Rajveer, Heer's best friend, is no less stubborn. He doesn't believe in that "meant-to-be" mumbo jumbo, he thinks that if there is something worthwhile in this world, you have to chase it, it will almost never come to you. I mean why else is such a wonderful and beautiful lady like Heer still single? She hasn't been looking, that's why! If destiny was so great, why wouldn't a person like Heer get what she deserves? This is exactly why Rajveer has been trying to find the perfect guy for Heer.

It has been two years in this charade and neither is willing to budge yet. But then came a day where both were proven right and wrong.

Rajveer enters his house "Mom! I'm Home! What's for dinner, I'm starving!" No one answered back. "Maaa!" Searching the kitchen, dining room, family room, and then decides to go check upstairs in her room. Aha, he had found her and was just about to ask her about dinner when he noticed she was on the phone. She was smiling hugely, he rarely see that kind of smile on the phone unless it's someone she hasn't heard from in a long time. He figured it must be some distant relatives in Canada or London.

"Haan, and you better come to my place first or I won't talk to you for a long, long time." She laughing now as Rajveer laid down on his mother's bed. She grinned at him and was brushing through his hair like she did when she put oil in his hair.

"Rajveer is right here next to me and as soon as I tell him no one will be happy as he's going to be, so don't disappoint him!" He looked up at her curious now. What was going to make him happy? Who is coming over? Just then his stomach growled. "Gayatri, listen I'll talk to you later, Rajveer's hungry and I still have to make dinner, I'll call you back tomorrow morning, does that sound good?" She paused and then "Okay, alright, okay, bye!"

Rajveer sat up now, no dinner? Gayatri aunty? "Mom what's going on?"

"Beta, remember you best friend Prem Juneja? The boy you and Heer played with when you guys were little? We'll their family is shifting back here. They're at a airport in Europe somewhere and should be here by tomorrow afternoon"

Rajveer didn't have to think much, just the cue of his name brought up a very familiar face in his memories. His best friend (well technically best guy friend, because Heer was his other best friend) was coming back! All the good memories flooded back and he started smiling, he could use Prem to his advantage! He started jumping up and down and little did he know he was singing aloud "Prem is coming back, ha ha ha ha ha!"

His mother started laughing "Okay, off the bed now, and while I make dinner clean around the house for the guest tomorrow" After he cleaned things up and ate dinner he went over to Heer's and tells her the good news.

By 3:00pm Prem's flight had landed in India, they caught a cab and reached Ludhiana (the city where everyone once lived together) at 4:00pm. Everyone was waiting for their return and was greeted with a great celebration. Almost everyone had hugged each other; and it came time for the Juneja's to reunite with the Mann's.

Upon seeing Heer, Prem lost his breath, his heart raced, and his face flushed, she was more beautiful than he had imagined and remembered. The wind blew from her direction to Prem and he could smell the sweet fragrance of her hair and body and when he embraced her he could tell it was no perfume, the sweet aroma was part of her. How he wished to capture it all and breathe it till death. When she let go, he hands fell with a shock and sadness, how he wished he could hold her forever. What he remember as a small childhood crush (that he still could not let go of) as what he yearns to call love.

Unfortunately, Heer felt nothing of the sort Prem felt. Although, she could tell when his arms were around her, the air had somehow gotten thicker, and she felt something odd in the back of her head. But all she had to know was that she didn't like it, it made her feel…some sort of vulnerable or something of that sort undefined. Even when they had let go-ed of each other, she could feel the static of his arm to hers, and found his fallen yet somewhat happy face odd. All throughout the celebration she could hint his eyes on hers-and so could Rajveer. While she was mystified by the curious stares, Rajveer was elated. This was working easier than he had planned.

Over the next few days, they would all hang out with each other, though Heer tried to keep her distance from Prem as he tried to advance towards her. About a week later after Prem left to go home, Heer and Rajveer were sitting together on Rajveer's swing.

They were argueing again about Prem, lately every time they were alone, Prem always found a way to bother them in conversations.

"Heer, he thinks you're beautiful you should just give him a chance" Rajveer would always tell her. And Herr would always find an excuse to end to the conversation and turn Prem down.

One Saturday, Heer was sitting home alone. She was in her sweats and a T-shirt, with her hair just thrown up in a mess bun. She heard a knock on the door. While walking to the door she wondered who it could be; Rajveer was gone to his cricket practice, and her parent went out a friend's place. She didn't know why, but she was a little nervous. When she opened the door, she was shocked-it was Prem. Her jaw just dropped, and she understood the nervousness.

Prem sighed and said "He lied to me didn't he?"
"What do you mean?" Heer asked.
"Rajveer told me you'd be up to hang out today and that I should pick you up. But you look really surprised so I'm guessing you didn't know. I'll just leave." he said

Heer become so mad at Rajveer, she thought she was going to blow, but at the same time she felt really bad and didn't want the boys to get in a fight. "Oh, Damn! I'm so sorry he did tell me about it, I just forgot, I'm really sorry Prem let me just get ready."

He smiled real big and said "I think you look great like that" blushing a little.
Heer giggled and thanked him but still insisted that she put a pair of jeans on.

Prem took Heer out to lunch and then to this local band playing, it was really great. She realized Prem really was a sweet guy and he wasn't horrible looking, in fact he was quite handsome.

It was getting dark, so they head back to Heer's house. Once there, Heer invites him to sit with her in the front porch for a little while.

Suddenly, Prem starts laughing. "Whats so funny?" Heer giggled.

"I know you only came today because you felt bad. I know you had no idea about this whole thing. And at first it bugged me. But I had such an amazing time with you I don't really mind. Sorry if that sounds selfish" he said.

Heer blushed a little and said "Prem, I had a great time today. I'm glad Rajveer lied to the both of us too. Hahaha, hopefully he'll lie to us again maybe next Saturday?"

"Oh gosh I sure hope so. Maybe you'll show up at my house all dressed up that time"

They both laugh for a while and then Prem stops and looks at Heer for a little bit and says "Do you want to take a walk? There's something I need to show you."

"Sure" she replied.

They talk the whole time walking; he tells her all about his life and for some reason she felt like she's known Prem a lot longer then she thought.

"Why do you looked so confused?" he asked

"I don't know it's just… I feel like I've known you forever and this isn't our first time hanging out like this. I mean I know we use to hang out when we were little-although my memory is blotchy- but now for some reason I feel like I've known you my whole life, like there is a bigger picture I was supposed to see but hadn't seen till now."

Prem smiled so big you couldn't believe it. It also looked like he was going to cry. He brings her deep into the woods and shows her an old tree house. He takes her up into it and shows her something written on the wall.

It said: "Heer+Prem forever and ever <3"

Heer looked at it and felt a little weird. "Umm, Prem this is a little weird" she admitted.
"I know. But you wrote It." he said. She looked at him so confused.

"We were best friends all throughout elementary school Heer. We first kissed when we were 8. We were inseparable, we stayed together all throughout elementary. Our parents told us it wasn't true love, but we were in love. I loved you so much it hurt... and then one day the summer going into 6th grade, you fell out of this tree house. You lost some of your memory. People came to see you and you just recognized them, you didn't have memories of them. Your mom blamed me for the whole thing and told me I could never see you again. I've waited my whole life to tell you. But I thought you'd call me crazy. I never stopped loving you. Not even now."

He was crying now, and it all starts to come back to her. The tree house, the kiss, everything. The rush was so overwhelming she falls over, but Prem runs over and holds her up.

Everything made sense now, why she felt the shock and eerie when she embraced Prem again, the loving stares and looks he gave her, how he seemed to be lost in her. It no longer felt odd and weird but touching, loving, and caring. She was awed. She finally understood why Rajveer was so happy that he was coming back. He knew Prem would be the reason I would start my love story. He knew that even though I don't remember the love I shared with Prem, I would realize he was a great guy and fall for him again.

"I'm so sorry I forgot you Prem. I remember it all now. I don't know how I could forget you. I've felt so empty all these years and never knew why. And now I think I know." she was crying now too and he held her closer and tighter.

Prem was laughing and crying because he was just so happy. "It's okay baby I forgive you I always did. I just want to be with you now and forever" he said.

They stayed like that for a long time, in the arms of each other, till night fell.
He walked her back home, where she asked him to come inside. He was about to answer when Heer's mom came out and as soon as she saw Prem, her jaw dropped.

"Prem told me everything mom. I LOVED HIM HE WAS MY OTHER HALF HOW COULD YOU JUST TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME LIKE THAT?" Heer cried. Not able to watch Heer cry any longer, Prem takes her aside and holds her close as she cried on his chest. They could hear Heer's mom speaking "Beta, I wasn't like that, I was trying to protect you, I…I'm sorry, forgive me" Which made Heer cried harder.

"It's okay baby. We're together now don't worry about the past now." And then he gave her the most magical passionate filled kiss anyone has ever given anyone in history. It was amazing.

So this is where the most beautiful, most eternal, love story begun once again. It had been destiny who brought Prem back in to Heer's life, but she also had to get herself out there to him.
