Dev squirmed in his seat uncomfortably....he was on his flight to london...a decision he had to take after lalit urged him sternly to come asap to london .
as the flight took off his thoughts drifted to the past week...
he was in utter misery...he had to leave pari at any cost ...last night he just made a fool of himself..almost losing it...the whole night he thought over and over as he decorated the home for 'them'...
yes he was trying his best to accept the fact that heer can't be his any more....
and he needed time for that before facing pari the next time...
he had informed lalit about his need to be in aus..and convinced him to give the news to Prem and heer...
but then as he tried to immerse himself in work ,her face smiled at him....
when he closed his eyes for a second her eyes twinkled before his mind....
is it possible to just pluck away a person from his heart who has deep roots into it ...??!!!
is it possible to rename a relation so easily....?!!
he had shut down and withdrew completly to himself ...he kept his phone off .and tried to erase everything that was related to heer in his mind..
to his fury and frustration every single thing he remembered of heer came to his mind more vividly
"you are in love with heer Dev!!!"
kiran's stoic voice echoed in his ears....
two days back he was surprised to see Kiran at his doorstep....
kiran had looked at him skeptically and without a word entered the flat...
later as they were having dinner in the restaurent kiran told him about heer's repeated calls and Sia's worry ...
he had remained silent trying to avoid the name heer reaching his ears.....
after a long silence ....kiran broke it with a statement which exploded in his brain....
"you are in love with heer Dev....!!"
he was shocked to hear that from Kiran's mouth....
his reaction was the proof of accepting the statement and he knew he had given away ..there was no point in denying the truth to the one person who knew him in and out. But...... he looked at kiran with a strange fear flickering in his eyes....
Kiran slumped his shoulders ...."Sia also know this....she was kinda closely watching you ..you know ...in heer's marriage..."
he paused and continued..."she is really worried about you ..."
"kiran....i am over with her ...you two don't worry about me...its work and nothing else..."he had tried to play down..
kiran was sympathetic...he was his childhood friend ,brother ..and they talked ...but the impact of kiran's words reeled in his mind..
now as he sat still in his seat his thoughts drifted to the day he first saw her ...
it was his twelth birthday and he heard that Sia had invited her friends for the small birtday party in his house...
he was disintrested ...he wanted to be alone ...his thoughts wandering to his moms ill health and dad's indifference...
and parties .!!...he just hated them.....
just after finishing the cake cutting he was about to slip to his room that a voice stopped him....
"hello...happy b'day...!"
her voice held something that stopped him and he turned to face the owner .a pretty girl.!.whom he had seen in his home in the morning...!!
"umm..thank you...you were here in the morning right?"
"ya...i just came over to help Sia..so did you like our arrangements...?"
her innocent bubbly question brought a smile on his face and he nodded positively....
from that day started their friendship..he did'nt know how he opened up to her friendship unconditionally but it happened naturally..
Dev sighed ....the day ..when he realised his feelings for heer....
as usual practice the foursome .kiran ,Sia heer and himself were sitting in the park...
kiran was dating Sia ..and even though Dev resented it a bit heer had made him agree to their relation..
and being a protective bro he insisted in accompanying the couple .!!!
..kiran had scrunched his nose at the suggestion but sia looked at heer and she got an understanding wink in return..
.he had watched the interaction and instantly understood .
sia wanted heer to engage him while she spent time with Kiran....!
he was surprised by the surge of unknown happiness within him at that moment...
and then with each passing day he became more conscious of her....
her smile.....the way her cute dimple shown when she laughed ....
her long hair....its silkiness....her scent...her evrything captivated him....
but at that time he did'nt understand ...that he was in love...or did he..?
Dev sank his head on the headrest....
he knew ...but he never had the courage to tell her....
she was his prized possession....and he never wanted to lose her doing something... rashly....and moreover his family atmosphere was deteriorating rapidly...
life was in a turning point .....dad decided to take mom to London...
and within no time they bid adieu to heer ,meher ,teji aunty and kiran...even then it did'nt occur to him that he was going to lose her ....forever....
and now he lost her ...
but his mind denied vehemently.... ..."but you are in love with heer ....!!"
yes I am...I was ....and will always love her....even if from a distance i am content to see her happy...
some one chuckled within him....
"do you think so?" a voice sounding all too familier seemed to ask him....
A hand touched his shoulder and he jerked out from his reverie....
"uh!sir ...?are you alright ?" the Air hostess enquired with a worried frown on her face...
Dev looked at her blankly ....then at himself ..he was sweating profusely even in the ac...!!!
"umm..i am ...okay...i am ..alright ...thanks .."he muttered mopping his forehead .the lady left with an unconvinced expression....
Dev sighed ...both kiran and he had agreed that being away from her was the easiest way out of his misery....
but how could he say No to Lalit uncle ....Prem...Gayathri aunty...!!!?
when he called kiran to tell him that he is going back to london... a deep silence preceded his question...
"Dev ..can you work that out?"
kiran's question was the one he was asking to himself .....
"hmm...i will..."but he himself knew that his words lacked confidence ...!!

"dev" Prem called out as he spotted Dev walking towards him....
both of them hugged ..and Prem frowned ....
"whats the matter dude..you look drained...!"
"wo umm..i am not feeling well...chills..kinda..."Dev tried to make his face pleasent but he knew he had lost it when he saw Prem's forehead creasing in concern...
"ah!i am okay Prem...so where is my schedule....,how soon are we going to launch the sixies.."
prem did 'nt reply...instead he took his phone and dialled...
"Dr Mishra ...Prem Juneja here ...can we hav meeting now.....ya ..please come to my office...sure.."
Dev looked at prem confused ...
"come Dev..we have this meeting now and i need you there .Dr.Mishra is offering his services to the juneja hotels ...lets see how it goes.."

half an hour later as both of them emerged out of the car parked in the Private lot of the penthouse Prem was grinning widely...Dev sat with a pout rubbing the cotton ball on to his arm where he had the injection..
"dev ab itna to bura mat man yaar ...you don't know how bad you looked when you came to office..i just had to take you to Docter ...but i know you better ...aate hi schedule maang raha tha ...so i had to play the drama ..."
"very funny...!"dev glared at Prem as he get out of the car with some difficulty....he was feeling a bit stiff with the effect of the medicine....
as both got into the private elevator Prem took the key from his pocket ....
dev looked at him questioningly as prem pressed the key to his palm....
"i'll go to the store to get the prescribed meds...you go and have a talk with my tigress....she just bugged me and dad to bring you here ..i did you a favor though ...i havent told her about your arrival...its my surprise for her.....and now .."
prem playfully took Dev's arms and weighed him with eyes ...
"hmm..just checking out how you look now...some shapes may change after some incidents ...you know..."
Dev was unaware of the pain in his heart till now ..but ...now it resurfaced with full magnitude...
"lekin Prem..."he protested ...alarm rising in his mind.
"kuch lekin nahi...tumne uska phone nahi uthaya ...to is ki saza to tumhe milni hi chahiye..and you know how soft hearted i am....i can't even take sides ...see..when it is between you two.."
the elevator stopped at 8th floor...and Prem got out giving a thumps up "good luck buddy...apne aapko bachao."

Dev opened the door ...and stepped in....
he was welcomed by her sweet voice.....
"prem ..do minute ...main yeh khatam karke aati hoo..."
he walked to the direction from where she called out....and then....he stood still forgetting to breath..
she stood upon a stool holding up a portrait ...her hair was a high bun upon her head with some locks falling out from the hold....
and her dress...he had never seen her like this....so coyly in the denim shorts and a spaghetti top.
and he could not but stare at the junction of her exposed spine as she lifted the portrait to the position...and gape at her slender legs....
he did'nt know how he got out from his world and could hold her before she hit the floor....but he did remember her taking a back step ....
now as she held on to him tight ...her soft body pressed on to his....his hands burned at the touch of her skin.....
and he stopped fighting with himself....he was helpless.... it was impossible not to fall all over in love with her again....and again....
the heer whom he loved was a plain jane...!but the one for whom he was falling beyond control.now...becoming obsessed with ...was far more enticing and sensual...
and he was not in his capacity to break away from her spell....

"prem.."she called out involuntarily....
but a frown formed on her forehead as she listened to the thudding heartbeat ...and then the heat....
heer opened her eyes in horror feeling very awkward to fall into the hands of a stranger....
but her eyes fell on the man's face and her hands went up to her mouth in surprise...
"sonu...tum....??!!"
Dev smiled and put her down carefully....
but heer's expressions suddenly changed as she turned away from him,her arms forming a stiff knot upon her chest.....
Dev shook is head sideways and smiled ....
"pari ..tumhe pata hai...tum bilkul bhi nahi badli ho....wohi 10 saal ki bachi dikh rahi ho....aur harkate bhi aisi hi karti ho...."
heer turned to him ,still in the same pose...
"kya matlab...?"
"matlab yeh hai ki mujhe tumse gussa hona chahiye aur ulta tum mjuhpe gussa kar rahe ho..."
Dev made a sad face rubbing the side of his cheek....
heer's cheeks reddened and she looked down embaressed....
"i am so..."
his hand shot out and reached her lips but upon second thought he withdrew it...
heer looked at him...her wide eyes glistening with moisture....
"i am sorry...it was me who hurt you more than you hurt me..." he turned....
heer smiled ..."tum bhi kaha badle ho...sonu..?!!"
her eyes were scanning him more intently....and Dev said before she asked ....
"wo slight fever hai ..kal tak theek ho jayega you don't worry..."
"main tumhe coffee bana kar lati hoo...tum baith jao...."heer turned to the kitchen quickly concerned ..
"make it three..."Dev called out and heer stopped ...and raised her eyebrows in question...
"Prem...wo neeche meds lane gaya hai aur mujhe tumhe face karne ke liye bhej diya..."
heer let out a deep sigh ..."thank god varna main to gir jaati aur unke mooh se daant bhi sunni padthi..by the way .thank you so much for saving me..."
"its my pleasure..."Dev retroted looking at her angelic face...only he knew he meant that ....
"are yahaan sab shaanth lag raha hai aur shayad mera burai ho raha hai..."Prem's voice boomed form the door...
Dev saw with a twinge how her face lit up and how she submitted herself in prem's open arms ,taking his coat from him and snuggling to his chest...
"heer ,this is Dev's medicines and you better take care of him ....tabhi to wo office join kar payega aur hume ...thoda time milega..huh!"
Prem winked to heer naughtily and earned a playful slap from her ..
"besharam.."she muttered between her teeth...
as three of them were having coffee from the balcony...heer congratulated Prem for duping Dev...while Dev sulked...
"prem..batao na Dev aapke saath college main ..kaise the wo?"
heer sat on prems armrest ..his right hand wrapping her waist ....
"hmm..he was okay...har pal kisike khayalon main khoya rehtha tha..."prem chuckled as he saw Dev flinch slightly..
"oho!!to wo baat hai ki tumne apni best friend ko bhi bhool gayi..."heer joined Prem in teasing dev....
Dev gave her a hurt look..."aisa koi baat nahi ...pari..."
"aise kaise nahi...tum ne to meri dream home ka plan bhi churaya us ladki keliye...aur keh rahe ho ...aisi koi baat nahi...acha chodo...itna batao ki wo kaisi thi..."
heer leaned forward ...her action causing her to go off balance ...landing on Prem's lap...
"wow..heer you are becoming more romantic..."Prem grinned widely as heer glared at him and tried to stand up....
but prem tightened his hold....
"yahi baitho...."he urged her softly...
Dev turned his concentration to the sea waves beating hard against the shore..
"sonu main tumse pooch rahi thi ki wo kaisi thi uska naam kya tha...?"
"Pari ..chodo na..its a closed chapter ..."
"ya i know Sonu...lekin mujhe aur Sia ko kuch to Idea hona hai na ki tumhe kaisi ladki pasand hai...haina Prem.."
prem nodded in positive and Dev sighed...
"Prem tum bhi ...!acha wo kahi kahi tumhari jaisi hi thi...."Dev said in a low tone...
heer burst out laughing....
"dekha Prem...maine kaha tha na yeh aisa kuch nahi bolnewala ...ab mujhe maska laga raha hai...!!"
"well isme itni hansne ki baat kya hai..."Dev asked seriously...his mind recovering from the somersault it took seeing her open laugh...
they chatted for sometime and after that heer prepared dinner ....
men sat in the living area engrossed in their discussion....
"Prem,sonu..aajao..."heer called out as she laid the table....
prem looked up and remained that way....heer had freshened up and wore a saree...
heer served the dinner ...unaware of the raving thoughts passing in the mind of the men...
suddenly Prem started hiccuping....
"prem...yeh lo paani..."heer came fast to his side and helped him to drink water....
"aaram se khalo khana thodi plate se bhag jaayega..."she scolded him lightly ruffling his hair as Prem looked at her admiringly....
Dev drew circles on his plate ...he did'nt feel like eating any thing....his eyes were not leaving her and he had to tear off his gaze from her ...
"excuse me..."he stood up and went to wash room...
as he came back he heard prem heer talk...
"nahi Prem...sonu ko bura lagega..."
"use bura kyu lagega?main apni patni ki saath walk pe jaa na chahtha hai to .."
"lekin..."
as Dev joined them...heer smiled at him and gave him his medicines....
"wo Dev ...we are going for a walk....tum so jaana ...we'll be a bit late..."Prem said to Dev eyeing heer naughtily as she blushed ...
"oh!walk...sure ...i don't mind...."
he did mind....
as he saw prem wrap a hand over her shoulder and leave the door ...he sank into the sofa holding his head..

heer came back to the living area and looked around ....
she had finished her interior works and the home looked beautiful....
as routine she went to their room and tidied up...

heer kept her hands on hips in exasperation....
she took the cloths in the laundry bag and moved to Guest room...
she smiled as she saw the room kept neat...
"sonu bhi..."as she took the wet towel from the bed...she shook her head in disbelief...
as she took the laundry bag his shirt fell down and heer bent to pick it ...
she froze in her position as her eyes focused on something in the floor....!!!
