Khuda Jaane/ Shall We Dance
"It's 9pm Meera! Where are you?" yelled Meera's room mate Ravjot over Meera's cellphone.
Meera quickly ran through the deserted local streets of Mumbai, India, when it suddenly started to drizzle. "Chill Ravu babboo! I am perfectly fit and fine!" Meera says, trying to calm Ravjot down. Meera could hear Ravjot mumble something and tended to ignore it.
"Whatever! Just hurry up and get back home!" Ravjot ordered, and before Meera could say anything back in return, Ravjot angryly slapped the 'End' button on her LG Shine.
Yeh Ravjot bhi na! Meera says, giggling. Suddenly, it starts to pour heavy rain, and Meera quickly, finding herself getting soaked, she reacts quickly, placing her duppatta over her head, runs to the nearest shelter she could find. A little road-side coffee shop. Running, Meera enters the coffee shop, just to see, she had not entered alone, and along with her, came a tall, broad figure. A guy, obviously. After noticing that he had entered with a girl, he looks up at Meera. His deep chestnut coloured eyes, staring directly at hers. Their gazes meeting. To Meera, he seemed nothing less then a God like figure. His body structure and jaw line shaped perfectly. Meera swooned with his body heat interacting with hers. It felt as if her dream was finally coming true. Meeting her Mr. Right, in the monsoon season. R for Rain and R for Romantic. Meera kept staring at her 'Mr. Right' and he did the same. A ting of blush flowed through both his and Meera's body. They both quickly take thier eyes off each other, and their cheeks turn a deep cherry colour, well, Meera's did.
"Babuji, aap aur bhabhiji, kuch lena chahenge? Chai, malai mar ke?" the chai wala bhaiya asks.
Meera and Prem blush and try to hide their discomfort when Prem suddenly breaks the quietness and asks chai wala bhaiya to make 2 chai's.
"Bhaiya, do chai please." Prem says, with this velvety voice leaving an everlasting expression on Meera's heart.
The bhaiyaa nods his head and moves back to making chai, while Prem puts his hands in his jean pockets, while Meera quietly stands there, rubbing her arms. Uncomfortable, but for some reason Meera found herself liking it.
Prem looks at Meera and sees her shivering and without saying anything, takes his black leather jacket off his perfectly strong body and places it around Meera's shoulders. As he did so, his hands rubbed against Meera's making shivers run through her spine -not because of the cold, but because of the perfect God like figure's touch. It was magical. Something sensational. Something that someone only used to get to feel once in thier whole life time. Meera blushed and then smiled to herself. She quietly looks up at Prem, and gives him a 'You didn't have to do this for me' expression.
"Don't bother about it. You were cold and wet." he replies back.
Meera smiles, in awe of this total hot hunk that was beside her. Atleast she knew that he had a heart now. Meera smiles and turns her head to face the other way, in a hope of hiding her embarrassment. When she turns around, she finds Prem still staring at her, which makes her uncomfortable.
"What are you looking at?" she asks, polietly.
"Something beautiful" he answers back, trying to hide his smile. Meera blushed more, and stared at the ground and then back up.
"Thanks but no thanks. I don't appreciate such jokes." Meera answers back, sure that Prem calling her beautiful was a joke but a part of her wished it wasn't. Ofcourse! It had to be a joke. There were thousands of other faces in the world that were more beautiful then hers, weren't there?
Prem's expression changed from a happy one to a confused one. "Why?" he asks, frowning.
"Well, firstly, I am not the prettiest girl in the world. So obiviously, there HAS to be someone better then me and more gorgeous, more beautiful, more nicer, more beautiful. Hasn't there?" Meera questions.
Prem laughs out loud. "I don't know what you are blabbling on about Miss. You are the only girl that I saw with the most beautiful, gorgeous eyes! You are amazing! You are like an angel, and I swear. This is not a joke." Prem says, acting serious.
Meera had no words, but only red cheeks to answer Prem. She wanted to tell him how much she appreciated him, but before she could say anything, chai arrived. Prem and Meera took a seat on a lil bench type straw bed, and quietly sipped on their chai. After they were done and Meera had a little bit of strength in her, she turned around in her bench, to stare at the rain.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Meera asks, looking at the rain.
"Gorgeous" Prem replies, staring at Meera.
"I feel like dancing in it." states Meera.
"I feel like getting lost in them." Prem replies, still staring at Meera and her perfectly shaped face.
Meera, feeling something wrong with the whole conversation, looks at Prem to see him staring at her. Meera blushes and breaks down giggling and snaps her fingures infront of his face.
"Yoohoo!?" Meera replies
"Aisgiughinhi...huh?" Prem says, finally getting out of his dream mode.
"I was talking about the rain here!" Meera says, giggling.
"Ya whatever! Hey listen, we never introduced ourselves. I am Prem Juneja." Prem says, shaking Meera's hand.
"Meera Sharma." Meera replies, shaking Prem's hand.
"Nice to meet you Meera!" Prem compliments. Meera nods.
"You know, Prem and hey, be right back!"
Without saying anything else, Meera gets up from the bench and walks straight out in the rain and does a mini titantic, her hands flying open, and her face open to the drops of the rain. And this time, all those drops, touching her at the heart, not her body. Meera felt as if those drops were aimed right at her heart, and had a message hidden in them. Meera closed her eyes, to read the message, but only found one name and picture in her head. Prem! Suddenly, two hands slide down her arms, in the opposite directions, finally getting a strong grip of her hands. Strong hands. Shocked, Meera opens her eyes, to see Prem right behind her, doing his version of titanic. His chin up, feeling the rain. Meera smiled, and slowly, takes Prem's hands and moves them closer to her body. His hands slowly slid down her waist, and then made thier way to her stomatch, where they finally found a rest. Meera smiled, and so did Prem. Prem looked at Meera, and they both stared at each other. Both Prem and Meera swooned with the rain. Moving right and left, slowly, and feeling everything that touched them. Prem loosened his grip around Meera's stomatch giving her space to turn around and face him. Meera placed her head on Prem's chest, and could feel Prem's chin on her head and his hands around her back. Meera smiled and so did Prem. As they did, Meera and Prem found heaven right on earth...heaven in each other's arms.
Prem let go of Meera and swirled her around. He then went up on his knees and placed his hand out, which shocked Meera.
"Ms. Meera Sharma, would you like this poor thing to be beside you all your life?" Prem asks, in a loud voice, that ran shivers down Meera's spine but beautiful enough for her to give him a bear hug right there.
Meera smiles and slides her hand into his. "Yes, I do."
Prem smiles and quickly gets up from the road and breaks into a hug with Meera.
In conclusion, who says you need to know a person for a long time to know they are the one? Sometimes you have just gotta trust your inner instintcs.
