Have any of you listened to the songs from Glee? I swear, they are so amazing, I'm getting all high just listening to them! 😳😳😆 If you can't tell that I'm high and listening to them right now, then...just...*shakes head sadly* 😆 Anyway, enough of my nonsense rambling, if you love Glee (okay fine, even if you don't!), then here's the next part to Sajda!

He knew he shouldn't have been there. But the ache to see his daughter was simply too strong, and he succumbed. The doctors would have a field day if they knew that he was out and about instead of resting.

He waited outside her pre-school. Just a glimpse of her, just one glimpse, and his heart would be at peace.

There she was, emerging from the school building, waving goodbye to an unseen person behind her.

He smiled, feeling the tears build up.

She was adorable, in the blue dress that made up her uniform, with her hair pulled back in a braid, wisps of it loose and framing her face. She carelessly pushed the hair back in a gesture that was reminiscent of her mother.

She looked around for Meher, frowning. Where was Mama?

Preet inadvertently took a step closer to her, stepping out of the shadows of the tree, in an attempt to get a better look at her. It didn't cross his mind that if she turned his way, she would see him.

And she did. Her eyes widened. Fear flashed in her eyes, fear at the monster that was looking at her with love in his eyes, and as she realized who that monster was, the fear faded, replaced by affection and surprise and happiness, all at once.

He tried to step back into the shadows, away from her, but it was too late.

She was running to him, her cries of 'Papa!' resounding in the wind.

With nothing left to do, he exposed himself to her, scooping her up in a hug as she threw herself in his arms. She buried her face in his shoulder, and as the tears blurred his vision, he felt her little hands close around his shirt.

"Papa!" she cried, looking up at him with a big smile on her face. "Mama ne kaha ki aap waapas nahin aayenge. Papa, aap waapas kyun nahin aayenge?"

"Beta," he began, trying to compose himself, "woh kya hai na, mujhe…mujhe Canada mein kuch kaam hai, toh issliye main…mujhe Canada mein jaana hai." Preet felt his throat choke up; the lie had been so easy to tell.

"Oh," Gungun nodded, accepting his explanation. Then she pouted. "Papa, Heer Maasi aur Kulraaj Bua mujhse keh rahein hain ki ab Viren Uncle mera papa hai," she complained, her bottom lip trembling. "Lekin mere Papa toh aap hain." And she hugged his neck again, tighter this time.

"Haan, beta, lekin…" A lump formed in Preet's throat, hampering his speech. Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to go on. "Lekin ab tumhe Viren Uncle ko Papa bulana chahiye. Jab main Canada mein hoonga, toh Viren Uncle tumhare khayaal rakhega. Theek hai?"

Gungun looked up at him sadly. "Theek hai."

"Gungun?" Meher's frantic voice echoed through the compound.

Gungun turned to look for her mother. "Mama!"

Preet set her down, and she ran to her mother.

"Mama! Mama, Papa yahaan hai!" Gungun shrieked as she reached her mother.

Meher's heart raced. "Beta, tum kaisi baatein kar rahi ho?" she chided her, kneeling down and enveloping her daughter in a hug.

Gungun squirmed away from her. "Sach mein, Mama! Maine Papa ko dekha! Woh wahaan par hai." She turned and pointed, but Preet was gone. She frowned. "Papa kahaan chaley gaye?"

Meher's eyes searched for him, but he wasn't there. Of course he wasn't, her mind reprimanded herself. He was dead.

"Papa toh waheen they," Gungun murmured, confused.

Meher picked her daughter up. "Chalo, hum ghar chalte hain."

Casting one final look in the direction Gungun had pointed out, Meher left, a lump in her throat as Gungun tried to convince her that she had indeed seen her father.

aww that was my favorite part so far of this SS. I really really wanted to see gungun and Preet scenes in the show. that was just so adorable, how preet wanted to see her and preet convicing her to call viren Papa( even though, I think gungun should have told him that her mama said not to call viren papa) . I also loved how you captured gungun's innocence so well! It broke my heart when preet told her that lie. I so wish the show still came on just so we could see all this happening on tv! But we would have had to hounded them with our story or else god knows how they would have shown preet's come back. Okay enough of my ranting....amazing part and I can't wait for the next one!

Gungun is such a sweetheart! I totally fell in love with this, no one writes tragedy like you! Brought a lump to my throat! Amazing!

So I totally realised that Valentine's Day would be the PERFECT day to post the last part of Sajda, so here it is! 😳

Keeping his selfish wish silent in his heart, Preet prayed to Ganeshji to help him get the job that he had an interview for today, and to keep Meher happy. He opened his eyes and accepted the Prasad from the priest. He bowed his head to the idol of Ganesh once again, thanking Him silently, then turned and left the mandir.

Preet glanced around, spending a moment to take in his surroundings as he descended the stairs. The mandir was crowded this Monday morning, but he didn't mind. Now that the scars were fading he didn't look as much a monster as he had a couple of weeks ago.

Stepping onto the sidewalk, Preet looked around for an auto. Instead of one, though, his gaze fell on a lady in an orange and white salwaar kurta who was crossing the road, clearly unaware of the truck that was speeding towards her. His heart leaped to his mouth as he recognized the woman as Meher.

Days had passed since Gungun's insistence that she had seen Preet at school, but Meher hadn't been able to stop thinking about that. She had spent every minute of the past few days thinking about Preet, and she couldn't help but think she was happier than she had been since he…

No, he wasn't dead, she thought with a frown. There was no way he could be. Not after…

A horn sounded, blasting into her thoughts. She blinked, stopping, and looked up just in time to see a truck coming right at her.

Her eyes widened as a scream bubbled up in the back of her throat.

Just before she screamed, someone knocked into her, pushing her away from the path of the truck. The silver thali she had brought with her fell to the ground, as did she and her savior. She watched as the truck drove over the thali. Her heart pounded in her chest as her breath came up in sharp, quick pants.

She turned her eyes to her savior. Her eyes widened as they looked into a pair of familiar dark brown ones.

"Tum kya kar rahi thi? Dekh ke nahin chal sakti ho kya? Humare bachchey ka zara sa bhi khayaal nahin hai?"

She stared speechlessly at him as he chided her, and in his eyes she could only see love.

Her lips made out one word. His name.

"Preet."

I know, the ending kinda sucks, doesn't it? 😆 But hey, I like it this way. So nyah. 😛 Anyway, happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Even though it's just an overcommercialized excuse to spend money on chocolates and roses, everyone likes to feel special on V-Day, so, in order to make all of you feel special, have a red velvet cupcake! :D Thank you guys for supporting me in my FFs/OSes and whatnot, you guys are the reason I write! 😳
