Part 19

But she couldn't face him. She was scared to know his reaction. How was she going to comfort him?
She slowly walked towards Gayatri Maa's room. He hadn't said a word sense he heard the news. It was as if he had turned into a living zombie. He wasn't saying anything, he was feeling anything, and he wasn't responding to anything. But she knew that he was shattered.
After building up her courage and after hiding her pain, she went inside the room. The room was dark. It was difficult to see at first but after she closed the behind her and looked carefully, she spotted him near the window. As she slowly approached him, she saw him staring at a frame in his hands. When she was standing directly behind him, she could see Gayatri Maa's picture in the frame. She looked at his eyes from behind him but found no traces of tears.
He had to let his pain out. He can't just stay like this. Feeling the urge to share his pain, Heer placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Feeling her soft hand on his shoulder, he turned around and looked at her.
His heart clenched when he saw tears filling up her eyes. She looked at him as if telling him to share his pain with her. No words were coming to her. She didn't know what to say to him.
He couldn't see her like this.
"Leave me alone." He said as if telling her to stay away from him as much as possible.
Unwilling, he walked past her and left the room. Heer watched him leave. Maybe he just needed some time to himself to get out of the shock. But seeing her Prem in such a condition was breaking her heart.
She heard the doorbell. Without wasting a second, she ran to open the door. Upon opening the door, she found Arjun standing there. His head was lowered.
"What happened?" Heer asked impatiently. Seeing this lovely girl's hopeful face, Arjun didn't know how to put the facts out to her. Gayatri Maa was dead. That was the bitter truth.
Seeing his lowered eyes, she knew he didn't bring any hopeful news. Tears blurred her vision and she found fresh tears trailed down her soft, cold cheeks. Arjun saw her cry. He couldn't stop himself from wiping away the tears from her eyes. But when her tears didn't stop, he pulled her into a warm, brotherly hug; something she really needed at the moment. When she calmed down a little, he made her face him.
"Stop crying baby. You know you have to be Prem's support. Be strong. I know that you'll be successful in making Prem overcome this obstacle in life." Saying this, he gently kissed her forehead and then they both walked to Preet's room.
By now, Maya was successful in stopping Preet from crying. It was around 7:30 and Preet hadn't eaten anything. Maya decided to make something for dinner as no one had ate anything. Heer and Arjun stayed with Preet. When Maya came with a plate full of food, all three of them had to feed Preet as if they were feeding a two years old child. He would refuse to eat everything.
But Preet was quite devastated by the loss of his mom. His head was aching and so Heer went into the kitchen to get him a Tylenol. As she entered the kitchen, she opened the first cabinet over the kitchen counter and picked out a tablet of Tylenol. She filled up a glass of water and headed to go back to Preet's room. But when she turned to go, she saw Maya standing there with a plate that had roti and sabzi. Maya walked closer to her.
"You didn't eat dinner. Here eat it." Maya said holding up the plate. Heer was about to refuse but before she could say anything, Maya cut in.
"Don't you dare tell me that you're not hungry! If you don't eat, then how will you get the energy and the courage to handle Prem. He won't eat either." Maya said in a concern filled tone. Heer couldn't say anything to her. Maya ripped off a piece of roti, took some sabzi and fed it to Heer. She ate it. Maya was about to rip another piece but Heer stopped her.
"I ate for you sake. That's it." Heer told her sweetly. Tears were finding their way back into her eyes. Maya knew that there was no point in arguing. She took the glass of water from her hand and handed her the plate. She then took the Tylenol from her other hand.
"I'll give it to Preet. And don't worry; I'll also put him to sleep. Arjun and I will be with him the entire night. But you should be with Prem." Maya explained to Heer.
"Go to him Heer. Share his pain. I know that you're the only one who can do that. He will only share his pain with you Heer." Maya gently patted her cheek and left to go to Preet's room.
Heer was still debating over if she should go or not. She knew she had to. But she was scared. Then she looked at the plate in her hands. He hadn't eaten anything yet. After fighting with her inner self, she left the kitchen and went towards Prem's room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The door was a little open so she gently pushed it open. Like before, the room was quite dark. But a tiny lamp was giving light to the whole room. Her gaze searched for him. After much looking, she found him standing near the window. His back was faced to her so she couldn't see his face.
She quietly closed the door behind her. Holding onto the plate tightly, she walked closer to him. She set the plate on the side table of the bed and then slowly approached Prem.
When she was close enough, standing next to him, she could see him staring at the window. The view outside was amazing. The relaxing rain had started to pour after the storm passed by. They both stared at the droplets of water that were trickling down the glass in the window.
She couldn't take it anymore. Why was he not reacting to anything? As she looked at his straight face, she knew what she had to do.
"Tumhe pata hai, baarish kab hoti hai?" Seeing no reaction, she continued. "Who tab hoti hai jab kissi ka dard bhagwan ke dil ko chu jaye. Yeh barsaat hi unke aansoo hai. Jab who kud tumse tumhara dard batna chate hai, tab tum kyun nahi baate sakte."
By now, she was already in tears. She could see a twinkle in his eyes. He turned his gaze to her and looked at her with a distressing expression. Heer was satisfied to at least catch his attention. She got the plate of food from the side table and then came back into her same position in next to him.
She ripped off a piece, took some sabzi, and put her hand in front of his mouth. But he didn't move an inch. He just kept staring at her. He was too confused to even react.
"Eat just a little. Please Prem" The tears were still fresh in her eyes. But she got his answer when he looked away and turned is back to her.
She knew he wouldn't eat now. She watched him walk to a cabinet and take out a bottle of whiskey. Popping the lid open, he gulped down the bitter, strong fluid.
She had to stop him. He only drank when he was in utmost pain. She ran to him and tried to stop him but each time, he would push her hand away or even push her away. She tried one last time to stop him. But this time he pushed her so hard that she feel onto the ground and her head hit the hard bed frame.
A sharp pain stroked the top right side on her forehead. The pain brought tears into her eyes and she held her head in her hands as it was paining terribly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hearing her softly shriek in pain, he turned around to look at her. Placing the bottle of the table he ran to her. He sat down next to her and held her face. Seeing a thin strip of blood ooze out of her soft skin, his heart exploded. He did this to her. She was here to share his pain and this is what he gave her. He was always giving her so much pain.
His eyes instantly teared up and felt like killing himself for causing her pain.
Heer saw the concern and the caring tears in his eyes. She was happy to see him loosen up. Prem gently got her up and made her sit on the bed. By just looking at his eyes, she as able to judge that he was drunk. She watched him pull out a first aid box from the cupboard and walk back towards her. He kneeled down on the floor in front of her and took out a soft cloth to wipe her wound. As he wiped it, his full concentration was on the wound. But she couldn't stop herself from admiring his cute act. She finally admitted to herself that yes, she loved him. More then anything else in the world, she loved him, she adored him.
And while she saw the tears pour out his eyes, she found her fingers wiping them away. He looked at her for a second and then went back to dressing her wound. After placing a tiny bandage over the bleeding area on her temple, he got up to put the first aid box away.
He was about to go to the cupboard when he felt her slender fingers holding on to his wrist with a strong grip. Prem turned around and looked at her. Heer took the first aid box and placed it aside on the side table.
Prem felt his emotions burst and he pulled the girl into his arms. Hugging her tightly, as if begging for forgiveness.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't want to hurt you. I-" He was about to continue when he felt her pull out and face him.
She held his face in her hands and looked into his tear filled eyes.
"Why did he take her away? Can't he see me happy for some time? He is always taking away someone from me. First my dad, then he made me almost lose Preet, and now…" He whispered gently. Then he lowered his eyes and he didn't know how to show her his tears. Heer pulled his face closer to her face and gently wiped his tears away. She didn't know how to console him with words. She only found one thing that might ease his pain.
She held onto his face and gently placed a soft kiss on his forehead. Feeling her warm lips on his skin, he felt his pain being drained out. As she faced him once again, he watched her carefully. She was one person he would never want to lose, not even for a friction on a second. But she wasn't his and this fact was scaring him.
He knew he was drunk. But he couldn't stop himself. He pulled her up closer to himself and looked at her flawless face. She was beautiful. But she was still sad. Her eyes were telling him that.
Without thinking twice, he lightly kissed her lotus shaped eyes. Her skin was so addicting that he didn't want to let go of her.
His touch was so passionate. His firm grip around her delicate waist was making her lose her senses. When she felt his lips on her eyes, she instantly melted like chocolate. Her hands were still on his cheeks. And before she could register what was happening, she felt another kiss on her right cheek. Her eyes were closed and by now, she was totally surrendering to him.
She felt him get closer and closer to her. The only thing she could do was move back. She did just that until she felt the smooth wall hit her back. She stayed still and dared not open her eyes. But after much debating with herself, she opened them and found two caramel colored eyes staring at her. He was so close to her that she could hear his heart beating rapidly. And she was dead sure that he was able to hear her racing heart go 100,000 mph. But this closeness was so comforting, so peaceful and so pure.
Prem felt his heart tingle when he saw her attractive eyes. Heer looked at him with the same passion. She gently lowered his head with her hands and left a tender kiss on his cheek. He responded to her kiss by leaving another kiss on her nose and then her left cheek.
But it was as if Prem couldn't resist anymore. He wanted to taste her soft lips. They were attracting his attention so much that he just had to feel them. As he closed in on her, she knew that this moment was going to be one the she would never forget and would never ever want to forget.
They both closed their eyes, deep in love, and kissed. It started from a smooth gentle kiss. But as the kiss deepened, they lost all their control and it turned into a hungry and passionate kiss. They both pulled out when they needed to breathe; a strong passion had ignited into them both. It was quite visible when they looked into each other's eyes.
He knew he had lost it. But he couldn't have enough of her. Picking her up in his well-built arms, he headed towards his bed. As he carried her, he could feel her cold fingers around her neck and her head was hidden in his chest. He gently placed her delicate figure on to the warm bed and towered himself on to her. He made sure that he wasn't placing any of his weight on top of her. With each hand next to her shoulder on the bed, he looked at her blushed face. Her eyes were closed and the slight smile on her lips was inviting him in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He placed his first kiss on her maang. Tears escaped her eyes as she felt his lips. He then placed a kiss on her forehead. He placed a kiss on both of her eyes. Seeing the escaped tears, he couldn't resist himself from kissing them away. He then left a couple of kisses on her chubby cheeks. He left a tiny kiss on her chin. Seeing her delicate neck, he removed the dupatta that she was covered with. Her body shivered as if it was exposed to cold air. His warm fingers traced down her neck and he watched her shake. His hunger for her increased as he saw her and he was forced to leave tender kisses as his face trailed down her throat and neck.
The whole time, her hands had been gritting onto the bed sheet tightly. But his touch was making her go wild in pleasure. Her hands found their way to his face and she caressed his cheek as he left kisses on her shoulder.
They both surrendered to each other not knowing what had been going on. The night passed by and the loved between them deepened its shade. They become one. They shared each other's pain. They loved each other. And that was the bottom of the truth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He woke up late the next morning. As he sat up in his bed, a sharp pain was hurting his head. He looked as adorable as ever and his heart seemed to be content. But as he sat there in the bed, everything from last night flashed back into his head. The kisses, the love bites, the way her skin felt, her sweet smell on jasmine, her silky hair, her tears, her bruise, and his love. And all of a sudden, he felt ashamed of himself. He didn't control himself last night. He hurt her again. He looked around the room to find her but she was no where in sight. He got up as he attempted to find her but something caught his eye. He found a blue piece of paper folded in half, resting on the side table.
He picked it up instantly and unfolded it to read it.
Prem,
I know what you're thinking right now. But don't you dare feel guilty for doing anything. It was just a weak moment. We both were sad and then it just happened. I know you're really sorry. But please don't be. Whatever happened, it happened because we both lost control.
But now I think it's about time. I have to leave now. Our three months of contract will almost be over in a week or two. I had to leave one day or another. Don't think I left because of you. That's not the truth. I left because I didn't want to hurt you or Preet by just walking out. Trust me; you will always be a good friend of mine. And there is one thing that you HAVE to promise me. You will never tell anyone about the kidnapping. If anyone asks you why we were married, just tell them that you were helping me in escaping from my step-father. Tell them that I left because our contract was over and that I was tired of living with you. That's all. Don't say anything else.
I'm really sorry for leaving you in this state. But I had no other option. I didn't want you to overcome this pain and then be questioned by Preet again and again. Please don't find yourself guilty for anything. You're a great guy Prem and I am happy to have a friend like you. But now I have to leave. Please move on in your life. Don't come looking for me, please I request. And take good care of Preet. He needs you. And I know you need him. Sorry for not meeting you. But I couldn't see you sad and I had to leave. Sorry Prem for everything and take care. Wish you all the joys in life.
Heer
His heart practically broke in half. She left him too. He took her away from him. He loved her so much and now she left him. The day he dreaded the most was now in front of his eyes. But he was going to listen to her. He would do everything she told him to do. Now he was living a life for her. He loved her and he would always love her. But deep down, he knew that she was hiding something. Last night, he felt her love for him. Was that something he imagined or was that the truth? He didn't know what to believe. His mind told him that yes; it was just a weak moment. But his heart, it couldn't over come the fact that it was a beautiful union of two souls who became one. It was the lover's night and whatever happened between them was just pure old love that they poured out. At least that's what it was from his side.
