The court started filing with the spectators after the lunch break. MNSTR made way slowly, almost lazily. Lallu gang almost charged inside the courtroom. "Let the case begun!" He commanded looking really comic with half trouser leg on his right leg and full trouser on his left.
Triv winced. "Wrong English." She muttered.
MNSR slid her very amused glances. "Trivy and her grammar." Sid muttered, rolling her eyes.
"Don't forget her spellings too," Raksha quipped.
Triv folded her arms and pouted slightly. "Let's get on with it," She muttered.
The reporter strode inside the court with her camera man, saw Lallu grinning at her and the camera hopefully. She suddenly found the ceiling of the court very interesting. "Keep looking up, I think that old man is going to try and ambush us," She whispered to the cameraman. She quickly took her place and looked about for Prem and - his hand.
"Concentrate," The cameraman whispered.
"Easy for you to say, you loved the menu full of eggs in that canteen. I don't like eggs but I had to eat it for Pr- I mean for hunger."
The cameraman snorted. The reporter scowled at him and then prayed for someone to hit Lallu on the head because he was waving at her right now with his hanky and making Harman and Meher wave at her too. Harman looked blank as usual. Meher seemed to be a little embarrassed. "Woohoo!!!!" Lallu cried now standing on the chair and waving madly.
"The mirror broke!" Ash wailed just as Judge Zainab entered the court and took her seat.
"Did it now?" Judge Zainab asked, one of her eyebrow winging up.
Ash nodded pitifully. "I want a mirror! How will I" ' horrified gasp ' "live without my mirror?!" The girl looked most hysterical.
Judge Zainab was in a fix, she wanted to the court case to start ASAP but it cannot if that girl kept wailing time and again during the proceedings.
She studied the girl and decided to help her in her own way. "We have a HUGE mirror in our court building," She told Ash with a smile.
Ash stopped getting hysterical and concentrated on Judge Zainab. "Where?" She looked as if Christmas had come early for her.
"Umm..it's complicated. This place has many corridors and stuff," Judge Zainab told her with a frown.
Ash's lips trembled.
"But, I will try to be clear about the directions. Ok?" The Judge said hastily, fearing a flood in the court.
Ash nodded looking happy again.
"Well-" Judge Zainab began. "- listen carefully because I won't be repeating this." She said strictly. "You leave this room then take a right."
Ash nodded again.
"Then you walk for sometime and turn to left where there is a '" She hesitated. "-a thing. You go around the thing." She moved her hand in a round vague way. Then you turn to the north. There is another thing and besides it another big thing but ignore that thing, it's useless. "
Ash nodded her face twisted in deep concentration.
"Move away from the useless thing and turn south. Now you have to walk in baby steps and you will find 3 more things in between, tap each one once and then skip 5 times to the 4th thing in that corridor. Now run like a horse for 2 minutes. There is the last thing over there. Go around it 5 times and move west. There is a door. Open it and there is the HUGE mirror there. Did you get it?" Judge Zainab asked Ash.
Ash looked like she would cry but she nodded, her need for a mirror greater than logic. She waved towards Preet muttering the directions to herself and left the court.
Judge Zainab glanced at the crowd and smiled. Each and every face had the same bewildered expression on their face.
"Your honor?" The reported called.
"Yes?"
"What-is a thing?"
Judge Zainab's eyes twinkled with mirth. "The thing-" She paused dramatically. "-is nothing." She confessed with a grin. "Don't worry, we will find her easily when the case is over."
The crowd laughed.
Judge Zainab motioned to the announcer and he shouted on top of his voice for the case to commence. Everyone winced.
"Well, the Juneja's have made their case. Now it's the MNSTR's turn."
