I totally agree with only.asking and thephworld.
I think its just a difference of opinion and I respect yours. Peple are different and they view same situation differently.
I dont agree when you say that Prem and Heer's relation is under developed or need an interesting twist. I think ther love was supposed to be eternal much above the physical limits. They were supposed to be true solemates. Show started with describing thier relationship as devine.
So for me, its now hard to digest the death of such a pure relationship so easily. The eternal love/relationship is supposed to live even if the people die.
Their title song says, hum rahein na rahein, hum milein na milen, which means while alive even if they dont meet their relation ship does not end with this world.
This is just my viewpoint and I just thought of sharing it. I dont mean to offend anyone.

^ this kind of jodi is interesting, there the fun part to it as well, which Preet can add into

Preet will show the world - he is a good man, he's not Prem but he is a somebody to be proud of

Coming to your points, Heer-Preet is definately NOT incest... First of all, they are not BLOOD-related in any way, as in they're not brothers or sisters, or any family relation... and Premeer isn't married yet (this counts out Preet and Heer being bhabhi devar, which again is a relation but if they do marry after Prems death, its deffo not incest, as they aren't blood-related), so I wouldn't call their couple incest... by that same token Sumit-Kumkum from Kumkum is incest!!!

Secondly, have you considered that maybe the creatives are trying misdirection by alluding to Prem as Ram etc??? Honestly I don't think its meant to be taken so literally as I don't think this show is Ramayan or a story based on Ramayan. Infact this is one of the main reasons why I'm interested to see their jodi... it in a way reminds me of Sumit-Kumkum's story... Sumit used to call KumKum "Bhabhi" all the time, it was very difficult to imagine him referring to her in any other way... so there was this awkwardness between them when they initially married.... and it was extremely interesting to watch how they surprass their obstacles and have a happy marriage.... Ditto HeerPreet... that is if, the creatives manage it well and Sushant-Aditi have good chem!!!
