Part 35:
Prachi had been fretting over what she was going to tell Aryan. No matter what, Prachi knew that she could not go to the Gujral wedding. She knew for certain the Neev would be there, and maybe, even Milind. She did not want her past conflicting with her present. She really couldn't go to this wedding.
Prachi was getting ready to go to the office, when her phone rang. She reluctantly picked it up, realizing that the number on the call display was Aryan's. "Hello," she spoke.
"Hey Pari! How are you doing? Sorry for springing this on you, all of the sudden, but I just received a huge job order this morning. We have just been given the responsibility of overseeing the opening of a new hotel located in Sydney, Australia. I need to get to Sydney as soon as possible, but my father is not feeling well and so I must spend the day with him. I'll be in Sydney tomorrow. Still, though I need someone to go there today and do an analysis of what type of marketing is best suited for the opening day. I don't trust anyone else in the situation but you. Please, Pari, would you be able to go to Sydney today? Don't worry about the wedding, I will get Deepa to take over and I am sure she will handle her job effectively.
Prachi was relieved. She felt as if a burden had been lifted off her shoulders. She wouldn't have to go to the wedding. Prachi smiled, and then realized that she hadn't responded to Aryan, who was waiting for her reply anxiously on the other end of the phone, "Sure Aryan. When do I leave?"

Neev walked into the apartment kitchen dressed in a sophisticated white sherwani. He turned around and noticed that Milind was casually sipping a cup of coffee, and just looking out the window.
"Milind, why aren't you dressed? Aren't you going to the wedding?"
"No" was the simple response from Milind.
"Are you going to be working?"
Milind chuckled, "Yes, Neev. I suppose you could call this work."
Neev was curious. He did not like the tone of voice Milind was using. "Milind," he questioned, "What will you be doing?"
"Too many questions Neev! Yaar, chill!" complained Milind, "You're getting late for the wedding, you should go."
Shaking his head in annoyance, Neev walked out of the apartment to attend his cousin's wedding.
Seconds later, Milind's phone rang. Milind knew that the call was from Aryan Malhotra. "Hello," Milind gruffly answered.
"Good morning Mr. Mishra" spoke a jovial Aryan.
"Good morning," muttered Milind.
"Sir, I wanted to let you know that I will not be able to fly down to Syndey immediately. However, Pari, who is extremely talented, is travelling to Syndey today. She will oversee all of the necessary elements, until I arrive there tomorrow. Rest assured, everything will be done wonderfully."
"Thanks, Mr. Malhotra. I hope this Pari is the same girl that took care of the press conference yesterday. She was wonderful at her job and a perfectionist. We want her to be extremely involved in this project as well. I admired her work ethic," spoke Milind, trying to sound casual and nonchalant.
"Yes sir. Pari is the one who was responsible for the press conference yesterday."
"One more thing Mr. Malhotra," spoke Milind, with his tone hardening, "I hope you did not tell this Pari or anyone else in your company or in the media that you are overseeing the opening of MY hotel. This information is confidential. I don't want my rivals or the press getting word of any of this. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Mr. Mishra. You told me this last night as well, when you called to arrange the deal. I am well aware of your need for privacy, and rest assured, I will honor my word. I have not, and will not, tell anyone that my company is working with Milind Mishra."
"Good," said Milind, "This information will come out soon enough. But I would prefer this information to remain a secret, and a surprise, till the opening ceremony of the hotel in Sydney. Now, excuse me, Mr. Malhotra, I must attend to some other pressing matters."
"Yes Mr. Mishra," responded Aryan from the other end of the phone, "Have a nice day."
"Yea, you too," answered Milind curtly as he hung-up.
Milind immediately called his assistant Neha. "Neha, don't ask any questions and just do as I say. First, arrange me a ticket to Sydney, Australia as soon as possible. Second, arrange me a hot date for the trip."
Neha laughed on the other end of the phone, "That shouldn't be a problem Mr. Mishra. I have a desk drawer full of the phone-numbers of actresses, models, and other females who are dying to go on a date with you."
Milind did not laugh or chuckle, he simply said, "Do it immediately." He quickly hung up the phone and walked into his room to pack for his trip to Sydney. A trip, that he knew, would be unforgettable.
