"This better not be a joke" I thought. But then who the hell would come to meet him? It has to be her. She told me she came to meet him. And why is this jerk grinning at me as if he has made up some type of plan.
"PB'.she was amazing. If you looked at her, then you would not spot staring. And the best thing is that she is exactly like you. Even though she was a stranger, she treated me so sweetly that I just couldn't stop myself from telling you about her." Preet said. The excitement and the love he had for her clearly being shown.
"But why do you want to tell me about her'?" I asked him as if I didn't know the answer. But I knew it very well. He flashed me his grin. Coming a little closer to me, he slowly whispered.
"I really like her. Can you please do me the biggest favor ever by making her my bhabhi?" He whispered smirking at me.
I looked up straight into his eyes and flashed him my million dollar smile. Wasn't he in for a treat now?
I looked away casually glancing at my watch. I got up slowly and saw his face fall as his question wasn't answered.
"Preet, who mujhe discharge papers sign karne hai. Mai abhi atta hu." I told his and turned to leave. But then I stopped and looked back at him. He had an angry look on his chubby, little face and I just smiled. As I went back towards him, he looked away and stared outside the window of the hospital room. Seeing his angry at me, I went closer to his ear and whispered.

Preet threw the pillow at Prem as he still a little angry. But then it finally hit him. His brother's words lingered into his mind and he looked at Prem with shock.
"Did you just say that she is my'" Preet was really eager to know. Prem saw the happiness on his face and smiled back at him.
"Yeah'we already got married a month ago." Prem answered. Without a second, Preet pulled his brother into the tightest hug ever. Preet was beyond happy. He had always wanted his bhabhi to be exactly like the girl. As they broke apart, Preet bombarded Prem with questions.
"How? I mean who is she? How do you know her? And why didn't she tell me when she came to meet me? PB TELL ME EVERYTHING?" Preet yelled. He wanted to know everything.
"Relax, relax." Prem told his brother. Prem straightened up as he had to sign the papers. It was already 5:30 pm and they would leave to go home by 7:00.
"Right now I have to go. But when we get home, all your questions will get answered. I promise." Prem patted his cheek after seeing his sad face.
"You better!" he yelled before Prem closed the door to his room.
After signed the papers and did all the formalities, he decided to go and get something to eat. As he was about to go to his car, his phone rang. He saw Arjun's name flashing. He smiled and pressed talk.
"Hey."
"Listen to me and don't argue. We will bring dinner at your house tonight. Our treat to Preet will be his favorite Chinese food. I was hard to make Heer understand so you better not start." Arjun ordered me.
"Iski kya'?" Prem asked him. Prem never liked troubling his friends for such little things.
"Dekh, woh mera bhi bhai hai. Itna toh hak hai na." Arjun said sweetly.
"Hai. But still-" Prem tried to argue but Arjun didn't listen to anything.
"Okay the, tonight at 8 sharp. See you then. Oh and one more thing, Ms.Maya over her is eating my head off asking me over and over again. She wants to know if you told Preet about Heer. She won't talk to you either. And to update you on how she is reacting: she seems really really angry because you didn't call back to tell her how Preet reacted. Ouch'" Arjun said.
"Now she is down to having a pillow fight with me" Arjun said laughing. Prem couldn't stop from laughing out load. These two would always be able to bring a smile onto his face.
"Tell her that I told him everything." Not everything- Prem mentally corrected himself.
"He's really happy to know about Heer." Prem added. But in his mind, he knew that this happiness wouldn't be there permanently.
"Hey that's great. That means double celebration tonight. What the'." Arjun's voice got cut off as someone else took the phone.
"Did you seriously convince him? I knew you would. Preet always listens to you." Maya said. I knew she was smiling from hearing her voice.
"But Mr. Juneja, don't you think that MRS. Prem Juneja deserves a little something from you?" Maya asked Prem.
A sudden happiness filled his heart when Maya referred to Heer as Mrs. Prem Juneja.
"Since the day she came into you life, I have never seen you sad and depressed about anything, not even Preet. It all because of her and I want you to tell her how much she means to you. Knowing you, I bet you didn't even tell her once how much you love her but it's about time." Maya explained to me. Prem listened carefully while the phone got switched to someone else.
"Tell her how much you care. Tell her how much you love her. Then see the smile on her face. That smile will tempt you to keep on giving her happiness and never let the smile fade. I know this from personal experience" Arjun added as he slightly smiled.
As Prem thought about everything they said he knew that he had to thank her for everything she has done for him. He just HAD to. But what was he going to give her?
"Arjun, I don't know what to give her." Prem asked innocently. "I mean she's so delicate and simple, I don't know what she likes and what she doesn't."
"Well, we will try finding out today night. Then you can gift it to her later." He said.
"Okay fine'hey I have to go. Preet must be waiting. See you guys later."
After he hung up the phone, he went to Preet's room to finishing up the packing. After getting everything done at the hospital, Prem and Preet drove off for home. The whole car ride, Prem was happy to hear about how wonderful his wife was by Preet. He couldn't stop praising her even for a second.
Prem slowly stopped the car in front of his house. Preet looked at his house which he had missed so much. Prem quickly got out of the car and ran to Preet's door. Preet's leg wasn't fully recovered and he needed some support to walk. Prem pulled his brother up and with the support of his PB, they both headed towards the entrance. Prem rang the bell and then looked at Preet. They both were eager to meet Heer.
They both heard someone trying to open the door and their eyes were glued to the person who opened it. Preet, on one hand, was blown away by how cute his bhabhi looked. Prem, on the other hand, couldn't believe how day by day she looked more and more beautiful. Heer was dressed in a simple magenta, full sleeve churidar. The material on her sleeve was see-through and thin. The neck border was adorned with tiny blue beads that matched the blue flower print in the magenta background. Her hair was tied into a loose ponytail with some strands already out. There was a tiny pinch of sindoor on her forehead and a tiny, round bindi on her forehead. She had simple blue studs on and she had her mangalsutra on. Even with minimal jewelry and no make-up, she took his breath away. She didn't need any make-up anyway. She was just too beautiful.
She must have been busy doing something and she might not be expecting us right now. Her gaze moved from me to Preet and she gave him the cutest smile I have ever seen.
"Hi Heer bhabhi." Preet said extending his right hand. His left hand was on my shoulder for support.
Heer shuck hands with him.
"Hi. Are you okay now?" she asked softly.
"I'm perfect. And by the way, you're pretty good at acting." He said. Heer looked at me and then lowered her eyes.
"Oh wait. Bhabhi can you tell me about your love story? I am so dying to know and PB is too shy so he will never tell me anything." Preet whined.
Heer looked at Prem for answered and Prem made a puppy-dog face. Heer smiled at him and then took Preet's hand to give him support.
"At least come inside." She said as she took Preet towards the sofa to sit. They both sat down.
"Phela aaram karo, phir bataungi'." She whispered to him. Prem slowly came inside and went into the kitchen. He was really thirsty and felt really dehydrated.
As he turned to walk out of the kitchen, he saw Heer standing right in front of him. Her eyes told him that she wanted an answer to something.
"Usse kaise bataya?" Heer asked him silently. Prem gave her a slight smirk.
"I didn't have to say much. He had already chosen I didn't have to say much. He had already chosen you as his bhabhi. What was I supposed to say?" Prem told her.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked as she had no clue on what he was saying.
"I'll tell you later. " Prem was about to leave but he had to stop to tell her.
"Um'.Heer." He said. She instantly turned around.
"Huh?" She answered.
"You look really nice today." Prem saw her blush and a smile crept up on his face. He left the kitchen and went to his room to freshen up.
After taking a warm shower, he dressed himself into fresh blue jeans and a striped black and white shirt. After coming out of the bathroom, he put on some perfume and dried his wet hair with a towel. Feeling fresh and lively, he went to check up on his brother and his beautiful''wife.
When Prem came out, he saw that Maya and Arjun had already arrived and they were plain a game of taj. Maya and Arjun vs. Heer and Preet. He smiled at his happy little family and joined them. Playing cards always bored him so he just watched them play and enjoy. Or maybe he just watched her and her smile.
Arjun had gotten the dinner from Preet's favorite Chinese restaurant. From the conversations, he found out that it was also Heer's favorite restaurant. They all enjoyed the delicious dinner and chatted about almost anything and everything. They didn't even know when time flew by and it was already 12:00. Arjun and Maya headed to go home after having a wonderful time with Preet.
Prem and Heer decided to get Preet to sleep as the doctors have told him to take a lot of rest. With Prem's support, Preet was shifted to his room. Heer gave him the pain killer and the minute she turned out the lights, she knew that he was asleep. Today must have been a long day for him, she thought.
Heer decided to clean up the dishes in the kitchen before the hit the bed herself. She wasn't tired or sleepy, but what was she going to do at 12:15 at night. Prem had to look for a file in his study room so if was busy there.
Heer entered the kitchen and seeing only a few dishes left, she decided to finish her incomplete task. As she was scrubbing the dishes, a tap on her shoulder alarmed her and she instantly turned around. Her hair softly caressing his face; Prem's face that it.
"Sorry." He said grinning at her shocked look. "I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay." Heer assured him with a smile. "Actually I thought you were asleep. Did you find you file?"
"Yeah'I found it." Prem said as he leaned his back against the counter and watched her scrub the dishes. "Need any help?"
"No, I'm almost done. You can go to sleep." She told him.
"No, I'll wait."
After she finished the dishes, she once again told him to sleep. But all he did was grab her hand gently and pulled her a little closer. He knew that he was scaring her but he had to know this. He looked into her confused eyes. She had a slight frown on her face and still looked cute.
"If I ask you something, tell me the truth." He paused and saw her nod.
"Do you trust me?" He whispered softly. Her eyes narrowed and she then after thinking a little, she smiled. As she always did, she went with what her heart told her to do. And that was, to trust him.
"Yes." She whispered back and slightly smiled. Prem smiled back. Prem held out his hand to her.
"Then come with me'" Heer looked at his hand and then at him. Without thinking, she put her hand in his. Prem took her out of the house and into his car. Before Heer knew it, he driving to some place that she didn't know. After a while, the car stopped in front of a small pastry shop. He saw her look outside and then look at him with a confused expression. Prem smirked back at her.
"Yeh'.pastry shop? Hum yaha kyu aaye hai?" Heer asked Prem innocently.
"Abhi batata hu'" He said and got out of the car, heading inside the shop. A confused Heer just watched him go.
"Why did he bring me here?" Heer thought to herself. After a few minutes, she saw him coming back with a small square box. He settled himself back into the car and then looked at her.
"My treat, to you'" He smiled and handed the pastry box to her. Heer realized why he brought her here. He wanted to celebrate his happiness with her. She gave him a genuine smile back and took the box.
"I want to show you a place. If you want to see it?" Prem asked her sweetly.
She smiled back at him and he got his answer. He drove for about 10-15 minutes. He took the last turn into a really dark road where everything was pitch dark. Heer was really scared of the dark and she had no idea for where he was taking her. But for one thing she was sure, she was safe with him. No matter what, she knew that he would always protect her. Prem finally stopped his car and looked at her. He knew that she didn't like this place, or a least right now she didn't.
