Dee-War..
Arohi: Arjun. I dun care how busy u are. Just talk to me, ok?
Arjun, from the other end: kya hua Arohi?
Arohi: since morning i have been waiting for ur call. When i called u, u cut the phone and u left early even without informing me. Why?
Arjun: i am sorry arohi.. The work i had to do was so urgent, couldnt delay it.. Cheer up dear. U know i always love you.
Arohi: i know..i love u too. But dont think that i've forgiven u..
Arjun: acha meri maa..smile please.
Arohi smiled a little.
Arjun: itni chotti si smile se mera kuch nahi hoga. Come on princess, give me a bigger one.
Arohi, smiling more, on hearing 'princess': how do u know i was not smiling? Are u watching me?
Arjun: u know that i dont need to see u to tell what u are doing, dont u? Now that ur smile is reaching ur eyes,.. ur looking nice.
Arohi, remembering the reason of her calling him: Do u remember what day is it today?
Arjun: ya..Thursday.
Arohi: no, the date, stupid.
Arjun: ya..i know. Why are u asking?
Arohi: do u remember what happened on
this date an year back?
Arjun took a long pause and then answered: yes..how could i forget it..
Arohi smiled to herself, waiting for Arjun to prove wrong the thought that had been lurking her mind since morning that Arjun had forgotten their first anniversary, waiting for him to say that he could never forget something that was related to him and her, and meanwhile surfacing the beleif she had deep down in her that he could never forget such a precious occasion for them, for which they had to go through from what not. Today, though she had received wishes from family and friends, but since it was arjun, it was different. Everything was different and special when it came to arjun..
Arjun: u dont really think that i could forget that, could you? (She waited with bated breath, expecting something sort of 'happy anniversary sweet-heart' coming her way, her mad heart beating loudly to hear those words from the one she'd been yearning to hear since morning...) of course.. Today was the day when the final version of my favourite video-game came out.
Arohi let go of a long breath, feeling disappointed: what??
Arjun: Remember how me and Raj were excited to set our hands on it, and finally when we got it around a month later, we both irritated the hell outta u by playing it all day.. Haahaa.. Twas so fun.. How could i forget that?
Arohi: u must be joking.. It is impossible that u dont remember..
Arjun: no arohi..seriously.. Its the only thing i can remember.. Aur kuch hai to please tell me na..i really dont remember.
Slight tears clouded her eyes..her heart, that was put to silent the harsh way, was aching badly. She didnt know what to say..
She bit her lower lip to control herself.
Arohi: u are wrong. If u dont remember anything, count me out from telling u. I dun care about u and ur stupid game.
Arjun: what happened, dear?
Arohi, gathering herself: nothing.. And yes dadi told me to inform u that today u have to come home at 7. Dont ask me why..i dunno. Ok arjun. Dadi is calling me. I need to go,..
Arjun: arohi..
Arohi didnt wait for him to complete and disconnected the call.
Arohi: soo.. He thinks that he can forget such an important date in our lives and i'll let go of him that easily.. No Mr. Arjun Singhania. You are going to pay back. When you'll come back, i wont talk to you. I wont even look at you, then only you'd know... I.. I.. I hate you arjun..
She wiped her eyes clean and went to the hall to complete the party work with rest of her friends. Later on, they were joined by Arohi's Lovedeep bua, apologising that none of her family could come along. Love was a great source of help; she had her own company that organised parties and events.
Around 5 o'clock, Arjun's sister Rashi arrived with Raj, a 7-year-old boy. They had gone for a small vacation as it was holiday season.
They all chatted for sometime, having finished their work, when they all decided to dress up themselves for the party. Soon, the guests started arriving. There, in her room, Arohi looked at her watch. It was 6.45. The others had gone off to the hall already but she was taking her time, not wishing to go to the hall before making Arjun wait for her.
Shefali poked her face inside Arohi's room and saw her sitting in front of the mirror.
Shefali: wow.. U look b'ful.. Ab bas kar Arohi.. Aur kitna tayyar hogi? Arjun tujhe dekhkar puri tarah flat ho jaega. Ab jaldi chal. Arjun aa chuka hai.
Arohi: tu ja.. Main bas abhi aati hu.
