In Los Angeles

"Eee Rushvi!" Rushvi gets overwhelmed as her friend Serena rushes towards her. "Can you believe it?"

"Obviously not!" Rushvi laughs as she walks with Serena towards their first lecture. "I mean you know me and my horrible luck; I was just trying for the heck of it, and voila, I got connected!"

"You're so crazy!" Serena laughed as she ran ahead of Rushvi to get good seats for the lecture.

Rushvi sighs as she sits down next to Serena in the fourth row up from the professor right then her cell phone beeps. "You talked to ROB?? Are you serious? I can't call right now; need to go in for my first day at work, how about an msn convo late tonight? Your time?" Rushvi giggles. "Sounds exactly like Maya!" She quickly texts her back a message, "Works for me! I'll text when I get home!" Rushvi sighs as she takes out her laptop and boots it up, and while everyone else is busy researching their essays, Rushvi takes a quick detour to Robert Pattinson's blog to find out his latest news. There she finds out that MTV is holding a special contest where people can enter and win a chance to meet and greet the stars of Twilight.

"Guess what, guess what?" Rushvi whispers to Serena.

"What? I'm trying to understand this!" Serena whispers back.

"Biology's really not that interesting!" Rushvi rolls her eyes. "Besides I've got better news! MTV's got a contest going on, where you can meet the stars of Twilight!!" She holds Serena's shoulders and shakes her.

"Oh my god! That's amazing!" Serena mocks Rushvi's tone of voice. "And what makes you think you're going to win?" She rolls her eyes.

"Way to make me feel positive about it," Rushvi slumps her shoulders and goes back to her laptop to read the contest rules and regulations.

About 20 minutes into the lecture, Serena leans over Rushvi's shoulder and sees her hesitating to press the send button. "Why aren't you pressing it?"

Rushvi sighs and looks at Serena. "What if you're right and I don't win?"

"Me and my big mouth," Serena muttered under her breath. "Don't listen to me, it's not like you usually do anyways, but still, just enter! You never know what could happen?"

Rushvi looks in Serena's direction and gives her a small smile. "You're right." She closes her eyes and presses send before any more hesitations pop up.

In Mumbai

Maya walks onto her balcony fully dressed, ready for work in her blue capri's and a white peasant top and sighs while pacing from side to side.

"Something bothering you?" she hears a man's voice ask her.

She quickly turns round and round to find where the voice came from till she catches Alekh's eye on the balcony next door.

"What are you doing out here?" Maya asks.

"This is where I always come. It calms me," Alekh says as he sips from some green concoction.

"All this," Maya gestures to the traffic down below, "calms you?"

"Well not so much the noise as much as the scenery," Alekh reasons. "Anyways we were discussing you and your anxiousness,"

Maya smiles hearing Alekh's choice of words. "I'm just nervous over my first day,"

Alekh leans over the side of the balcony that they both share. "Where are you headed?"

"I need to go to sikanagar studios," Maya replies. "Do you know where it is?"

Alekh nods. "Yup, and I can give you a ride,"

"Really?"

"Sure, I need to meet my friend there anyways,"

"Awesome, what time?" Maya asks.

"Well I need to meet him at 2, what time's your appointment?" Alekh asks, taking another sip and cringing.

"Mine's at 2 too. If you don't like it, why are you drinking it?" Maya asks making a face.

"It's healthy, and plus my friend thinks it'll help be become 'buffer' like him," Alekh laughs. "His words, not mine,"

"Which friend is this?" Maya asks laughing.

"Harshad Chopra, you'll meet him sometime soon!"

"Great," Maya replies sarcastically. "God knows what he'll make me drink?"

"Since it'll be your first time meeting him, he won't force you," Alekh smiles. "But after

that, who knows?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Anyways, I'll meet you in the lobby in 20 minutes?" Maya asks.

"Sure, see you then!" Alekh nods as she disappears inside the apartment.

20 Minutes Later

"You're two minutes late," Alekh laughs as Maya walks towards him.

"I was apprehensive," Maya says as he leads her to the parkade.

"Oh, why?" Alekh questions as he unlocks the car doors.

"I obviously am new to the city, and don't know you or anything. How do I know you're not taking me somewhere—somewhere sleazy?" Maya bites her lip as she puts her hand on the door.

"Good question," Alekh says as he sits in his Hyundai Santro and gestures for her to sit down as well.

She sits and looks at him. "Aren't you going to tell me that I'm nuts?"

"Why would I say that?" he asks as he turns around to reserve out of the parking stall.

"Because it's true?" Maya laughs.

"Well you already know. So there's no point to re-establish that fact."

They both drive off in silence towards the studio, just listening to the radio, till Alekh pulls up to the entrance. "You go on ahead and call me on my cell when you're done,"

"I don't have your number," Maya points out.

"Give me yours and I'll miss call you," Alekh says quickly taking out his cell phone.

"9897276440" Maya rattles off as he punches them into his phone.

"Got it," Alekh says as he dials and presses send, and right then Maya's phone starts ringing with the tune of "Haule Haule," playing out.

"Cute ring tone," Alekh laughs as she leaves.

Maya gives him a small smile as she walks into the building. "Where do I go?" She notices someone walking around in peon's clothes and so she stops him. "Mujhe Nivedita Basu ke office mein jaana hain,"

"Aap kaun hain?" he asks her.

"Maya—Maya Dave,"

"Aaye," He leads her to an elevator which takes her to the 3^rd floor. "Last room on the right side,"

"Thank-you," Maya says as he disappears down the stairs again. She blows out a sharp breath of air as she makes her way to the office and slowly knocks.

"Come in," She hears a lady from inside.

Maya puts her hand on the doorknob and walks inside.
