Scene217 Karan's call to Gunjan

Gunjan gets up and declares choking: I am going home to mommy

Arjun: But, have food and medicines baby, please

Gunjan angry mood: No bhaiya, i am not hungry. I will go to my house.

Arohi: Please baby, have food. Then Arjun will only leave you to your house

Arjun sees blood and cut on her elbow and takes her on lap.

Arjun: Show elbow baby its hurt and has blood. Wait and takes a handkerchief to tie

Gunjan: Let it hurt its OK and pulls the hand and jumps off his lap.

Gunjan wants to go home now only. She is angry, upset and scared and wants to go back to the comfort and safety of her house. She is feeling emotional and wants to hug and cry on someone's shoulders.

Arjun looks at Arohi and Rashi upset. How to pacify Gunjan?

Just then Gunjan's mobile in her bag is ringing.

Rashi takes it from her bag and sees its her brother's call.

He calls her 4 times a day wherever he is 7am, 1pm, 6pm and 10pm.

Rashi: her bhaiya's call

Arjun: Bhaiya???????

Arjun, Arohi and Rashi glance at each other. What if Gunjan tell her brother RPS slapped her at party? Arjun is even more tensed- if she tells Karan he hit her and scolded her morning Karan may feel very angry. He was so angry that day when Arjun had jokingly told he will spank Gunjan.

Gunjan takes phone.

Gunjan: Hellooo bhaiyaaa

Karan: How is my chutki now? When i called at 6pm you were in mall playing games

Gunjan starts choking

Karan: Hmmm, you must be enjoying with Arjun and Raj full day na. I know my chutki. You must have brought roof down playing pranks on everyone at birthday party. I know my chutki well. Chutki Chutki

Gunjan starts crying unable to control her emotions. How does she tell Karan she played pranks but like him others did not think of her as a small child and take it sportingly but slapped her for playing pranks or scolded her and passed comments like what sort of parents are hers who have not taught her any manners etc?

Karan panicks: chutki why are you crying? Mom told you are in Raj's birthday party. Where are you?

Gunjan sobbing: I am at the party only

Karan: why are you crying?

Gunjan sobbing and looking at Arjun and Rashi: Nothing, my stomach was paining a bit. Thats why i am crying

Arjun and Rashi look with guilt at each other. Arjun is feeling terrible.

Karan panicks: Give to Arjun

Gunjan sobbing: No, its OK. I had tablet. The pain has reduced a lot Ba.

Karan: chutki You are OK right. Shall i tell mom to come and take you baby

Gunjan sobbing: Not required Ba. I am leaving after 10 minutes to house only

Karan tensed: Are you sure Chutki? Please tell me honestly what happened?

Karan is upset as she was unwell last week. What if she becomes serious crying so much? He and papa are in US not in India. Oh No

I understand that ideally no one should raise hands on others kids but

there are many reasons why i have written the scene

First is to show RPS charachter change. Till now he had liked Arjun from scene1 because he helped him in getting released from jail and because he helps in business

But RPS adopted Arjun with an intention-it will be revealed later that is the most major reason why he adopted and made Arjun a criminal

The second reason i want to show Gunjan's vulnerability as a small 9 year old kid although she behaves like a very mature child majority of times

Third this scene will lead to a major revelation to Arjun about his mother. You will see that in a few scenes from now. The third reason is most major reason why i wrote this scene. All other reasons are a by product of this reason.

Fourthly i want to show the bond that PRS, Karan and Gunjan share as father and children through this scene

Actually i want to clarify RPS did not really hit Gunjan

He was angry on Arjun for not taking revenge on Ahluwaliah's but Arjun is not doing that. He cannot question Arjun as he may get doubt on RPS intention. He actually slapped Arjun not Gunjan

sometimes if you are angry at your parents you shout at your brothers or sisters

similarly RPS removed anger of Arjun on Gunjan

Scene218 Gunjan feels sad at her past misbehaviour's with Karan

Karan tensed: Chutki why are you crying? I am getting upset

Gunjan: Nothing Ba. You do not get upset

Arjun thinking: So Ba is Karan

Karan screams: How shall i not get upset? How are you now? Tell me honestly

Gunjan choking and tensed not sure what to tell Karan: Pain has reduced bhaiya. Its better now. Really i do not have pain now. Really

Karan: Honestly

Gunjan: Really

Karan: promise you do not have pain

Gunjan: Your promise Ba no pain. I am fine now.

Karan tensed: You are telling truth no chutki

Gunjan screams irritated: You know na i will die but not lie saying your promise? I have no pain. I will switch off now if you do not have anything else to talk.

Karan: Chutki Chutki please do not switch off baby. I am sorry sorry for irritating you. But do not talk like that ever again OK do not talk of dying and all baby please(chokes)

Gunjan realizes error: Sorry very sorry Ba. I am sorry. I will never talk like that ever again

Karan: Ok baby stop crying now wipe your tears and give Ba a big smile else your Ba will be tensed.

Gunjan wipes her tears and smiles.

She gets upset that she hits and misbehaves, fights with her Karan bhaiya so much and plays so many pranks on him. But not once he has raised his hands on her not once in life got angry on her. And if her mother or dadaji hit her also she goes and hits Karan - poor Karan not once he has stopped her from hitting him if her mom and dadaji hit her because he knows after hitting him she feels happy and her anger subsides. And sometimes while fighting with him she throws anything available like knife, plates etc on him. Just last week he was hurt by a pot she flung at him in anger and he put his hand out to save himself and it broke into pieces and it hurt his hand a bit badly only that it was swollen for 3-4 days.

Actually her mother had shouted at her and hit her and Gunjan was very angry. Karan ran behind to console her and Gunjan was so angry she warned him to leave her. When he refused to leave her alone she saw around and took a pot and threw it at him at his chest level with full force. Karan was quick and brought his hand to save himself and the pot broke into pieces and the impact hurt his hand and it was swollen badly. Yashodhara was very angry when she saw this and wanted to discipline her. She shouted at Gunjan and raised her hand on Gunjan but Karan stopped his mother from hitting her. Gunjan was so scared of her mother she had hid behind her brother in fear and ensured she was near him only for rest of the day lest her mother find her alone and shout and hit her for hurting Karan.

So many times Gunjan had gone out with her Karan bhaiya and disappeared in US. Once she ran away on a visit to an amusment park leaving her bag which had her mobile phone with her brother only and Karan searched for 2-3 hours before tracing her yet he did not shout or hit her. He only told her not to run away leaving his hand. Another time she left his hand and ran to a train and climbed it as it was leaving to New York and Karan had to inform authorities and ask them to stop her at New York station and he drove to New York in car and got her back. He again did not shout or tell his parents as they may get tensed and shout at her. Karan understood Gunjan was a free bird and sometimes in her excitment to explore would lose herself in the surroundings not on purpose. Today she had realized how much her brother really loved and cared for her.

And PRS her father he could not see tears in her eyes at all. He would get so upset seeing tears in her eyes or seeing her sad. Sometime he himself would have tears in eyes seeing his angel in pain or in tears. Then to console him Gunjan would stop crying and smile and laugh although she wanted to cry more. Especially when she would be in hospital with all injections and machines attached to her and pain would be unbearable she would sometimes stop crying and try to smile only for her daddy to stop the tears in her father eyes. The one person in whose eyes she could never bear to see tears was her father. After all she was her papa's angel.
