Chapter 40

heer continued crying and meher sat next to her and she hugged her dad for the last time and then she hugged heer and both of the sisters cried and then they took the body and were taking outside of the house when heer started running she was saying "please don't take my dad!!!! Please I beg of you guys please" prem held heer and he asked gayatri to take her inside but heer was not listening she said "prem please bring my dad back please prem" she said a like a innocent child and prem wiped his tears and he hugged her tightly and then let go of her and gayatri took heer inside the house and all the men went to do the funeral.

In the evening when all the guests were gone now in the house was only prem. Heer, meher, geet, gayatri and lali they all were sitting in the living room on the floor heer was sitting far away from everyone and she didn't talk to anyone gayatri tried to talk to her but she didn't response back after sometime geet asked servants to make dinner and then she gave it to everyone to eat and geet took the food plate to heer but heer didn't take the food plate from geet and then geet sat beside her and tried to feed her but heer eat and she kept on crying she hugged her knees and rested her head on her knees tears were unstoppable prem saw that heer didn't eat and he thought that she should eat because she haven't ate the whole day and if she doesn't eat she will get sick he got up and walked to heer and he took her hand in his and he made her stand and heer stood there crying than he said "heer come with me" heer didn't say anything and prem took her with him and they went to the garden he made heer sit on the swing and he sat beside her on the swing and they both sat quietly heer was staring at the dark sky and shiny stars and tears were rolling down her eyes prem saw that she was looking at the stars he took her hand in his and he looked at the sky and he said "heer do you know these shiny stars are always watching us you know they are so close to us but they look as if they are very far away from us, you know when our someone special goes away from this world they hide behind those shiny stars and they watch us from there" heer looked at prem sniffing and he looked into her red sad eyes and he said "heer your dad is there" he pointed to the sky to the most shinning star and heer looked at that star and then prem said "heer your dad is watching us and he must be feeling sad now seeing you broken like this" heer stared back at prem and she hugged him resting her head on his chest and they both stared at that star.

Then after sometime prem and heer went inside and he fed heer and then took her to her room and laid her on the bed and then he came out and saw geet and meher was sleeping in meher's room and gayatri and lali was in the guest room prem went downstairs and he checked all the doors than he went upstairs to heer's bedroom and he saw her sleeping peacefully in her bed and he sat on the couch and stared at the photos of heer and her dad and meher which were hung on the wall he saw how happy they all looked and now, then he heard heer screaming he ran to her and sat beside her on the bed and he said "heer are you ok?" heer was sweating and she just had a bad dream and she stared at prem and she nodded her head that she is ok. Than prem sat with her she was lying on the bed and he was patting her head and soon she drifted to sleep and prem kept on stroking her hair.

In the morning prem and gayatri and lali went to the hospital to meet lalit and heer, meher and geet was at home, geet was trying to bring meher out of the trauma and she was talking to her and supporting her like a sister and she said "meher you know you have to be strong for heer because if you shatter like this then what about heer di please meher be strong for heer's sake" meher nodded and she said "geet you are right I have to be strong and look after heer di" with saying that she got up and went to heer's bedroom.
