Many in the entertainment industry (including the media of course) have been worrying themselves with thoughts of Ekta Kapoor's wedding. Will she? Won't she? Why won't she? Unlike actresses, the thinking goes, Ekta should have no problems managing career with marriage. So what's causing the delay.
Ekta turns 35 next year and brother Tusshar, who is a year younger and also unmarried and unlinked to any girl, said Ekta had not found the right partner and was waiting for that special person to arrive. In view of that, he said, she would definitely not be getting married this year.
Asked about his sister's 'link-up' with Karan Johar, another enigmatic unmarried and unlinked personality, Tusshar brushed it off saying that the two were great friends and both successful in their own way. They were friends, he added, because they shared much in common, but a desire to get married to each other was not one of them.
Unfortunately, Ekta's professional life is also in the doldrums. Star replaced her big 'K' serials with other shows and her company hasn't been performing as well as it used to eight years ago when she had more than three dozen shows on air, many of them super-successful.
Currently, Ekta's company has these shows on air: Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil and Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna (Star Plus), Aane Ko Hai (Colors), Bandini and Kitani Mohabbat Hai (NDTV Imagine) and Pavitra Rishta, which launched on Zee TV this week.
As she struggles to put her company back into the forefront of television once again, her well-wishers and fans will definitely be hoping that she sorts out her life partner soon as well.
