I think im taking the statement 'fashionably late' a bit too seriously.

I'm actually at my grand moms place, so getting time of is kinds erratic.

Do here's the next updt. It didn't turn out as great as I thought itwould but anyways..

Chapter 24

It was 2 am in the morning and heer was growing more frustrated by the minute. It was common for prem to return late fro work given his workaholic nature, but would it kill to inform??

Preet and meher too didn't pry seeing heer gearing up o throw fire balls at the first person in sight. Saying a silent prayer for prem, preet descended to his room hoping his brother would live to tell the tale.

" jeez!! She's already wife-ing around", thought preet who was down for a late night snack and saw the light still on in heer's room and a driveway short of one car.

" agar log phone uthana nahin chahte toh log phone rakhte kyun hai???", heer grumbled. Deciding that some milk and cookies were the best solution to all crises' she went down to get some after trying prem's phone for the umpteenth time.

She was on the verge of loosing it. It was past two in the morning and there was still no sight or sign of prem. There was no way she was gonna get some sleep. Her dreams would just freak her out.

'prem better have a good reason for keeping me up till the crack of dawn' she hissed furiously while taking out some cookies from the cupboard.

Prem groggily kept his eyes open and made his way through the front door. He had a nagging feeling that heer would be seething in anger. 12 missed calls pretty much confirmed his suspicion. He made his way to he kitchen seeing the lights on and to his sight came a very VERY angry heer charge at him.

"Where the hell hav…." She yelled but was silenced by his kiss. Sliding his hands down to her waist he gently lifted her on the kitchen platform bring her in level. However, she knew him well enough to know that he was just trying to calm her down and hopefully get her to forget about the yelling. But he had no business to keep her waiting so late! Completely engrossed, heer has to literally push prem away.

"Sorry! I'm a little late", he grinned cheekily. Resting his forehead against hers.

"Nice try but is that all you got?" heer replied wittily.

"conference call from Frankfurt. Lasted longer than expected…I lost track of time", he explained tiredly.

You better catch some sleep. We'll talk in the morning", she said softly, running her finger under his eyes which ached for sleep.

Entwining his fingers with hers, he walked up to her room. Heer grew suspicious but later dismissed it for his fatigue. Turning to say goodnight she noticed prem was miles away in thought. Easing out the crease on his forehead she asked, "Is everything okay?"

Pulling her close, he tried to find the right words to break it to her.

"heeer woh…", he started running his hands through his hair, "you know what, it can wait for tomorrow"

" it's nothing….really", he added as assurance but he knew heer's brain would fish something out.

Pecking her forehead, he hastily said good night and headed to his room for a long night
