I was listening to this song on the train on the way home today, and really I had no real idea for it....I just felt like this whole situation of them being apart might go with this one...and lookie here! 😃 A one shot was born! A tiny little bit of it was inspired from twilight, wording wise.... 😉 I hope you guys all like it! 😃
Enjoy! 😃
Why should he have to go get her? Heer left the house; she could always come back.
YOU made her leave, the voice in his head shouted back at him. She won't come back until and unless you get her back.. Prem knew his conscience was right—but he didn't know what he should do. On one side was his mother, the woman who had made him what he was. The other however, was the one who taught him how to love, how to be more compassionate, how to live.
aap ki yaad aaye to dil kya kare
dil jo dil ko churaiye to dil kya kare
He wanted to disobey his mother; for once in his life. He knew deep down his decision was wrong. Kicking out his wife like that—no man who ever loved a woman would do such a thing. And that too a woman who he left his own family for, she deserved his support. Yet what he was doing was even worse than opposing her....still she made him mad for storming out without arguing—and just for being her. Although he knew that was another of the reasons why he loved her so much.
shikwa bhi aapse, shikayat bhi aapse
ghussa bhi aapse, mohabaat bhi aapse
aapke bin jeeya ab na jaaye to dil kya kare
She wouldn't ever look into those eyes again. The eyes that made her forget every single thought in her mind. The eyes that searched deep in her soul looking for a reflection of the love he had for her. The moment she had looked into those eyes for the first time in the dark, she dreaded that moment. She never knew that safety she had seen would turn out to be a lie.
aap ki yaad aaye to dil kya kare
dil jo dil ko churaiye to dil kya kare
With him everything seemed to be a lie now—ever since he had gone to Delhi; everything had changed. The Prem that came back wasn't HER Prem. This was someone inhibiting her Prem's body and mind.
She wanted to hate him, she really did. For all the pain he had caused her, all the pain that family had caused her and Meher. Harman for stranding Meher at the mandap, Maya for her cruel words, and Ma—ma for everything she had said. Heer couldn't bare to believe that because of Ma, her Prem—the one she thought was back had made her leave her own house.
shikwa bhi aapse, shikayat bhi aapse
ghussa bhi aapse, mohabaat bhi aapse
aapke bin jeeya ab na jaaye to dil kya kare
She knew deep down there was no way she could live without Prem. He was her oxygen, her reason for living. But when your own reason for living was killing you—he wasn't oxygen. He was a drug. A drug she had to cut out of her system.
aap ki yaad aaye to dil kya kare
dil jo dil ko churaiye to dil kya kare
Yet there was this part in her brain that refused to believe HER Prem was gone. He was somewhere in this new Prem. She just had to find him and bring him back to her, Heer thought as she walked towards the drapes to shut them. That was when she saw him, sitting in his car looking up right at the window.
aapne dilbar ke aapne mehboob ke
aankhon ne dekha aankhon mein doob ke
She moved away right away hiding behind the blind. Unaware of the pain she caused him by turning away from him.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
He was sure he saw her. He could still make out her faint outline from the drapes. His love for Heer overpowered his 'debt' for his mother. He wouldn't stay away from his wife. She was the reason God saved him in that blast. Her love and prayers for him brought him back.
aacha na aise mein tadpana
deewana main tera deewana
jaldi se bahon mein aajana
jaane jahan
He got out of his car and went up to their apartment. He wouldn't back away now. If he left—he'd never work up the courage to come back.
"Prem tum?" Nihaal rubbed his eyes as he opened the door.
"Heer kahan hain?" Prem asked, letting himself through the door.
Nihaal held him back. "Woh tumse milna nahi chathi."
Prem gave Nihaal a look that could freeze water. "Mujhe meri patni se milna hain,"
koi aashiq banaye to dil kya kare
dil jo dil ko churaiye to dil kya kare
She held onto the door with all her might. The confidence in his voice reminded her of the time he had saved her from Daljeet Chachi's cruel words and beatings. With those few words, he had proved his love for her without even meaning to.
aap ki yaad aaye to dil kya kare
dil jo dil ko churaiye to dil kya kare
Pounding sounded on the locked door and Heer couldn't stop her tears from coming as she held on for dear life. She didn't want to see him. She knew the minute he was in the same room as her—she would give up. She wouldn't be able to stay away. Her tears just wouldn't stop.
shikwa bhi aapse, shikayat bhi aapse
ghussa bhi aapse, mohabaat bhi aapse
aapke bin jeeya ab na jaaye to dil kya kare
Prem stopped pounding on her door and listened quietly as he could hear the soft whimpering on the other side. He placed both his hands on the door oblivious to the fact that Nihaal walked away letting them have their moment. "Heer,"
aap ki yaad aaye to dil kya kare
dil jo dil ko churaiye to dil kya kare
She melt herself crack. She couldn't stay away. She struggled to undo the lock and then slowly threw the door open, taking in his sight. His messed up hair, the sleeves of his kurta; one up one down, the way his eyes lit up seeing her. This was her Prem. She knew it. The power in his voice when he spoke to Nihaal and the way he persisted to see her.
"Heer," He took a step closer to her but Heer shook her head.
"Mujhe tumhari koi baat nahi suni," She turned around and crossed her arms.
Slowly she felt tingling on her arms and saw that he was wrapping his arms around her body. Silently just holding her, taking in her scent, the way she melted into him.
"Main koi safai nahin dunga," He whispered in her ears. "Mujhe pata hain ke main jo kiya hai woh mafi ke laiyek bhi nahin hain. Lekin Heer—main tumhare bina nahin reh sakhta."
That was all she needed to hear. She turned herself around and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him closer and letting the tears fall. Tears for him, tears for what he did to her, tears for the way he made her ache. Tears for the happiness that it was over for now, she knew misunderstandings would occur again, but this time she hoped he'd be there with her; every step of the way.
aap ki yaad aaye to dil kya kare
dil jo dil ko churaiye to dil kya kare
