'kay, enough of the dukhi-dukhi baat. i think the time has come to stake some claims..

once upon a time,
there was a principles war.
at center stage was one young man
part of an enigmatic pair.
a pair called prem-and-heer
who together one were declared.
then one day, this silly young man
said alvida and left
he'd return the next day he said
and took nearly a year instead! 😆

and when he did return,
it was not in a simple path or way,
major twists and turns were dealt
when prem came back from death.
in fact, so weird was his reentry
it appeared quite difficult to tell
whether it was prem or not actually,
or an imposter as we all felt.
and yet by the look in his eye
making pheyeooh all the way
and by the touch of his hand,
making a phhandoooh! we'd say
it looked more and more like it was prem
the prem-heer-are-one guy, the very same.
but now it was difficult to figure out
if he knew his heer from before or not.

and so the war was staged on this very last doubt
is prem pretending he has forgot?
or really, does his memory
prem have not?

on these lines the battle was drawn,
for a long time the two sides fought.
heated became the discussions
as a resolution the sides sought
starting from way back in december
confusions and feelings ran high,
up and down through jan, feb, i remember
we all fought with giggle and sigh.

the two teams were never steady,
defection seemed the order of the day 😆
if one day with confusion prem was fraught,
the other day he was most certainly not!

till one dark evening in at the end of march,
we all waited with bated breath.
watching his heer as she trick and tease,
and finally prem his truth finally said.
haan heer, mein tumhara prem hi hoon.
remembering everything from the time of the blast.
and finally, not a moment too soon.
for the fml side, victory came at last!

although this victory does not bring
any joyous, raucous thrill.
they say prem has a hole in his heart.
we're gonna have to w&w still....
whether prem-heer-are-one will hold.
whether heer will now smile.
whether prem will be true and stay.
and forever keep heer's tears at bay.

whichever whatever way this swings.
i feel though like i'd like to stand up and sing
c'mon guys let's party and dance.
'cause which ever way, we're quite the bestest of fans!
