BC, it may be hard to believe but BT shows did keep a close touch with current events at one time. I still remember when there were the floods in Mumbai on July 26th in 2004 with a record rainfall of nearly a meter on a single day, this was incorporated in one of their shows. However, over the years it appears that BT has become greedy, trying to grab on the time slots in the leading channels and also try and make inroads into the new channels. As a result now they have 12 shows airing in different channels. Overworked creatives are devoid of creativity and are particularly regressive and their plots repulsive to say the least. With emphasis on quantity, quality has suffered pretty badly.
Coming to the topic, KYM has its own calendar. They recently celebrated Teej puja which is normally celebrated in Aug-Sep. So I really dont know which month or year we are in as per KYM calendar. And yes, the characters inhabiting SM do not believe in hanging even this weird KYM calendar in any of its walls. Appears that the Shergills have more money than the Shahs and the Mishras. Atleast they have a T.V. set. and are not forced to make do with a rusty transistor.
As Shabz pointed out, the viewers are taking all this crap for only one reason - Michi. If there is a even the slighest danger of their purity being sullied, the Michians will bid adieu to this rotten brainless show.
