Ekta to learn the tricks from biggies

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Ekta Kapoor, who rules the small screen and is also a film producer , has decided to take the plunge and move to the next level in her career. According to sources close to Ekta, she soon plans to learn filmmaking from one of her favourite filmmakers before turning into a full-fledged director. The source said, Its a toss-up between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar. Both are Ektas favourite directors. While she loved Bhansalis Devdas and Saawariya, she shares a far more easygoing rapport with Karan. She is also an ardent fan of Karans films. The fact that Karans mother, Hiroo Johar is addicted to Ektas serials might finally tilt the scales in Karans favour. Ekta might finally decide to assist Karan whom she loves rather than Sanjay whom she respects.

Ekta also wants to do a course in filmmaking at Harvard before assisting a director in Bollywood .

So far, her only all-consuming passion and driving force as a professional has been to deliver episodes to channels on time. For Ekta, not delivering an episode or delivering a below-standard episode are situations akin to death. But now, she has seriously begun to see a life for herself beyond television. And yes ,filmmaking is an increasingly intriguing option for her, added the source.
