wow..you just reminded me why i missed your updates so much...i love this story. I especially loved the details of each character. Tho there was no Prachi in this update...😭 I'll make do with Milind's anger towards the chief at the mere thought that she may have been harmed, and ofcourse Neev and Ayesha were marvelous...the sexual tension between them makes it so much fun to watch (i mean read) their interaction. lolz..i am in a hurry or i would comment in details but i loved it absolutely. Only hope that the next update comes real soon.

Very well written Prats!
Loved Neev and Ayesha...And yes, I do miss her on the show...Whenever I read FFs with a Neesha love angle, I really wish we weren't deprived of it in KYM!So Milind seems reaalllyyy concerned about someone! Hmmmm thats nice..! Hope they meet soon.. :-)Waiting for your next update!
"Dare I hope you slept well, Your Royal Highness?"
"You shouldn't," was the dry reply as Milind ran a hand over his hair in vexation. He was tired, his body craved for a little sleep, his feet hurt, there was no sign of his wife anywhere and he had to tolerate the Chief's nauseating enthusiasm about having all his demands agreed to. His eyes holding the Chief's, he told him plainly though the underlying menace in his tone was unmistakable. "Do not tempt me to see to your discomforts because believe me, it's a highly appealing thought and I'm not used to ignoring my temptations."
Wisely choosing to say no more, the Chief's sharp eyes noted the way some of his people, mostly women, carried a bundle inside Abenaki's hut. His eyes turned to the dark man beside him who obeyed an unspoken command and instantly went in the same direction.
"This King of Shoran…tell me more about him."
His gaze instantly returned to the Prince sitting next to him, staring moodily into space, and he obeyed the royal command at once. "King Dhananjay, its said, is the Prince of a Kingdom in the north though no one knows which. Actually, people know very little about him except that he's desirous of an alliance with a powerful Kingdom to further his cause of making the most powerful empire. Some even say, that he's besotted with a young Princess of the same Kingdom though we cannot be certain that a man of his cruel countenance can ever have any tender emotions."
A brow lifted in silent mockery as the Prince stated dryly, "Everything is mere supposition then?"
Stiffening a little at the ridicule he read into the Prince's tone, he said defensively, "Well, the King of Shoran prefers to keep an air of mystery around of him. He considers no one as his friend, which I gather is a must considering his high ambitions."
"And you want me to challenge him based on just assumptions, I gather?"
"Everything is not based on assumptions, Your Highness!" he stated heatedly. "The King is considered a tyrant by everyone. I can show you families as support to my claim! Families which are so poor that it is all they can do to keep themselves alive and all because a major part of their income goes towards paying the huge taxes levied on them. I can show you women! Women who have turned to brothels or sold themselves into slavery to earn a living because their husbands were killed mercilessly for sport or for minor crimes! There are many other instances I can give but I have not the heart to utter every one of them."
There was silence for sometime as Milind sat back, a thoughtful frown on his face. "And no one ever resorted to mutiny? Did no one think to protest?"
"They did…" Hukama replied softly, his eyes turning misty as he recalled some painful memories. "We all did…which is why we are here – on the outskirts of the Kingdom. And to ensure that no further opposition would have to be faced at a later date, they have many of our women with them."
At his questioning look, the Chief continued in a voice hoarse with emotion. "My wife is one of them."
Milind closed his eyes in shared sorrow. He could well understand the Chief's determination to seek revenge now. He didn't love Prachi but there was a feeling in him…a protective instinct which would not let him rest in peace until he found out what had actually become of his wife. And guilt…the guilt tore at him every time he came at a dead end! She had not asked anything of him, it wasn't her fault that everything had gone haywire. He knew that now. Prachi was too dutiful for her to try anything so rash as the switching of brides.
But he had not wanted to understand anything at that time, so disappointed had he been to discover that the woman he had begun to love could never be his that he had somehow laid all the blame at his wife's door. And she hadn't uttered a word to change that, had merely accepted that as if she really believed herself responsible for his unhappiness!
A spark of determination and renewed fury flashed in his eyes as he opened them again.
"Consider him dead."
"I wish to leave."
The women looked at each other uneasily and then at the woman sitting up on the bed. There was silence as each contemplated the best way to counter this command. Impatiently, the woman tossed the covers aside and stood up albeit slowly. "Hum yahan se jaana chahte hain, didn't anyone understand me?"
"We understood perfectly, Your Royal Highness," Anahita told her, stepping forward. "But you are not to leave…yet."
"Why not?" Prachi snapped, her usual placid disposition sorely strained in the past few hours. She had been brought to a rundown hut immediately after reaching the tribal village and then given something to eat which had made her fall asleep immediately. Though the sleep had done much to restore her health, she did not appreciate waking up to find herself in a different surrounding than before, surrounded by strangers who stared at her oddly and refused to answer any questions.
She wanted to leave! She had to find her way back! Her people would be worried sick about her or worse, might even be grieving if they considered her dead!
"I…I cannot say anything now, Princess," Anahita answered, a bit intimidated by the regal way she held herself and spoke. She knew it wasn't normal to deny Royalty anything they desired, but she was also helpless. Oh, why didn't the Chief hurry!
"Then I'm leaving now and nobody should dare to stop me," Prachi told them calmly, walking firmly towards the women who blocked the exit, fully expecting them to move aside…which they were too unsettled not to.
However she bumped into a hard chest and nearly fell down. She looked up to find a tall dark tribal who gazed at her without speaking for sometime and then just said one word, "Come." She stared thunderstruck at his back for several moments as he walked away from her, straight towards the common ground. This happened to be the first time that someone who wasn't a part of the Royal family had issued her a command and actually expected her to follow it! Sighing, she obeyed, seeing no point in resisting any further and feeling quite curious about all the happenings she had been associated with throughout the day.
As they came onto a clearing, she could clearly see the remnants of food on the tables spread out all over the common ground as well as blood- stained spears hanging from trees. Shaking her head at the absurdity of these dangerous customs, she tripped over a delicate shining material lying on the ground. Sighing at her own foolishness, she stood up slowly, dusting her white dress made of coarse material that had been provided to her by one of the village women.
Quick footsteps coming in her direction made her raise her eyes and what she saw made her stand stock still as relief and joy burst into her. Unable to tear her eyes away from her husband's figure walking towards her, she let her gaze rove over his form, noting the way he limped a little.
His expression inscrutable, he stood before her silently. Tears formed in her eyes as she looked at the man she hadn't expected to see ever again when she had held onto that branch, knowing that this just might be her end…that she would never find out now if later things might have become different between them.
A breeze ruffled his hair as he still looked down at her without saying anything. She raised a hand towards him, not knowing what she was reaching for. Before her hand could touch him, he caught it in his own and raised it to his lips, brushing his lips lightly over it. His gaze holding on to hers, his breath warm against her hand, he said in his familiar deep voice, "Welcome back, my Princess."

Wow, you are back. I missed youuuuu. I thought this story was going to be abandoned. Thank God you are back. I am starting to love the Neesha track. Poor Ayesha, I understand her point of view even though shes so stubborn. Hopefully Neev will understand that as well. Looks like hes already smitten by her though. Love cant be too far behind right😉
I am worried about Prachi though. Its touching to see Milinds concern but where is she??? And whats with the creepy chief? Does he know Prachi's whereabouts?
Do continue soon.
