im a muslim n i agree that muslim culture is not projected properly in the serials. the muslim girl/woman shouldnt wear revealing clothes n shoud cover their heads wen they are in presence of men outside their family 😊 in hindu serials they always show a lot of pooja's done but wen it comes to muslim ones the 5 times a day prayers wont b shown done regularly😊 it seems for the script writers including urdu dialogues are enough.

muslim culture dont allow women to hav physical contacts like kissing, touching, and premarital sex with men 😊 but these things are not given a thought in the serials.

im not from saudhi but in there they hav separate doors for entering of men n women in their houses😊 if you are found stealin your left hand would be cut 😊 n there are so many other things too....

our muslim culture has so many punishments n restrictions for men n women 😛 but in many times these restrictions n punishments r given a bad name or misunderstood

so in my opinion very little of our culture is depicted in the serials 2day( its not dat i hav seen many muslim serials but from wat i hav seen this is wat i observed)

sorry for the lengthy post but i wanted to express my views on this fully 😳

actually i think they r goin abit over board.. without getting into "wat muslims"should' or "shouldnt" do".. i can tell u very clearly...not every muslim speaks the way they do.. the whole hand upto ur nose..doesnt happen either... and the whole abu jan ammi jan isnt 100% muslim either... we do say mom n dad.. we donot call our elder bros as bhai jaan.. we can call them bhaiya or bhai..and even bro... and its not always phhopi jaan khallaa jaan. etc.. honestly its like the script has been written borrowing words from an 18 century mughal literature..no wonder the actors look uncomfartable and fake when speaking thier lines...

I am a Muslim, so one word for your answer will be NO. Whatever is shown in serials/films is not even 1% of muslim culture. Muslim women dont(are not suppose to)wear revealing clothes as shown on tv. Their heads are usually covered and most importantly when a man and woman have feelings for each other they resort to marriage through parents.........and in no way they touch, hug, kiss as it is usually shown.

If you have more questions feel free to ask.

i agree wid u which dey show on tv its not in d muslim culture!😊

Well most of the Urdu speakers call their parents the way shown in the serial.I call my Parents; Abu and ammi and my elder bro.. bhai or bhaiya. Thats how Urdy speakers talk. I am not a native urdu speaker but many of my friends speak way harder Urdu than this serial. The Actors are uncomfortable because they are hindi speakers and hindi is very diff than Urdu. I like when they speak Urdu. It seams very polite.

Well they showed Afreen wearing Salwar kameez and her sister wearning jeans????? Usually, Muslims wear Traditional clothes at home not western.
Also the touching scenes such as hugging which is probihited in Islam.

i dunno about dubai or UAE but in pakistan the women and men r pretty free now n they dont stand 5ft apart n they can hug or wateve! also not all of us cover our heads or say ammi abu, we say mom daddy etc! although its true tht in all ekta shows, there r always ppl praying in temple but no one is shown praying in this serial!
also i think they went a little overboard with the urdu language.

i agree they don't show the "real" Muslim culture (what ever that means). its not necessary that in a culture every single person is the same. I have never called my parents abbo jaan or ammi jaan. yes i agree we are not suppose to wear revealing clothes but that doesn't mean we don't wear jeans or always have our head covered. i just cover my head while praying and thats about it. and its quite sad but there are only few people that pray five times a day. people should really get this idea out of their minds that all muslims or even hindus are a certain type. Whatever they are showing in the serial is of their own view on Muslim culture it is not really wrong.

I deffo agree with pricessuma , ur so rite
even i hav muslim friends .. they also wear jeans n they never cover their head , n ppl shud not forget this is a tv show
n the makers r not stupid ...muslims n india live like this (not all of em) like pricessuma said ppl shud gt the idea out of their mind that all muslims are certain types ..
but i think its being showed in a gd way ..the sisters dun really wear revealing clothes
n they do pray ..they showed it in the first epi
anyway i really like the show :p 😊

You guys pretty much said it all- whatever I say now is gonna be so small! lol! noo these tv people use fantasies, they dont depict our muslim culture and lifestyle, but i have noticed that us people abroad are closer to our religion (i know my family is) then many paki ppl we know-- paki ppl are getting a bit too modernized, they seem to be getting ahead of foreign countries 😕
