because it's true? remember that prem had a beautiful logical answer ready to preet-harman presenting their play in front of him. that if their father's heart gets broken, then their family would all cry. so for all practical purposes, everyone knows that prem's trading off his father's happiness with his own.
i just think that harman and preet are different people. there's more of prem in harman: compromise on what he thinks is the
right thing for what he is told is the
correct thing. preet is totally different from prem: he will only always do what he thinks is the
right thing.

good point. but it does look like in a war between logic and sense vs. ancient promises and obligations, the promises are going to win -- for prem's father. so veera saying anything about prashant would not have helped prem to get out of his father bullying him to marry ashlesha? prem's stuck. until he helps himself.
