Yes you are very right. that they dont show the namaaz daily prayers in this serial. When they can show in each and every scene Pooja in other series, then why not Namaaz?

U know what...the biggest thing that has been overlooked and is very easy to incorporate with the story--any muslim story is......

saying Salam-a-laikum......
muslims only use this greeting whether meeting with family, friends strangers....so far this has not been used at all.....

what a shame to the writers to overlook something so simple while they always use 'namaste' in other serials!

I agreee with a lot of the earlier comments but I also would like to commend Ekta to have a show depicting a Muslin family which she hasn't done before by Balaji. Being a Muslim myself I know that there are varied degrees of practicing islam. As long as it is not depicted in a bad light and nothing UnIslamic is projected I am fine with it. As far as Dargah is concerned I am not even sure what that is. I know it doesn't have such an imp place in Islam or I would have known about it.
Also I have heard some of the main characters in the serial saying Asalam-o-alikum so I am not sure why gem5000 you didn't hear it.

Definitely Islamic culture has been ignored in this serial. But, don't forget the paki dramas .... I haven't seen any reflection of Islam in Paki dramas either. Lately, women are shown wearing revealing clothes as suppose to Muslim woman!

BTW, I am a Muslim!

Although you guys have used good arguments to go with ur opinion, I would like to say one thing. I have seen that in other serials, where the families are not Muslim, they are shown to do a lot of Puja, and are shown to be religious, if not all of the characters, then atleast the main character and a few others, then why not in this serial? I'm not saying that each and every woman in this serial has to be shown wearing Hijaab and covering themselves modestly, but it would be a nice gesture if atleast one of two of them were shown doing that, as an indication to what a Muslim lifestyle is really supposed to be like and atleast shown praying, which is the most important of the five pillars of Islam.

yes defintely i think that ekta or the creatives should look into showing the characters actually practising islam becuz i have also seen that in hindi serials religion is very important to the main characters so they should rightfully show them practising islam here
cuz otherwise wut would be the point of seeing this show
the culture n religion make it different

Okay I am a muslim and well religious muslims anyway do pray 5 times a day. It's just on the show they don't want to show praying all the time

The following is my opinion only 😊 ... it's not meant to hurt anyone's feelings by any means 😊 ...

In a Muslim family the prayers (Namaaz) are generally performed individually as Muslims believe one to one direct relationship with God. Also Namaaz has never been considered to look or feel sensational either in real or reel life. Namaaz is a very personal and deep commitment with God. This is the main essence and beauty of Islamic prayer. So in my opinion it's OK not to go over board in showing the prayer scenes in a show when it's really not necessary. Also the shows/movies from other predominantly Muslim countries (including Iran) also do not show the detail prayer scenes in elaboration. 😃

I do not see any problem with the dresses either. Most of the Muslim women I know (who are really good and practicing Muslims) do not wear hijab in sub continental countries (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) whereas most Muslim (some of them do not even practice the basics of the religion), even Christian or Jewish women do wear hijab in the Middle Eastern countries, due to the culture. So in reality we can not and should not judge a woman of her piety by the way she chose to dress, we do have a wide variety in this World as far as Muslim women's dressing go. 😊

As long as it's conveyed somehow that these people belong to a Muslim family (they do say Salaam and Allah-hafez) … I think it's OK. Also, it's not essential to address parents as Ammi or Abbu if you are Muslim… in my family we have variations as we have influence from both Islamic culture as well as Begali, Urdu and English language …. Mothers are called Ammu, Ammi, Maa Mommy, Ma-moni, Amma and fathers are called Abbu, Abba, Papa, Dady, Bapi, Baja and brothers are called mostly called Bhaiya or Bhai and sisters are called Apa or Apu … we all belong to the same extended family. 😊

BTW, I am just loving the show 👏 … especially the background music is very captivating 👍🏼 ….
