Post an event to announce the tie up of their film, Mission Istaanbul with UK based famous fashion brand, Savile Row, the stars of the film – Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, Sunil Shetty, Nikitan Dheer, Shabbir Ahluwalia and debutant Shweta Bhardwaj - walked the ramp at the ongoing India Fashion Forum 2008.
Yeh Apun Ka Style Hai
All the lead stars from the film came dressed in their character. While Vivek, who plays an ex-Indian armed forces man came dressed up casually sporting long hair, Sunil, who plays a dark character in the film, was wearing an all black with a black muffler to match, newcomer Shweta Bhardwaj a trendy blazer and standing as the odd man out was a bi-spectacled Zayed Khan in a formal suite. Zayed told us, "I am playing a television journalist in the film and have yet added a bit of glamour with the stylized dressing to it. Someone just pointed out I am looking geeky but I don't think so."
"I had done Shootout At Lokhandwala with Apu (Apoorva Lakhia) and loved the way he presented my character Maya in it. But I guess he hates the way I look so he keeps ordering changes in my look in every film I do for him." joked Vivek.
Mission Charity
Producer of the film, Sunil Shetty added, "A part of the proceedings from the Savile Row collections would be used towards charity for children's education. This inspired us to associate ourselves with them."
Post the press conference, all the stars present and Jeetendra, whose production company Balaji Telefilms Ltd is the co-producing the film, walked the ramp sporting the Savile Row clothes at the India Fashion Forum 2008 Awards Nite. The veteran actor managed to get the maximum response from the audience when he walked down the ramp as compared to the younger stars of the film.
Jab Bore Kiya To Karna Kya
At the press conference, most of the questions were initially being directed at the film's producer-actor Sunil Shetty, director Apoorva Lakhia and Vivek Oberoi, the second lead of the film. Zayed Khan, who was feeling a little left out, thus resorted to sketching on the piece of paper kept in front of him. We managed to catch a glimpse of what Zayed ended up sketching.
Speaking about the film, Lakhia said, "I would like to make it clear that this film is not about terrorism. It is about an Indian in a foreign land where there is terrorism around him and how he comes across information which is vital to the planet. He manages to secure a copy of it and begins his journey back to India. In this journey the other characters in the film, either betray him or help him out." Lakhia went on to add, "Everyone today wants to know about terrorism and whether it is really there or dead already. My film tries to look a little deeper into it."
