Ulka doesn't pretend to be good. People don't have any wrong idea about Ulka. She is rude , she is mean minded, she is irritating but she is not cunning or back-stabber. She is well wisher of Saachi. She wants Saachi to settle in her life in a good family but in her own way. I think she is far better than Prachi's family , who change their colour with situation & DV's family, who are selfish, ruthless & double faced.
She is not the worst character of the serial.
