Chapter 41

Heer was in her bedroom she was sitting on her bed and she was looking at the old photo albums and tears were rolling down her cheeks, meher knocked on heer's door but she didn't get any response she slowly opened the door and went inside the room and she slowly walked to heer's bed and she sat on the edge of the bed and she said "heer di" heer looked at meher and sadly and like a little kid she fell in meher's arms and hugged her and started crying loudly and she said "meher I want my dad" meher hugged her and she controlled her self she wiped her tears and she said "heer di please don't cry if you broke like this than what about me? Please di" meher broke the hug and she cupped heer's face and she wiped her tears and she said "di do you know dad is getting hurt watching us remember he doesn't like to see tears in your eyes and he always said that he hate to see tears in our eyes please for dad's sake don't cry" heer nodded and she listened to meher like a little kid is listening to their mother. Meher looked at the photos and to change the topic she said "di lets go down and eat something I'm hungry" heer sniffed and she said "meher you go down and eat I'm not hungry" meher said "heer di I want to eat from your hands remember the way you used to feed me when I used to get sick or when I used to study for my exams and never had time to eat so you used to say meher you study and I will feed you remember" heer nodded and they both went downstairs geet was happy to see them coming together and they sat in the living room and geet said "ok you guys sit I'm going to the kitchen to prepare for the lunch" meher nodded and heer was sitting on the sofa looking all sad and she was looking to the ground. Meher was sitting beside heer and she put her hand on her shoulder and she said "heer di" heer looked up at meher and she said "meher I'm ok don't worry" meher said "are you sure di?" heer nodded and then she said "ok promise me that you will not cry anymore" heer said "ok i promise" and they both hugged each other and then geet came she said "come on the food is ready" heer and meher both followed geet to the dinning table and they sat there and heer fed meher and only meher knew how she controlled her tears when she was eating from heer's hands because she was showing that she is strong but from inside she was totally broke. Meher then fed heer and geet was enjoying watching them feeding each other and she loved their bonding than geet said "you know you guys are so lucky that you two have each other but unlucky me, you know when my dad left the house I was shattered too but I consoled myself and you know I don't blame my dad for leaving us because my mom never treated him right" meher and heer looked at her sadly and heer said "geet you are not unlucky you have us now me and meher, we are your sisters" geet got up from her chair and she hugged heer and then meher and she aid "thanks" prem was standing near the door watching them talking and he was pleased to see their bonding and then he decided to go and meet them.

Prem came to the dinning table and meher noticed him first she said "jiju come have lunch with us" prem pulled a chair and he sat and geet served him and he started eating his lunch just then geet signalled meher to leave the room and they both went back to the living room leaving prem and heer alone. Heer sat there quietly looking at her empty plate, prem noticed and he said "heer did you have your lunch" heer without looking at him she nodded and prem finished his food and he said "heer bauji wanted to meet you, but we haven't told him anything yet because it will have a major effect on his health and I was wondering if we could go and meet him now" heer said "ok" and she got up and went to her room to get ready. Prem told the girls that he is taking heer to the hospital to meet bauji and now he was waiting for heer in the living room with meher and geet. Heer came down wearing her white salwar kameez and without any make up just a mangalsutar around her neck prem got up from the sofa as soon as he saw her and so did meher and geet, heer came down and stood beside prem looking to the ground and before they can leave geet said "heer bhabhi I know I shouldn't be saying this at this time but I don't think you should go to the hospital like this! Bauji will suspect you especially wearing a white colour so if you don't mind wear some different colour so bauji won't doubt that anything is wrong" heer stared at geet with teary eyes and before her tears can roll down her cheek she ran upstairs.
