Khatron Ke Khiladi 6 grand finale: Ashish Chowdhry wins the finale!

10 weeks, 16 contestant, 59 stunts. And the best man has won...

After an exhausting wait, we finally have the winner of the sixth season of the celebrity stunt show, Khatron Ke Khiladi 6. Put your hand together for Ashish Chowdhry . Yes, the actor has spectacularly won the final stunt of the season.

The stunt involved a lot of everything- jumping, swimming, blasting. So the contestant would be taken in the middle of the water by a chopper and would be dropped into it. He would then swim towards a plank floating in the water to obtain 2 keys. Once done, a jetty will take the contestant close to a bank. From there, the contestant would have to swim to the shore, unlock the the boxes with the keys and find a handle. Post that he has to climb up on a raised platform. Inserting the handle in the right place would blast away a few boxes kept a little distance away. The moment the boxes blast, the time is over.

Chang, who swam in the opposite direction initially, lost a lot f time and hence took longer to complete the stunt.

Ashish has had a rough journey with his share of ups and downs on the show. But straining himself physically and emotionally has paid off quite well! And it's not just the trophy the actor takes home, Ashish has also won an amount of Rs 25 lakhs and a Mahindra Scorpio car. Isn't that great?

A very well deserved victory it was! Well, congratulations Mr Chowdhry! BollywoodLife wishes you luck in all your future endeavours.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Being part of KKK was a tough decision'

KKK winner Ashish Chowdhry talks about his stint in the show

As the latest season of Colors Khatron Ke Khiladi-Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns drew to a close, former model and actor Ashish Chowdhry came out on top as the winner in the season finale this week.

Telling us how participating in the show in South Africa was a tough decision for him as he had to leave his two-and-a-half-week-old twin daughters home, Ashish says, "When I was offered the show I said no, like I usually say to reality shows that get offered to me. It'd become almost a habit. Then I posted a question on Twitter and my fans asked me to do the show. I also happened to meet a friend who works for Endemol and she too encouraged me to do it. It was a tough decision leaving my wife and 15-day-old daughters but I realised I need some me' time."

Recalling his winning moment, Ashish says, "I remember calling my wife after the final stunt and telling her I think I have done it'. Normally going in for a stunt first can be a disadvantage but somehow I have ended up going first for my last few stunts. On paper, the last stunts were the toughest but somehow they came like music to me. I was only scared during the final plane stunt because in other stunts my life was in my hands; here my life was in the pilot's hands. My family is dependant on me and I cannot cheat them, so I decided to give up if I felt my life was in danger. Rohit (Shetty) egged me on and took the onus on himself and that's how I completed it."

So is he open to more reality shows now? "I'm open to anything now. It's been a big lesson for me. Ironically after winning I've learnt not to be afraid of losing. We are always afraid of taking part due to fear of losing," says the actor.

Speaking about how he wants to keep in touch with his competitors and fellow khiladis, Ashish says, "My house is always open to everyone. We have already had three get togethers at my place. My best friends have always been from films but now I have friends from TV too thanks to this show." About his upcoming projects, Ashish adds, "Actors have to wait for work and wait till the phone rings and my phone is ringing now. I've not signed on the dotted line yet but I may make an announcement in a week's time."

Waiting anxiously for his next venture!!! 😳
P.S. There is an awesome picture of Rohit and Ashish with Ashish holding the trophy but I don't know how to insert the pic here. If someone can post it I would appreciate it 😃

Can't help but admire this man even more...is that even possible? God Bless him! ⭐️

Ashish Chowdhry won the latest season of Khatron Ke Khiladi on Sunday after defeating Meiyang Chang in the grand finale. Ashish told us that he never expected the win and the luck of his twin daughters rubbed off on him. Excerpts from a chat after his win

The show is very intimidating

I have created a history of some sort. I had said before entering the show that I don't like cockroaches, and even during the course of the show, they tried to get me to do stunts that involved creepy-crawlies, because that would have given them major TRPs. But I never went into the elimination zone, so I didn't have to do those kind of stunts. The show is very intimidating because they conduct all sorts of medical tests on you and you think, 'What's wrong with me?'
I had never done stunts before

I never thought I would win. I have a few limitations. I know how to act but I have never done stunts or been to dance classes. I have been a normal guy and I come from a very non-filmi family. Before this, I had never done bungee jumping, sky diving or any of those things. For me, this was something that would have given me an opportunity to do things I hadn't done before - some 'me' time. There would be no family, no friends, no makeup and no spot boys. I genuinely did it to enjoy it. Of course, there was a plus point that there was money ('25 lakh) coming in with it.

A part of the prize money will go to charity

To be honest, the prize money is not something like one would win in Kaun Banega Crorepati. It's a modest sum. I always believe that a certain percentage of money should go to charity. I am part of an NGO called Masoom. It's into night schools and we have got 32 night schools. The money will go to them so that I have their blessings for utilizing the remaining amount of money.
Cute story for his children

I was blessed with twin daughters just a fortnight before I left for the show and it was for two months I didn't see them. When I actually won the trophy, I thought to myself, 'What a cute story for my children.' They love their mother who supported my joining the show. Normally any wife would say, "You are going away for two months leaving me with twins." But their mother supported their father. Also, they turned out to be so lucky for me. Their luck rubbed off on me.

Fiction for me now

I want to do fiction shows because that's what I enjoy doing the most - acting. I have been in talks for a few projects and I should be finalizing something in the next week or so.
