Hi guys! Here is the next chapter! I hadn't revealed the reason for separation and it won't get revealed any time soon. But I hope you guys like this chapter. I tried my best. It may sound a little filmy but I have written whatever that came to my mind. Please leave your comments.

Chapter 14

There was too much of pain inside her which gouged out any kind of survival instinct from Arohi. Every memory pertaining to him was not only painful but nearly fatal for her. Just as much as she needed to know his existence to survive she needed to keep away from him. That one moment of rage had her destroy their entire life. Sometimes it seemed illogical to her why he never asked her the reason for her uncontrollable anger. It wasn't just pampering or too much love. Every rebel and black sheep had a story of violence hidden among the past. Sudhir and Amrit Khanna were never bad parents but they were not her parents. They were just someone who filled in the place and whom Arohi accepted as her own. But still she had the memories of her real family, a family that was dysfunctional and had made her totally a rebel. She wasn't Arohi Khanna. The truth to be told she was Arohi Ahluwalia, a name she wanted to forget. That one fight with Arjun and all those bad memories rush back flooding her and choking her to break away. She broke away from him, her family and her friends because the love was beginning to suffocate. Her ego never allowed her to spill her beans and share her fears and pain. How she had wished someone saw that pain in her eyes. Arjun had seen it but she was too reserved to open that closed dark vault. If only she could rewind her life and rectify her mistake. It was not possible she knew it but there was no limit to one's hopes...

Arohi remembered tits and bits of her life with her real family where everything began and end with fights. A home where everyone was everyone's enemy. Arohi could remember one sentence that her real mom said to her real dad when she was only four years old… The intensity of the words was too high for her to forget... "You are my biggest enemy and your daughter is the one I repel most!" Her mom had told her dad and her dad retorted in same amount. The result was Arohi lost her only family. Sudhir Khanna was Arohi's neighbour and he adopted her. It was with them Arohi really understood the real meaning of family. Her parents never really bothered about her and this ignorance had made Arohi a hothead. Her rage was her wall against the world. While growing up it was her hobby to read about people who had similar experiences and somehow it got into her head that sharing her past with trusted ones was not a good move. She began to think that it was better to be shown as a happy-go-lucky-girl than to reveal oneself as a victim of a dysfunctional family. And there began her journey as a hothead but unusually happy girl. It was this shame in revealing her past that had cost her the love of her life… Sometimes Arohi think that her life was following the trodden path of daily soaps. First fall in love and then get separated but she knew whatever excuse she gave it was her fault. May be Arjun lose his cool too but it was her who started it. Her past couldn't be an excuse. All this while she had considered herself above that but in truth she wasn't. She should have considered every single matter before taking the decision. But she didn't. She just felt like leaving after that fight and she did exactly the same. She thought running away was better than facing the problem. She did remember the fight like yesterday. A silly fight that stole her life away…

Arohi was too much engrossed in her past that she didn't see Raj coming up behind her. "Pooh!!" Arohi jumped back and once she saw him she let out a small smile. Now her entire life circled around 'Saans' and the children here. Raj was the reason she was part of this organization. When she was in Delhi she found out that Arjun was trying to track her down. It had only been one year since she left their town. She didn't want to face him. Her guilt or her ego she didn't know what made her flee the city but whatever it was she left the city in a hurry and on her way she found a small baby in the station. She never understood why his mom abandoned him. The youth of this new world didn't have the courage to face their situation. At that thought she felt a pinch in her heart. She was doing the same. She was also running from her life scared. But she took him and there she found out about 'Saans' and she became a part of it. Now Raj was seven years old and a part of her life. His antics reminded her of Arjun. His unusual fights and logic all made her remember Arjun. But everything she saw and experienced reminded her of Arjun. She couldn't explain how much she resented that silly fight. She should have seen it coming. The silly fights they had before were all signs of the coming storm. It may have gone by as a harsh breeze but she made it a heavy storm.

"Maasi, come let's play!" Raj forced her. Unlike all other kids he called her maasi and she never protested.

"Ok Raj! Let's go and play!" Arohi took Raj's hand and go out with him. After playing hide and seek with him Arohi felt a little relaxed. She couldn't let her past get the best of her. She had a new life which she loved. So she had to buckle up for the rest of her journey. She was past crying and sulking up. Of course she loved Arjun and still did. Nothing could change that. But she had other responsibilities to take care of. And what she did to him was not justifiable. So let it go. If fate had something good for her it would come her way. She knew that. But it didn't mean she would replace Arjun with someone else. He was someone irreplaceable. He was one of a kind. And that thought brought a smile to her. Whatever she said and did, only he could bring a true smile to her face.

Tomorrow she and the kids would take the journey to their vacation place. A two hour journey in train and they would be there. The kids loved the train journey especially Raj. Just like Arohi was attached to him he was also attached to her. He felt she was only his maasi just like Arjun felt she was only his.

"Kids get into the train! Don't make a fuss! I am warning you all no naughty deeds while travelling!" Arohi was practically shouting because of the loud noises in the station.

Arohi watched with patience while the kids and Sur got into the train one by one. She had a handful and only god knew how she would manage them. Raj was practically their leader in being the naughtiest and unpredictable. The kind of fun he had done would make anyone gasp. A naughty soul to the core. Arohi loaded their entire luggage and finally settled down. It was only after the train started to move Arohi noticed that Raj was nowhere near. For a second she was muted. She had no idea what to do. She began searching for him frantically. She thought she lost him and at that moment she knew how a mother would feel if she lost her child. At that precise thought Arohi felt a pain in her heart for leaving her parents behind but she composed herself knowing it was not the right time. She moved from compartment to compartment to find Raj. She knew for sure that Raj was on board but where? As she moved through the compartments, some twenty feet away she saw Raj talking to a kneeled down stranger. Something about the stranger was very familiar to her. Was it his hair? Or his broad shoulders? She couldn't exactly point out what was familiar about him. But every step she took it felt like miles and her heart was racing hard. Her heart started beating like she was running in a marathon. What was it? Something unusually familiar was surrounding her. She stood before Raj for some seconds trying to decide on what she should do. Finally she called him.

"Raj, how many times should I tell you that you can't wander off alone? Where were you?" Arohi said that much. But what was weird to her was that she didn't know why she was so nervous!

"I am sorry maasi! But look who I found! It's your favourite writer!" Raj said in one go.

And at that precise moment Arohi saw the guy turn and she forgot to breathe then. The guy was as much shocked as her. Arjun couldn't believe he was seeing his Arohi. He was just talking to a kid who was going on and on about his maasi who read all his books and had followed all his news. Arjun was little uncomfortable hearing this for he never got accustomed to all the attention. But when he saw Raj's maasi all he could think was 'Arohi! She is here! She is Raj's maasi! She reads my books and follows me!'. They kept on staring for some time and finally Arjun broke the weird moment.

"Hi!" Now Arjun was shocked. Out of all the words in this world he said 'hi!' to the girl he was searching for the past eight years. He had thought that when he would finally meet her he would shout at her and ask her why she left but mostly he thought he would hug her and would never let her go. But here everything was totally messed up. He was standing there like he had been turned into stone. To tense him up more Arohi wasn't saying anything. Then his sight fell on her bangle bracelet. He gifted it to her after their confession. She was wearing it even after all this time. Just as Arjun was going to ask her why she did what she did Arohi grabbed Raj's hand and fled from there. Arjun was just too dumbfounded to do anything. He was still in confusion. Did he really saw her? Was it a dream? A beautiful dream for that matter. He needed to find out.

Arohi rushed through the groups of people to her compartment with Raj on her tow. She was having a hard time composing herself. She was dreaming. It couldn't be him! How could he be here? It was impossible! Her long green skirt was fluttering with the wind of her speed, her green shawl with golden embroidery flying behind her touching everything. Arohi was sweating profusely. There were droplets of sweat on her forehead, some of which rolled down to her neck which was adorned with the golden chain. Some of the droplets melted onto the chain while some made its way into her white top wetting the green and golden embroidery on the neckline. Even her hands and palms were sweating. Her ears were also sweating. She looked like a scared deer running for her dear life. She moved with more speed and reached her compartment. She left Raj with Sur and other kids and went to have some fresh air. Being a tourist train there was no crowd. After having herself under control Arohi went to the washroom. Splashing water onto her face for many a times Arohi told herself that it was a hallucination. She tried to reason with herself. She splashed some more water to her face. Now it was the water droplets that adorned her face like diamonds and some water droplets glistened on her nose ring and golden hoops. The droplets hung onto her face like pearls. She came out of the washroom to face the reality from which she was running. Arjun was right in front of her.

"You still wear my gift, huh?" Arjun asked and Arohi stood nearly stunned.
