Gifts are beginning to trickle in.

But some people are not even checking their PMs to know who their partner is...

I should add something in the rules where if a gift is not given then that person won't be allowed to play next year. 😈

yes add that and it should be mandatory to write introduction - that is the only way for you to find out a person understands what to do and how to play.
