the cross-connection phone call. the first meeting of prem-heer eyes and hands - cast in blue light and winds! oh my! then, rasta-roko. and of course, prem's first confession of "love, love, love, love crazy love"(***) to heer, holding her hand so tight that she can't move away. in brilliant, big-screen glorious technicolour. *sigh!!!* seriously, guys, it makes a huge difference.
well as an extreme you tubeer or using anything and everything online, let me tell u, there are times when i have seen the premeer scenes on TV to take in their effect but the small laptop screen and headphones makes it a personal connection as well 😉
what was worthy of wtf-ing is that the story told was prem's story, in prem's voice. both raksha and hope (hope08) pm-ed me 'bout this too. i asked my pal and she said that every other show done this week didn't seem to have this format. so *+ has done this specially - balaji can't have done this 'cause they have no staff? makes me think that hc's still on balaji's payroll. that hc's still investing in this show. that hc's gonna be back in the show -- no matter that his name is not in the list of credits at the end.
well since his name was never in the list of cast i guess that point becomes useless....but the voice over indicated that harshad is part of star...now since BT is part of the strike does that mean they had no hand in the telecast....but i am trying to be hopeful that people will take the right message from this
i remember thinking that hc was out of the prem character once - during a flashback (post-prem's-apparent-death) with kuldi's husband - 'cause his voice was so... unprem! u said that earlier as well and i still think that prem has a funny side as well, very initially in kis desh, and u must have missed this, it was probably the 12th march episode or closer to that, prem was shown having fun with preet and harman at home and i still liked him in that....
as i listened to hc's voice, it was sooo obvious that he's in love with the prem character. seriously. hc loves prem as much as we do. someone who is treating prem "as just another character to play" couldn't have delivered those lines with so much obvious love. seriously. 😍
did u read his interview from 'showtime' posted on the forum, he said, ' i would rather play prem on tv than any other character, so he misses prem as much as we do, means he must also be working to bring it back, another good thing
6. other than the blooming "alvida" word *😡 prem!* i thought the ending was quite intriguing -- they stopped it exactly at the point of the blast?? i guess that was logical - from prem's pov. but it was intriguing 'cause they could've put that insanely idiotic list of orders prem gave while being slowly progressing to krispy-preme. * yeah, like in the doughnuts🤣* they could've ended with prem saying that he wanted things for his family and that he hoped they would live happily ever after. but they didn't. *sigh* maybe i'm thinking too much. maybe it was just that way 'cause they ran out of time? huh!
hmmm, didnt think abt that? i was sad that he said alvida again but when i saw it the thing i took away from it was that he didnt say that he had died....dur chala gaya....does not indicate death....just means he is not around.......maybe i am being stupidly hopeful but i thought that was a good thing :)
so. if this strike thingie is not resolved by the end of this week either, does that mean that we'll have a "new" 3-hour episode of the show next week also??? will they do it from heer's pov this time? hmmm...!
i hope they solve this strike thing, dont know the details but i am sure people must be losing a lot of money by not working... and i dont mean the production houses but the people who get paid every day and who neeed that to support their families.....
** -- missed seeing on tv. i started watching the show after prem's superb showdown with gayatri-mom when dirtchachi accused her of not loving prem 'cause he was her stepson. wasnt prems voice a little weak in that emotional scene, if u mean his confrontation with gaya3....it was splendidly written but i thought prems lost it a couple of times, maybe thats what u meant by paragraph delivery

* a deep sigh* 😍wasnt this an amazing scene...Was it the first time Heer actually smiled in the show?? the scene was simple but beautifully done except for the inbetween-shots of scarry Dheer...The song, the white-white combination😍these two have wonderful eye-chemistry ...I was expecting soo much after this scene but they had to bring in the stoopid veera...

that's what i first thought -- but i do wonder. it was just soooo thoughtful, the way this was done, i can't imagine zero input from their creative team. or ... *new thought* did hc put in a lot of hard work even in interpretation? would he have been given that kind of creative freedom?? hmmmm! i want to know!!

since this was the first scene that made me sat up and notice prem and the show, i guess i didn't think so. i thought the scene was repetitive. but i thought hc and his voice totally rocked it. i loved it when his voice cracked into a squeak. i loved it when he grabbed her from her kneeling position almost violently. i loved that last part when he turns away and covers his face with his hands. and his voice when he says - desperately, brokenly - "who am i to you? i am your son. you are my mother. i am your son." that voice delivery was brilliant.

so i'm not sure whether i am remembering it perfectly. maybe my memory's just glossing over the "weak parts". but i remember that the scene made me stop surfing. 😊 and it made .. um .. the tv switch on to that channel the next day. and the day after that. and ... well, you know the end of this story. 😆

glad to have u back estee after an uneventful week, hope the next one is better....entertainment wise at least

my pals back at home say that the strike is still on? so am not sure what we're gonna get. and i have a really tough test (and another relatively okay one) the coming week. so i'm probably just gonna see you at the next wtf? have fun till then though. and tc. 😊

It was a very interestingly put together episode. With interesting I mean lot of thought has gone through in terms of the scenes and script. I think star and BT did this in collaboration - star's part being going ahead with BT's plan of using HC's voice to narrate the story. No other maha episode had any lead (living or dead) narrate the story. This is what I never understood about this show. The amount of time and effort that these people are putting in to convince the audience that Prem is dead. Why? Why?

is what i thought too -- only this show got special treatment in how the 3-hours was put together. my tv-show-industry watching pals in india point out that what's even more interesting is that everyone's buzzing 'bout how *+ and balaji telefilms are not supposed to be working wellwith each other. and yet, this - a bt show - is the only one with special treatment.. why, one wonders?

as to your last set of why?s - well, 'cause prem's not dead. all of this is just something out of his imagination while waiting to be roasted alive? 😆

The highlights for me were many:

The first thing that stood out was HC's voice and wonderfull narration. Hearing his voice made me realise how badly I miss him in the show. Like I always said I hope HC gets good projects in future and goes a long way. He has it in him.

yup. i hope (more, i think) that is something that everyone's already seeing. he's rather srk-ish, no? eager to be in. eager to learn. charismatic. diplomatic. smart. very smart. seriously hope that this has started him on a track of lots of work in life.

The question is why is BT and Star using HC? If you want people to move on with the story wouldn't you try to make people forget the character rather than rubbing it in and making the audience miserable by playing with their emotions? That's a very cheap tactic and will backfire very soon.

😆 'cause he is very good? 'cause we - the fans - um... like him? 😆 i've always thought that hc is not going from the show. 'cause hc has always been really careful 'bout saying "prem" when he talked 'bout leaving?

With regards HC's name not being on the end credits I think it was because he was chosen way after the show started. The names that come when the show starts are the only ones that are updated regularly - how do i know this - just check Vikas' name. It was Vikas Goopta before now its spelled as Vikash Goopta. I think the end credits will change only when they repackage the show.

and the reason that i don't think that's true is because at the start of the show they had 3 directors. after mr. bhinder died, they have kept his name on but there are 4 names now. i wonder if ratpals' name is on that list now...?

The things that stood out for me the most was how much the words Dil, Vaada, Kasam and Pyaar was used in the entire narration. Don't know if it was unintentional but almost all of Prem's narration had something referring to the above.

um... what do you think it means?

Prem never mentions anything about Nihaal, Kuldi, Kiran - why? Apart from the first time he mentioned Harman he never ever mentions him again. Shouldn't he have atleast mentioned Harman and Meher's engagement (it happened in front of him).

well, he does mention his father, mother, too. even dirtchachi gets a mention? i just think that the rest of 'em didn't do anything seriously material in the story of prem-heer-are-one. which (after his own introduction) is the biggest thing he focuses on, no? so, i didn't think much of it.

The most important thing that Prem said was about RR. He says at the function "I met the man who would wreak havoc in my life". As far as I remember RR hardly did anything that totally wrecked Prem's life.

well, i can think of another - he overhears ratpal making plans to "destroy" old mr. juneja's business when he goes to him for an interview! i thought that was the first big havoc-causing effect of ratpal in prem's life -- which he shockingly forgets when ratpal makes a re-entry as vitchface veera's lover!! or prem has always kept that in the back of his mind and his entire absence just now is a big well-thought out plan on his part to bait, trap and destroy ratpal forever!!!!

*i love thinking such schemes where the good guys are also super smart guys - who are always making super smart plans to destroy the bad guys. and here i am always wrong. sob!*

Though I loved rewatching the entire Prem on his knees proposing to Heer thing but why did he have to mention that his mother promised him to get married in 7 days. Nothign came out of it, right?

😍 oh, that i'm super sure they did just 'cause it was sooooo beautifully done. that came out of it - wasn't nothing, no? i can remember the sheer grace of prem doing that kneeling act forever. just like i can remember the way prem went to heer and "took her hand" at the businessman-of-the-year award function forever..... 😍 *sigh. someone slap me. i'll need to get ready for school soon....*

They could have reworded it better. Also why did they show the entire "aaj mein Prem Juneja" thing? Esp when he is not there to be with Heer throught her life (as he says "saat janmo tak tumarah saat doonga")?

Also interesting was how Prem hardly mentions Daljeet and they completely failed to show the scenes were she was thrown out of the house. If you notice only couple of people are mentioned in Prem's entire narration - Heer (but ofcourse), his mom, his dad and Rano/Meher.

he does mention dirtchachi! when he talks of her getting him hitched to ash. and later when her plans unravel.

The scenes did show Prem's obession and Prem-Heer"s love but it didn't show the Prem-Heer are one thing. I think they could have shown some scenes esp the one after veera's sucide attempt.

*frown* i think they did that at the prem-ash wedding breakup. after that, it was just ... the truth! and the truth don't need no stinkin' repetion! 😆

Like you said the end was intriguing bcoz he stops at the blast but technically he didn't die in it. He escaped but "died" trying to save a lad from fire. Also like you mentioned he should have said in the narration that his family would move with their life without him and that Heer would be happy. Why didn't he do that? Intriguing indeed! You know even the 3 hr episode of the show didn't have good TRPs (though Bidaai and Raja Ki .. had better TRPs for their 3-hr sp) bcoz nobody wants to see the old episodes knowing where it is going to lead.

*sigh* i will never understand why those two shows ever get better trps - those characters are sooo spineless and dull. particularly the women - seriously! *barf!*

I read somewhere that Ekta is reviewing all the scripts of her show bcoz of the strike. I really hope that she decides to rework and get HC back. Also rumour has it that Kayamath and kasturi are also going to be axed soon. This leaves her with only two shows on Star. She better do something fast before the axe falls on Kis Desh Mein too. Like you waiting and watching. Hope we'll get to see the new episodes next week (24 onwards) and this strike doesn't go on like the writers' guild thing in US. and as always, i hope "she decides to rework and get prem back". 'cause i think hc never left, or can leave this show... 😆 yeah, i hope the story gets a chance to move forward too -- i do want to know how this prem-heer-are-one wins - again!! 😍😆 and i think that has more chance than me on the forum this week. i have the dreaded prof's exam on thursday! argh!!!

(as you reminded me..) although, we did have those fantastic engagement episode(s) after that.... (until both vitchface and ratpal intervened - again! 😡)
