Aah, lovely list, Anu! 😃 Earlier, I was apprehensive about today's episode, but I really liked it...Now I'm worried about the rest of the week! All those "new twists" that might start to pull at that thread of trust... 🤔 😆
- The countdown for the New Year begins...and Saachi is extremely worried since there's no sign of DV anywhere, and he'd gone over to Pradeep's house...LOL at how Naani says, "Wahan toh neech hi neech honi hai..." and shrugs it off, but that only serves to increase Saachi's anxiety.
- Saachi is so worried for DV, and that tension shows in her body language. When DV walks through the door right at the end of the countdown, relief and happiness floods through Saachi...that wave of relief overwhelms her and she runs to hug him...She'd probably thought something bad had happened to him...Thank god he's safe! Little does she know that DV's facing turmoil within, thanks to the information he found out at that meeting with Pradeep...*sigh* DV looks so tired - this has taken such a toll on him already, poor thing - but he smiles as Saachi hugs him tight, letting her happiness wash over him for a moment as they welcome the new year together.
- "Happy New Year...Jaan..." Awww! Haha, I love how Saachi blushes a bit before adding that new term of endearment at the end...DV can't believe his ears, LOL, and I was surprised, too! 😆 Aww, and then Saachi blushes again afterwards while that slow smile creeps up on DV's face as Saachi's words sink in and register...But who is this woman and what has she done with silent, subdued Saachi? 😆 "Kya???" Saachi repeats herself, slowly and clearly, blushing all the while, and DV just looks at her with that half-bewildered, half-amused grin. For all of Saachi's predictability, there are moments like these that catch DV off guard...They come up when he's least expecting them!
- Saachi notices that DV isn't as enthusiastic or cheerful as he usually is...She asks what the matter is and DV dismisses it with a shake of his head, not wanting to spoil the moment with additional truths and troubles just yet. "Toh? Toh phir chup kyun ho? Aise...tum par chuppi bilkul suit nahi karti hai, haan..." And then Saachi looks at DV so fondly that he feels the need to bring up the issue of bharosa again, with all those unpleasant truths about his family background weighing down on him..."Dil se nahi keh rahi thi..." DV's smile fades a bit as Saachi says this, but then she continues, with affection in her eyes, "...apni puri aatma se keh rahi thi..." and some of the weight seems to lift from DV's shoulders.
- Saachi's New Year resolution: Chuppi todna! Really a very good resolution to have, especially for someone like Saachi, who has kept so much bottled up inside of her for so many reasons. That silence has been a part of her way of life for so long, and such tendencies do not change easily. I really love Saachi's monologue here, as she tells DV how she has stayed silent for so long and that she now wants to share many, many things with him...*sigh* Such lovely lines, and this moment was so beautifully enacted, too! "Dhadkanon ke raaz, mann ki uljhan, office ki pareshaaniyaan, aur...aur..." "Aur?" "Apne sapnon ki udaan..." The way DV looks at her as she says this - the worry lines on his forehead vanish and he looks at her with such softness...The lines start to appear again as Saachi verbalizes her dreams, forward but still shy...That expressiveness is starting to find its way into Saachi's words now...Before, she used to convey her love for DV nonverbally in many little ways...Now she's finally starting to open up and voice her wishes and desires...She's breaking her silence, and DV is all too aware of the cruel irony of their situation now
- "Yeh kya baat hui? Main yahan chuppi todne ki baat kar rahi hoon, aur tumne chuppi pakad li hai!" *sigh* Saachi notices DV's silence for the second time, but she thinks he's unhappy about all those times she didn't express herself freely. And so she tries to apologize, very sweetly, very sincerely, for all the trouble she's given him by staying silent. I like that sincerity of hers...she realized that her tendency to internalize things might have made things difficult in the past, and it could be a hurdle in the future, so she's going to try her best to be more open and communicative now. "Ho sakta hai ki...kaafi kuch kehte kehte...mujhe sharam aa jaaye, lekin...tab tum apni aankhen bandh kar lena!" Awww, haha! Serious things and sweet things...and possibly surprising things, too!
- The New Year's cake-cutting was a nice throwback to Saachi's birthday party cake-cutting scene. That bit with Aadu telling Saachi to feed DV a piece of the cake first made me smile...Aaji, Naani, and Aadu all consider DV to be a part of their family, and this is yet another indication of that. Before, when Saachi fed DV a piece of her birthday "cake", he was little more than a neighbor-and-close-friend to Saachi from Aaji-Naani-Aadu's perspective...Now he is much more than that...with Prabhu parivaar approval, too! Love the way Saachi and DV feed each other the cake in this scene...This time, Saachi lifts the cake to feed DV and he uses his own hand to guide her even though he doesn't really need to...This time, he gently takes the remaining bit of cake from Saachi's fingers and feeds the entire remnant to her...I also love how DV watches Saachi and the rest of the family with that smile on his face and such regard for all of them in his eyes. Seeing them happy makes him happy...but that guilt within him doesn't stay down for long...
- Naani's heartfelt thanks to DV is very sweet also! And the irony of this interaction is brought to the fore again, with DV responding with silences and smiles that don't quite manage to reach his eyes...Awww, poor DV! (I'm proud of his decision to break his silence ASAP, though! It's another matter that Saachi was too exhausted to stay awake long enough to hear it...For better or for worse, the truth has to come out sometime...)
- Random asides about the "party" - I chuckled a bit when Naani pulls Saachi over to DV with an "Aye ladki!" and Saachi responds with a "Haan?" And then the music for their little dance cracked me up. Oh, hilarious deja vu from a show I'd nearly forgotten about! Never thought I'd hear music from that show in this one, but at least some of those tunes fit in decently here...This dance music, though...What a surprise! 😆 Oh, and LOLLL at the way Saachi tries to refuse to dance, but then she turns around and sees Aaji sitting on the sofa, all settled as if she's watching a show or a movie! And then Naani joins her and Aadu takes his place behind his grandmothers, too! 😆 Saachi has no choice but to provide them with entertainment in the form of a picture-perfect slow dance, I guess! LOL!
- Thank goodness for the new stanza of JLZ! It cut off that other music...Sad, concerned, anxious DV...on the verge of feeling like he might lose Saachi because of these new revelations..."Kho na doon main tumhe...Darr hai bas yeh mujhe..." *sigh* I am so glad that Saachi is shown noticing DV's downcast expression twice during this part...So that makes a total of three times she's tried to ask him, in her own way, what the matter is...And each time, DV has shaken off her questioning glances with an "It's nothing..." sort of look. Oh, gosh...I can understand why he didn't want to tell her just then. Not a happy place to be in for either of them...
- "Kya bataanewaale ho tum mujhe?" So this was unexpected for me the first time I watched the episode...But it says quite a lot about the comfort level between DV and Saachi...That DV can come up to her room like this, in the late hours of the night (or early hours of the morning?), and sit on her bed like this...That Saachi feels comfortable enough to go a step further now and snuggle up with her head in DV's lap, almost like a child...To me, that comfort signifies yet another layer of Saachi's emotional defenses being cast away...Aww, and the way DV reaches over to wrap his fingers around her shoulder as she rests her head on his thigh...Such a natural flow to this moment as she's resting, waiting for him to tell her what he wanted to say earlier...and he can't quite figure out how to break the news to her...Still he tries...he manages to get the words out, but it's too late... (Aside: I feel like we rarely get to see Saachi with her hair down and framing her face like that...It gives her an even more youthful appearance than usual...She looks very sweet and innocent - and more vulnerable, too, I suppose - like this.)
- New Year's Day...DV's feeling restless and the anxiety is only increasing, it seems, from the way the previous day's events and Anvay/Saachi/Naani's voices keep haunting him...It's very cute how Saachi comes to see him in the morning, all cheerful and playful, her smile brightening even more as DV feels her hands when she covers his eyes. Haha, she gets all pouty when DV instantly kills the mood and tells her he knows it's her only 😆 I also like how Saachi doesn't remove her arms from around DV in spite of his "I'm in no mood to play" vibes. DV, for his part, is so tense about the identity revelation but still he puts a smile on his face and tries to engage in conversation. His mood lifts a little bit but his smile still doesn't reach his eyes. Saachi is so sweet in this bit, listing all the special things she made for breakfast since they are DV's favorite breakfast foods - "Par tum toh aaye hi nahi!" *pouts* - and then perking up a little while "scolding" him about not being able to drink tea with him...Too cute, the way she sulks while playing with his hand and then cheers up not too long after that!
- DV has got that proverbial storm brewing within him still, and that gloom isn't going anywhere! He's afraid of the repercussions of the revelations he has to make, because relationships are at stake here...He's afraid of losing Saachi now, and in his own cryptic way, he's expressing those fears...Saachi has no idea what this onset of gloom is about, but she immediately reassures DV about being more communicative...They need to build a bridge of communication and she's taking the steps to act on what she said she would do...Quite the contrast, a role reversal of sorts, as noted by many...
- Saachi saying that the strawberry farm is not just hers, but also DV's...I really liked how naturally that "humaare farm" bit came out! "Aise kaise toot jaayenge hum?" Besides the fact that Saachi is now the one trying to reassure DV that their bond won't shatter into pieces just like that, she acknowledges that, so far, DV has been the one to take initiative in saving their relationship when it has come close to breaking...that he's been the one to step forward and lead...She's seen how much he has invested in this relationship and she admits it...That's why her bharosa, her faith in him, has strengthened...When she hugs him after that, I feel like it's a hug filled with gratitude.
- DV's expression when Saachi takes his hand and gives him a kiss to keep in his palm...Awww! The amount of affection DV's eyes hold for Saachi astounds me at times...*sigh* And this is a time when he's unable to respond as freely as he normally would...Aww, but Saachi shyly takes another step forward on the communication bridge as she shows DV where he can return her kiss...He genuinely brightens up for a moment...That grin of his! Awww! And awww again at Saachi briefly closing her eyes as she moves her finger to the area just beneath her bottom lip! DV's reactions to all this - "Aah...Really?!" The way he looks down at Saachi with that amused, adoring smile as she buries her face in her hands after the "kahin aas paas!" bit is very cute! And then Saachi looks up at him again with a sort of "Look at the state I'm in now...Tumhaari wajah se!" after which she leaves, with a light thwack on his shoulder! 😆
- Annnd the ring is back! Such a beautiful, beautiful scene! Very poignant, with wonderful acting from both Ruslaan and Sangita to add to the shine of the writing and dialogues! Saachi is so overwhelmed by DV's gesture and his words...The shine in her eyes...that seriousness in his eyes...Bittersweet, this...*sigh*
