Had he decided to ruin their plans everytime somehow??? As she saw him looking around, she ducked behind a huge guy who was standing behind her to collect his delivery. Slowly moving to the side, she slid into an empty booth nearby. Hiding herself as much as possible, she strained her neck to look over the back of the seat, to watch her Rajveer bhaiya slid into her seat, as he chatted away with Rashi.

The next one hour was the most entertaining to anyone who were watching this unique family. It was as if the entire bowling alley had only one point of attraction, the lane where the "Singhanias" were playing.

Arohi had initially tried avoiding looking at Arjun, she was still angry with him for flirting, when his "wife" and son waited for him. Maybe touching him was not such a smart idea though, the butterflies in her stomach had still not settled. And his "im too cool" attitude flustered her more. Why hadnt bua told her that this monster also would be here… She was going to kill lovedeep!

Raj and Arjun kept challenging her and she kept on snapping. Once or twice she slipped and almost landed on her butt as her shoes were slipping on the smooth flooring. Arjun and Raj looked around, potraying that they didn't know her. Most of the times her ball ended in the gutter, and if it did make it till the pins then it was so slow that only one or two pins were knocked out.

Raj was good at bowling. Very good. Arjun had taught him how to grip the ball, swing his arm and target as many pins as possible. And he had picked up very well for a 7 year old. Unlike Arohi who had dropped the ball a number of times, successfully avoiding her feet though! Arjun had not said anything however she knew that he was smirking behind her back, and that made her more angry. Even Raj, who had initially found her clumsiness as cute, was getting annoyed.

"O hello… Sab logon ko sab games mein expert hona jaroori nahi hai samjhey! Tum mere saath cricket khel ke batao… Phir dekho mein kaise sachin se bhi achha khelti hu! Ye game thoda naya hai… Issliye seekhne mein time jaayega!!! Aur tum under 12 ho issliye tumahre liye woh guard rails upar aajate hai. Agar mere liye aayenge to meri ball bhi gutter mein nahi jaayegi." Arohi warned her son who rolled his eyes. Arjun was just watching her struggle to take the ball successfully from the ball dispenser till the lane.

"Dad… Aapne jaise mujhe seekhaya waise mom ko bhi sikhaaiye na!" Arohi stopped midway to the lane. Arjun teaching her bowling… By standing behind her… Reaching his hands around her waist…Holding her hand which held the ball… Leaning downwards so that his chest was plastered to her back… His warm cheeks brushing hers??? NO WAY!!! Arohi shut her eyes as these images started swimming in her brain.

"NAI… Koi jarurat nahi hai!" Arohi turned halfway to snap at her son, returning her concentration to the ball in her hand.

"Kya hua Arohi? Darr gayi??? Ki kahi mein tumahare paas aaya toh…"

"Oh please!" Arohi snapped as she turned around. "Mein kisise darti nahi. Aur tumne ek chote bachhe ko sikha liya to apne aap ko bohat bada teacher mat samjho, ok? Mujhe tumhare tutorial ki koi jarurat nahi hai." She turned around angrily, and lifted her arm to swing the ball, but it slipped from her fingers midway, flying a few inches in the air before dropping straight towards her feet. Arohi scrunched her eyes in fear, waiting for the pain to hit her. But she never felt it.

Arjun had never acted so swiftly in his life. He had started walking towards Arohi hearing her retort, which he had expected. However, seeing her fingers holding the ball loosely rang alarm bells in his head. Before he could warn her, he saw the ball slipping and dashed towards her.

Arohis heart was beating fast in her chest. Was it because she had anticipated the accident or because a warm body had slammed against her back and pulled her two inches behind, just in time avoiding the ball landing on her toes? She did not know. With her eyes closed she could just feel a hard male chest molded to her back, two strong arms around her waist holding her tight, and a warm ragged breath fanning her ears. The images swimming in her head a few seconds ago were back.

Her mind was transported to not so long ago, when Arjun had offered to close the zip of her dress, spooning her in a similar fashion. He had kissed her hair, her ear lobes, her neck and finally her shoulders before he zipped her up. She had felt the most amazing goosebumps break out on her skin then.

They had now returned.

Kaise batayein kyu tujhko chaahe… Yaara bataa na paaye

Baatein dilon ki… Dekho jo baaki… Aakhein tujhe samjhaaye

Tu jaane naa… Tu jaane naa
