Heyy ji... I have been reading one shot's and surprise shots for a long time now... So i thought, why not write one of my own (though i have already written one before)?... Well anyways, this is one based on the song Mannata (from Heroes)... It's one of my personal favourite's... And this surprise shot is dedicated to the person who's one shots i enjoy very much... I hope she likes it...😃😃
Preet was depressed. The love of his life, the only one he wanted, was now going to be someone else's, while he too would be married off to another girl. Preet's only wish was to keep her close to him forever, but sadly, this was not going to work out.

Preet thinks back to the first time he met her ' he was at the traffic signal, and saw her from his car window, coming out from a shop. It was love at first sight for Prem. Her beauty just blew him off.

She kept coming into his dreams every night, and he couldn't sleep in peace because of her. Preet longed for the time when he would see her for the second time, and alas - the time was not far away. Just about a week after he first saw her, she came to his house. It turned out that her dad and his dad were childhood friends, and they wanted to turn their friendship into a relation.
Preet got excited, thinking that they brought her rishta for him, but it they were actually talking about his elder brother Prem. Yes, their families wanted Prem and Aradhna to get married. At first Preet couldn't believe it. He didn't even get a chance to tell Aradhna that he loved her, and now, she was going to belong to someone else - his elder brother.
His parents wanted both brothers to get married in the same mandap, at the same time. True, Preet wouldn't mind letting her go if she didn't love him, or if she was going to get married into another house. However, Preet saw Aradhna's love for him in her eyes, and moreover, with her in the same house, Preet knew he wouldn't be able to face her, nor the rest of his family. Yet, Preet still wished that somehow, god would perform a miracle, and Aradhna would be his.

But, time was slipping out of his hands. 5 hours...4 hours...3 hours...2 hours...1 hour...30 minutes...and now, only 10 minutes left for him to get married. He wasn't able to refuse his parents, and accepted their decision to get married. And now, Preet was already waiting in the mandap. Soon, even the 10 minutes passed, and his bride came and sat down beside him. At this point in time, Preet lost his faith and trust in his god. His love for Aradhna was true, yet, god seemed to be testing it time and again. And now, Preet couldn't handle it anymore.

It was not time for the pheras, but Preet got up abruptly, startling everyone. And, he spoke up, "Main yeh shaadi nahin kar sakta."
All the guests looked astonished at Preet made the sudden announcement. Lalit and Gayatri, Preet's parents came forward to talk to him. And Lalit questioned him, "Kyun Preet bete? Tum yeh shaadi kyun nahin kar sakte?"
"Kyunki main isse pyaar nahin karta." Preet says, pointing to his to-be-bride. He then turns back to his parents to explain further, when he hears a voice saying "Preet, tum mujhse pyaar nahin karte?"
"That sounds like Aradhna's voice," Preet thinks, turning around to face his dulhann. Preet watched as his bride lifts her veil, and much to his surprise, it is Aradhna.
"Kya kaha Preet, tum mujhse pyaar nahin karte?" repeats Aradhna.
"Aisi koi baat nahin. Main toh' Lekin ek baat bolo' Yeh sab kaise? Aur Prem bhaiyya se shaadi...?" stutters Preet, with a mixture of happiness, as well as confusion at the current happenings.
Preet turns to Prem and his to-be-wife, and as she lifts up her veil, Preet sees that she is none other than Meera, the one who was about to marry him.
"Pehle toh tum hum sab ko ullu banate the na? Aaj dekho, humne tumhein ullu banaya hai." Lalit tells Preet.
Then, Lalit and Gayatri explain how they found out that Preet actually loved Aradhna - they came upon his diary. They spoke to Aradhna's parents about it, and found out that Aradhna too had feelings for Preet, but never came around to tell anyone about them. Yet, her parents too somehow found out when she was praying (out loud) to god, to perform a miracle. All this happened just 2 days before. The parents talked, and finally came to a conclusion that it is best Prem and Meera get married, while Preet marries Aradhna - afterall, to settle the life of one brother, they couldn't destroy the life of another. Moreover, Prem was the sort who believed in arranged marriages ' he would fall in love with his wife after their marriage - and he didn't really love Aradhna too - Meera was more his type.
Everything explained and finally settled, Prem and Preet sit down at the mandap with their respective wives. In his mind, Preet apologizes god, for having lost his trust for some time, and also thanks god for granting his wish - for making the one he loves his, for making Aradhna his.

The marriage rituals continue as how they were going, expect now, there is a wide smile on Preet's face. As Preet takes the pheras with Aradhna, he wishes to be with Aradhna for not only the next birth, but also all the births to come.

After the completion of the pheras, Preet puts the sindoor on Aradhna, as well as the mangalsutra around her neck. As he does, Preet goes closer to her, and whispers "I Love You" in her ears. Aradhna blushes at this, and when Preet's hand brushes against her neck after he finishes, she blushes more. Preet manages to catch her blushing, and his smile widens.

Soon enough, all the marriage rituals are completed. The bidaai takes place, and Aradhna cries as she is led away, from her parents, her maayka. She sits in the car where Preet is already waiting for her, and as the car begins to move, she turns towards Preet, who hugs her.
