Part 18
"Shhhhh...Shh....Its me, Prachi. Don't scream"
Prachi recognized that voice...it was Milind. She made a fist and hit him hard on his chest. "You!!!!" She shrieked. "What r doing here and at this time??" She pushed him towards the wall. "What if somebody sees u?? Aaj to meri khair nahin...haaye rabba!!" (I m in deep trouble, oh god!!)She said as she panicked.
"Shhhh...Sach mei bahut bolti ho tum.(U really talk too much)" Milind said with a frown "Meri baat to suno(listen to me)...its late and everybody is asleep. Koi nahin dekhega hume(nobody will see us) plus we have our dear friend to keep a watch for us" He said as he pointed towards Neev's direction. Neev waved at her and then signalled them to carry on as he once again fixed his eyes upon the main door.
"But why r u here??" Prachi looked at him with surprise though she was equally happy and thrilled at the moment. She had been missing him and seeing him here in front of her and the fear that they might be caught at this precise moment made it even more exciting.
Milind grasped her hand and took her to the side away from the main door. He knew Prachi was terrified at the moment, so was he. He never would have done something like that if it wasn't for Neev.
"Yaar, tu darta bahut hai. Main hoon na(Buddy, u get scared very easily.I m here for u )" said Neev keeping his hand on his shoulder. "Tu hai issi ka to dar hai, paagal(u r here, thats what is scaring me)" Milind replied removing his hand from his shoulder. After some thought Milind decided against it. "Nahin yaar, its too risky, I will just call her" said Milind as he took out his phone to call Prachi. Neev snatched the phone from his hands. "No, U won't." Milind looked at his friend in confusion. "We r going and thats final. I know u want to. Aree chup chup ke milne mein alag hi maza hai" Neev winked at him.
"Ab chal" he said as he dragged Milind out the door with him.
"Milind, kya hua??(What happened) Why r u here??" Prachi asked once again bringing him out of his thoughts. She was terrified at the moment and Milind's silence didnot help.
"Aree yaar, kuch khaas nahi.(Nothing much) I m leaving for delhi in half an hour" He replied. "Lekin tum to kal jaane wale the na(but u were gonna tomorrow)" She looked puzzled. Milind nodded as affirmative "Baba ka phone aaya tha.(Baba called) There is a business meeting tomorrow which he wants me to attend. He wants me to leave right now so that I can reach Delhi on time for the meeting" He tried to explain.
"Why couldn't u just tell me this over the phone? " She asked folding her arms.
"Phir tumhe in kapdon mei kaise dekhta??(Then how would have seen u in these clothes?)" he winked at her. Prachi suddenly realized she was in her pink satin pajamas and she blushed as Milind eyes grazed over the body.
"U look adorable, I must say!!!" He said placing his hands on her shoulders. Prachi took a step back but when her back touched the cold wall, she realized she had no where to go. He lowered his face to come close to hers. His hands moved from her shoulders towards her face as they grazed her neck slightly on the way. Prachi's breathing became shallow as her heart rate increased, unknowingly her head bent down as her eyes stared at the floor. Milind cupped her face and pulled her face up so he could look into those mesmerizing dark eyes. He brought his lips close to hers and asked "Tumhe mujhe hi yaad kar rahi thi na??(U were missing me, right?)" But when Prachi shook her head in negative he was taken aback with surprise. He moved his head back a little to take a good look on the face.
"Nahin??" He asked.Looking at the puzzled facial expression she replied with a mischievious smile "Nahin to, tumne hi to kaha tha yaad unko kiya jata hai, jinhe hum bhool jaate hain" (U said it urslef that we remember them who we have forgotten) "Prachi!!! shaitaan kahin ki (U naughty)" He mumbled as he brought his lips back to hers and kissed her gently. Prachi hands went up his chest and rested on his shoulders. As the kiss deepened, both their bodies glued to eachother and left no space for air. Milind's hands caressed her back slowly before he found a part of a bare skin on her waist. Prachi had clung to his body and her shirt rode up exposing her waist which Milind had found. His hand touched her skin which was smooth as silk. He made small circles with his finger while he kissed her slowly moving away from the lips towards her jaw line and then her neck. He lingered on the touch as Prachi's breathing became erractic. She suddenly withdrew from his embrace and looked in his eyes, there was love in them no doubt. Milind knew exactly what had caused her to pull away like that. He brought his hands up her face, caressing it with his hands, he put away the stray strands behing her ear. Finally resting his forehead on hers, he waited patiently for both their breathing to get back to normal. Once he was satisfied that they were fine, he rubbed her nose with his and asked "Ab yeh kiss ko to yaad karogi na" (Now will u remember this kiss?)
Prachi lips curled up into a shy smile. Hitting him on the chest playfully she said "Now GO, before somebody sees u" and pushed him away.
"Ok ok" Milind raised his hands in defeat and turned to leave. He turned back once again to look at her. She raised her eyebrows asking "Ab kya??(Now what?)" He walked towards her and whispered softly "I love you Pari" and waited for a reply. "Me too and ab jaao (now go) please" she said grabbing his arms pushed him towards where Neev was standing. She folded her hands and pleaded silently mouthing the words "GO"
Milind and Neev quietly drove away. Prachi walked towards her room but when she saw her mother standing in the hallway, she froze dead in her tracks. "Prachi, yeh Neev kyun aaya tha aur is waqt?(what was Neev doing here at this time)" She inquired looking at her daughter's flushed face. "Woh ma, woh.." She tried to find some words. "Maine abhi abhi uski car dekhi jaate huye(I just saw his car drive away)" a confused PL turned to look outside pointing in the direction. "Ma, he is leaving for Delhi so came to say bye" She finally said as calmly as possible and rushed to her room leaving a confused PL behind.
Milind sat quietly smiling to himself as Neev drove back to their house. "So I guess I was right" He said looking at his friend's broad smile. Milind turned to Neev and gave a big grin "Tu kabhi galat hota hai?? Chal ab jaldi kar mujhe nikalna hai"(are u ever wrong, now drive fast, I have to leave)
Prachi lay in her bed and tried hard to sleep but her mind kept wandering to Milind's thoughts. She wondered if he would miss her just as much she missed him. She had gotten into a habit of seeing him daily but now he was gone, gone miles away. She remembered the first time she had laid her eyes on him and then each day later how she was slowly but definetely attracted to him. She remembered their first kiss and then her thoughts drifted to the one they had shared just a moments ago. She got up from the bed and dialed his cell.
Milind had reached Neev's home and was busy giving instructions to the driver who was loading the luggage in the car when his mobile rang. He picked it up and without seeing the caller ID casually said "Hello" His voice gave her a weird happiness and a smooth satisfaction, she smiled and replied "Hi" Listening to her voice on the other end, he panicked a little "Kya hua?? Sab theek hai na?"(what happened? Is everything ok there?)" Suddenly Prachi realized she sounds so foolish for calling him when he was just here few minutes ago Smacking her hand on her forehead she said "Nahin, I mean haan, sab theek hai.(No, I mean yes. Everything is fine) I just called u to say happy journey aur pahunch kar ek baar call kar dena"(call me once u reach) "Oh ok, I will" Milind smiled as he took a breath of relief. "Aur kuch madam??(anything else?)" He asked in his mischievious tone. He heard "Nahin bas,(no nothing)ok then bye" and then the click. Milind looked at his cell and smiled as he sat in the car, happy that she was missing him already. The thought swelled his heart and he waved Neev goodbye. "See you in a few days" He said as the car started to move away from the shergill house and disappeared into the darkness of the night.
