PART 14

Meher and Preet reached the office and walked through the front entrance towards the elevator. They were waiting for the elevator to come up from the basement. The doors opened and Preet saw his secretary, Tasnime, standing in the elevator, holding hands of her boyfriend, Sushant. Preet looked at Meher who was looking at the couple in the elevator with wide eyes. She must be wondering that this is what goes on in his office Preet thought. They entered the elevator but the other couple was still lost in their own world.

Preet(clearing his throat to bring the couple back to reality, back to the office): Hi Tas!
Tasnime(she angrily looks at the person who interrupted her morning romance and her face went colourless to see her boss standing in the elevator. she quickly left Sushant's hands and embarrassingly answered): Hi sir!
Sushant(feeling embarrassed too to be caught like this in the office): Sir woh…woh..woh main tasnime ko office drop kerne aya tha!
Preet(trying to control his laughter to see the couple like that): I can see that! (Looks towards Meher who was enjoying this scene) This is my wife, Meher.
Tasnime(smiles): Hi maam
Sushant: Hello
Meher(smiles): Hi.

Before anyone could say anything else, the elevator stopped moving and the lights went out.

Tasnime(freaking out): Yeh kya hua? Sushant kahan ho tum? (moves her hands in the air to find Sushant)
Sushant(Tasnime finds him soon and holds his arms since he was standing close to her): Tasnime main yahin hun. dont worry.shayad elevator kharab ho gayi.
Meher(she starts freaking out too): kya? kharab? yahan to itna andhera hai. mujhe kuch nahi dikh raha. mujhe bauhat darr lagta hai andhere se. Preet kahan ho tum? Preet?
Preet: Meh..(before he could say further, he felt someone grabbing his arm.he knew it was Meher since her bangles were touching him) Meher?
Meher(holding his arm, she came close to him): Haan Preet. Preet elevator kaisay theek hogi? please kuch karo. mujhe andhere se bauhat darr lagta hai(she moves closer to Preet. She forgot the distance between her and Preet for the moment. She was too scared right now)
Preet(he places his hand on Meher's hand to clam her down and it seemed to work): Meher, dont worry theek ho jayegi elevator. Main hun na! (Meher clutches his arm tighter and closes her eyes. The ligths come back and the elevator starts working but Meher is unaware of this since her eyes ware shut) Meher! Meher!
Meher(her eyes still close): kya hua Preet?
Preet: Meher, light aa gayi aur elevator chal rahi hai.

Meher opened her eyes and saw light. She also noticed she was holding Preet and she was standing very close to him. She looked at him and Preet smiled. Her face turned red and she moved back.

They soon reached the desired floor and got out of the elevator while Sushant stayed in the elevator.

Preet: Bye Sushant
Meher: bye
Sushant: Bye!

Tasnime was too shy to bid goodbye due to the event that happened in the elevator. They all walked into the office. Tasnime turned around to catch a glimpse of Sushant and Sushant gave her a flying kiss before the elevator doors closed. They entered the office and greeted everyone. They were informed that the elevator stopped working because the electricity went out and the generator took sometime to start today.

Soon they reached Preet's cabin. Preet told Meher to sit down while he made some calls to gather the staff for a meeting. He hung up and noticed a photo frame on his desk. He quickly hid it in his drawer while Meher was looking around the office.

Preet(sitting down on his chair): Woh thori dair main meeting hai project ke liye. hum log thora discuss ker laingay project ko aur tum sab se mil bhi laina.
Meher: theek hai
Preet:aur office kaisa laga tumhe?
Meher: acha hai bauhat.

There was a knock on the door and Preet knew who it would be.

Preet: come in Tas.
Tasnime(she entered with some tea and started serving Preet): Meher maam, app tea laingi?
Meher: No, thanks. Preet tum office aa ker bhi nashta kerte ho? (she was amazed how much this guy could eat!)
Preet(embarrassed): haan bas chai peeta hun.
Tasnime: Sir app jhoot kyun bol rahay hain! app chai ke saath biscuits bhi laitay hain!
Preet(he looked at Tasnime with anger for embarrassing him in front of his wife): Haan woh kabhi kabhi.

Tasnime put the tea kettle down and kept staring at Preet while Preet was busy sipping his tea. Meher noticed Tasnime staring at Preet and she felt uncomfortable, maybe jealous, that a girl was staring at her husband.

Preet(changing the subject): Tas, maine suna hai tumhari engagement ho gayi Sushant se?
Tasnime(still starting): Yes Sir.
Preet(looking at her): Congrats!

Tasnime quickly moved her eyes away from Preet when he looked at her and looked at the desk. She noticed something.

Tasnime: Sirrrrr!!
Preet(shocked by her loud voice): Kya hua tas?
Tasnime: Sirrr, office main koi chor aaya tha! (she started going around the room)
Preet(confused. he stands up and Meher does the same): kya? Tas yahan koi chor nahi aya! (Meher was confused too)
Tasnime: Sir main keh rahi hun na aya tha! yeh dekhe (she pointed towards the desk) app ki desk par jo photo frame hota hai woh nahi hai!
Preet(he looked at Tasnime and tried to tell her to stop talking through his eyes but obviously she was not understanding. The photo frame had Meher's picture in it and he didnt want Meher to know so he hid it earlier): Tas, meri desk par koi frame nahi tha!
Tasnime: phir jhoot! sir aj app itna jhoot kyun bol rahay hain? app ki desk par frame tha aur us main appki wife ki photo bhi thi!
Meher(she looked at Preet surprisingly thinking why would he have her photo on the desk): Meri photo…
Tasnime: Yes, Maam.
Preet(he went towards Tasnime and pushed her out of the room before she embarrassed him more): Tas, tumhe aj bauhat saray kaam hai.tum jao!!
Meher(standing and still confused): meri photo kyun thi tumhari desk par?
Preet(nervous): woh..woh Meher family photo thi! us main tum bhi thi.(relaxed for coming up with this excuse. he didnt want Meher to know that he kept her photo on his desk and stare at it while he would work and miss her)
Meher(still unsure): to kahan hai woh photo?
Preet: umm..woh frame toot gaya tha to maine sahi kerne dia hai! tum betho.
Meher(sitting down): ok

Preet sat on his chair and started doing something on his laptop to avoid Meher's questioning. Meher was lost in her own thoughts. Her mind drifted off to Tasnime. She remembered how she was looking at Preet. She hesitantly asked Preet. She could ask this from a friend she thought.

Meher(nervous): Woh Preet, Tasnime tumhe ghoor ghoor ker kyun dekh rahi thi?
Preet(he looked up from his laptop and saw Meher. He could see jealousy on her face. He grinned to know that Meher was jealous that some girl was looking at him. he wanted to make her more jealous): pata nahi. shayad main usay acha lagta hun! (Meher looked at him shockingly) Kyun, tum kyun pooch rahi ho?(he looked deep into her eyes)
Meher(she lowered her eyes with sadness. So Tasnime likes him. What is wrong with you Meher she told herself. Why was she reacting this way. Why was she feeling sad that someone liked Preet.) nahi, bas aise hi pooch rahi thi.
Preet(grinning): ok! kahin tum jealous to nahi ho rahi na Meher?
Meher(she looked up. She was obviously not jealous she told herself but she was feeling something): Jealous? main kyun jealous feeling karungi?
Preet: I dont know. tum batao! (He waited for Meher to say something but she didnt say anything. She was too embarrassed and confused) kahin tum jealous to nahi ke tumhare husband ki secretary usay pasand kerti hai?
Meher: Nahi.Main bilkul bhi jealous nahi!
Preet(he was so happy to see Meher getting jealous. He was liking this jealousy coming from his wife): Sure! (Meher lowered her eyes and sank in her chair. She felt like a thief who was caught red handedly) waisay Meher, just to let you know, Tasnime mujhe isliye dekhti hai kyun ke main us ke finace, Sushant, main bauhat milta hun. (Meher smiled inwardly. Preet was right. He did resemble Sushant. and it made perfect sense that Tasnime was staring at Preet because he looked like her fiance)
Preet: Tas loves Sushant a lot. To tell you the truth, jab Tas ne job join ki thi to shuru main bhi darr gaya tha ke yeh mujhe itna ghoorti kyun hai!(they both laughed at this) phir maine us say aik din pooch hi lia aur tab usne mujhe Sushant se milwaya. phir main samjha. nahi to she almost lost her job! She is a nice girl. bas kabhi kabhi bauhat ajeeb harkatain kerti hai.

Preet and Meher both laughed at this. Meher was satisfied to know that Tasnime didnt like Preet. She didnt know why it made her satisfied. Preet was also happy to see Meher getting jealous.

Soon they went to the meeting that Preet had called earlier. Preet introduced Meher to the staff and informed them she will be helping them with the project now. They were all delighted to meet Meher and Meher felt the same. They discussed the project and enlightened Meher with the project details. They were all discussing when Preet received a phone call. He didnt want to interrupt the meeting so he went outside to take the important call.

Preet(outside the meeting room): Hi Nihaal.
Nihaal: Hi Preet!
Preet: kahan hai yaar tu? aur is waqt kyun call ki? (it was unusual for Nihaal to call at this time as he knew Preet would be in his office at this time and doesnt like someone calling him in the office)
Nihaal: Yaar woh mujhe tujhse kuch zaroori baat kerni thi.
Preet: Haan bol.
Nihaal: Nahi, phone par nahi.
Preet: to phir?
Nihaal: tu aj shaam mere ghar aa sakta hai?
Preet: Haan theek hai.
Nihaal: chal bye. shaam ko miltay hai. bhabhi ko hi kehna.
Preet: Haan theek hai. bye.see u.

Preet went back to the meeting room wondering what could be so important that Nihaal called him at this time and asked him to meet.



So here is part 14! i have introduced Tasnime in this part. many of you know her. I had to bribe her for something so gave her this role 😆 i hope u r happy and satisfied now Tas! 😆 btw, accept this as a gift (u know no bribery in canada. we call it a gift 😆)

i love it! Tasnime's part is awesome and her character is as cute as her in real life! Really good job...i love how you used her so many times to really illustrate the realization of love for preet and meher!
