Part 10

Arjun walked in to his office feeling glad with himself. Nothing made him more happy than making his in-laws miserable. He was about to enter his cabin when he saw one of the girls, who had come for interview yesterday, wearing the shortest skirt possible, walk towards the pantry. He frowned looking at her. Didn't he tell Billu to get rid of all of them? Turning around her inquired the same with the receptionist and the answer shocked him.

"Sir, ye ladki Mikhail sir ki nayi secretary hai."

"But Mikhail already has a secretary!"

"Sir maine bhi unse yahi kaha toh woh bole ki he needs two secretaries."

Arjun shook his head in resignation. When will his brother think beyond women and pulling his brother down. If he had put the same amount of energy in proving himself, then he would have been an asset to his dad and not just a liability.

He walked to his cabin to finish off his work asap. He needed to be somewhere tonight and he could not afford to be late.

The Ahluwalia Ashiyana was unusually quiet today. After coming back from the court, Arvind had updated everyone about whatever happened. As usual, everybody had expected Rajveer to go in a fit of rage, screaming and yelling profanities, swearing to ruin Arjuns life etc. However, he had surprised everyone by being thoughtful about it. His gaze kept shifting to Arohi every 10 seconds to see her reaction as his elder brother narrated the happenings. He could see that she was disturbed. But why, he could not figure out. If it was a matter of waiting for 6 months, then they had waited long enough anyways. Another 6 months should not matter. Then what was it that was bothering her? He did a mental note of having a word with her as soon as she comes back to being herself.

After lunch, Lovedeep came to Arohis room to see her sitting with piles of clothes in front of her, folding them with her hands but her mind elsewhere.

"Oye… Arohi!" Arohi jostled out of her thoughts to look at her bua.

"Tuney mere caterer waale idea pe socha ki nahi? Tu roj din bhar ghar pe baithke bore nahi hojati??? I think you should think seriously about it and step out of the house now."

"Nahi bua. Khana banana mera shauk nahi hai. Woh to mein aise hi seekh gayi, lekin kuch dino mein ill get bored. I need something im interested in. Mujhe kuch aur sochna padega."

"Mujhe pata tha tu yahi kahegi. Issliye mein ek aur proposal laayi hu tere liye. Dekh… ye shadiyon mein humey entertainment ki jaroorat padti hai. Jaise mehendi mein dancers aur dhol bajane waalon ki. Ya sangeet mein schedule ya games plan karneki, wagaira wagaira. To tu wo sab kyu nahi handle karti? Main organisor to mein hi hu, lekin mujhe shaadi ke phool se leke mandap tak, sab kuch dekhna pata hai. Toh ye choreography aur baaki sab ke liye mujhe time bhi nahi milta. Aur tu mere saath rahegi, so agar raat ko der hui, toh ghar waalon ko bhi objection nahi rahega. Kya lagta hai tujhe?"

Arohi thought for a minute. She needed to get out of the house anyways. "Idea aapka sachme achha hai bua. This is something of my interest. I think I can do it. Mein aapke saath kaam kar sakti hu?"

"Lehh!!! Ye bhi poochne ki baat hai?! Of course kar sakti hai. Infact aaj raat ko hi ek shaadi hai, toh tu chalna mere saath. Tu dekh bhi paayegi toh tujhe exactly karna kya hai. Toh agli baar se planning karne mein tujhe aasani hogi."

"Thik hai. Lekin aaj mujhe shefali se milne jaana hai. Toh mein thode time aake wahise shefali ke ghar chali jaaungi."

Lovedeep grinned at the whole idea and mentally patted herself for carrying it through. Now once Arohi starts going out of the house, it'll be easier to get her to meet Arjun. Now they wont have to wait till shes alone at home.

"Tu samajh gaya na tujhe kya karna hai???"

Raj glared at his mamu who had told him the plan for the hundredth time.

"Mein chota jaroor hoon lekin mera dimag chota nahi hai. Mein samajh gaya kya karna hai. Aap log itna tension kyu lerahe ho!!!."

Romit, Shefali and Sanchit stared at each others faces. Shefali walked to him and sat down on her heels holding Raj's shoulders.

"Woh kya haina Raj, iss plan ki success puri tarah tere pe dependant karti hain. Right from the start till the end. Tujhe yaad rakhna hoga ki tu ek mission pe hain. You cannot relax for even a minute, cannot ignore even a small detail. Tujhe puri tarah alert rehna hoga, aur agar kuch problem hui to on-the-spot decision lena hoga. Waha hum nahi honge teri help karne ke liye. Isliye hum thode nervous ho rahe hain. Hum jaante hain ki sab kuch tumpe daalna thik nahi hai, lekin hamare paas koi choice bhi to nahi hain."

"Auffooo Shefali aunty. Itna tension lene ki koi jarurat nahi. Pehle bhi toh mein un dono ko akele handle kar chuka hoon." Raj replied with a confident look. The three amigos smiled at this adorable junior Singhania.

"Lekin Raj tab tum situation ko handle karte they. Ab tumhe thodi bohat acting bhi karni hogi, aur bilkul pakde nahi jaana hai. Kar paaoge???" Sanchit challenged him.

"Sanchit maamu… Mein Arohi mom ka beta hoon. Acting karna to mere baayein haath ka khel hain. Aap log sirf bata kab aur kaha, baaki sab mein sambhaal lunga." Shefali giggled, Sanchit rolled his eyes and Romit started shaking his head. Even after so many days staying with him, this chota undertaker still managed to shock him with his smartness.

Romit picked up Raj and said, "Ok hamey ab chalna chahiye. Maine Bro ko bola tha ki aaj mein Raj ko school se pick up karunga. Waise dadi aur di ko pata hai. Lekin agar Bro pata pad gaya ki mein Raj ko leke yaha hoon to mujhe ceiling se latka ke punching bag bana denge."

"Yaar tu bada darta hai apne bhai se. Mujhe dekh… Mein kisise nahi darta." Sanchit straightened his collar as he potrayed a fake attitude to Romit.

"Achha… Rajveer chachu ko batau kisne churaayi unki jeep ki duplicate chaabi?!" Sanchits face immediately fell as Romit started grinning.

"Arre yaar… Mein to mazaak karraha tha. Tu serious hogaya."

"Jo tera haal chachu ke saamne hota haina, wohi mera haal bro ke saamne hota hai. Hum dono ekhi boat mein savaar hain. Samjhaa!!!"

Shefali decided to end this friendly chat. "Ok Ok. Romit tum ab ghar jao. Sab ki locations confirm hone ke baad humlog plan final karenge, ok???"

Everyone dispersed with their roles defined and purpose clear in their mind. This plan HAD TO work and Arjun Arohi had to be civil to each other. They were going to leave them no choice.

"Kaha jaarahe ho Arjun???" Rudra Pratap Singhania questioned his son who was on his way out.

Arjun turned around to the dining table, where his entire family was eating dinner. All of them had suddenly halted their actions and were waiting for his answer.

"Dad mein apne cottage jaa raha hoon. Aaj raat wahi rukunga."

Rashi and Dadi looked at each other. So did Raj and Romit.

"Kya baat hai aaj itne dino baad… achanak? I thought we would have a campfire today after dinner and probably a drink."

"Not today dad. Aaj mein akela rehna chahta hoon. Need to think over a few things."

Rudra's eyebrows shot up in surprise. Not only was his son denying him a drink, he wanted to think over something?!

"Anything wrong son? Mujhe to laga aaj tum bohat achhe mood mein honge. Hamare lawyer ne mujhe bataya kaise tumne aaj saare Ahluwalias ko unki naani yaad dilaayi." He started grinning and Arjun smiled with the memory of the expressions on his in-laws faces.

"Woh to hona hi tha dad. Unhe bhi to batana tha ki Arjun Singhania kabhi koi cheez muft mein nahi deta. Waise this has nothing to do with that. Mujhe business strategies and thoda future planning ke baare mein sochna hai. Plus mein jabse wapas aaya hoon, I've not gone there. So just wanted to spend some time with myself. Maine to security ko bhi chutti de rakhi hai. Sirf gate guard ko retain kiya hai, taake mujhe koi disturb na kar sakey." Arjun darted a quick glance at Mikhail whose body language suddenly changed.

Raj frowned. "But dad, mujhe laga tha ki mein aaj aapke paas sounga. Aapse dher saari baatein karni thi."

Arjun lifted one eyebrow. Every person in this house was becoming a mystery for him. Raj very well knew that Arjun is not the kind of person to do "dher saari baatein with". Which means there was something else!

"Kuch urgent hai? Is there any problem? Abhi batao mujhe!" Arjun got a tad bit worried, he did not want to disappoint his son anymore or make him feel that his father was neglecting him.

Raj looked at Romits face and turned to Arjun. "Nai… Bass aapse baatein karneka mann karraha tha." Raj said meekly.

"Raj, woh dher saari baatein hum kal karenge ok? Aaj dad needs to have a word with himself. Goodnight everybody." Smiling at everyone Arjun walked out the main door, switching on his instincts for the next 12 hours.

"Dher saari baatein! Bro ne life mein kabhi sirf baatein nahi ki aur tum dher saari karoge??? You should've said kuch jaroori baat karni hai… stupid!" Romit muttered under his breath.

"Agar aapko pata hota ki dad aaj ghar pe nahi rahenge to mujhe impromptu kuch bolne ki jaroorat hi nahi padti! Aapko apna homework bhi thik se karne nahi aata." Raj whispered back.

Romit glared at him. Sticking their tongues out at each other, they both continued having dinner.

Sorry for the delay! This is kind of a filler update but it will prove its worth in the future. The precap will be a part of tomorrows update.

i loved the self confident and strong arohi in the show too... trying to maintain that 😊
