6-year-old Rudrakshi shoots for 16 hours a day!

Rudrakshi Shetty, a six-year-old child actor is currently shooting 16 hours a day for Kasauti. In the serial, she plays Kanishtha (an 8-years-old), youngest daughter of Tushar and Doris. Kasauti has taken a leap, its fourth one on 10 May.

Rudrakshi's mother Jaya says, "She has been shooting for 16 hours for the last three days as they want a bank of episodes now. Earlier, she used to shoot for four hours. Even now I think her working hours are less. However, we have to travel a lot to reach here on the sets."

Elaborating on her busy schedule, her mother adds, "Sometimes, she has to shoot for Kayamath as well but only on Saturdays. (Rudrakshi plays the role of a young Prachi in the serial.) Now her vacations are on. Therefore, she can shoot for more hours but when her school starts, we will have to adjust her school and shoot timings."

Doesn't she get tired? "Yes, she does. To help her relax, we went to Panchgani last week, but unfortunately, she had to end up shooting over there too. If I would have been aware of it, then I would not have arranged this trip."

When asked whether her daughter is enjoying this, she replied in the affirmative. "She is interested in acting and has been doing mimicry since the age of two. I was totally against her acting but her father wanted her to be famous and I am just supporting her. She is also learning dance and has won many awards for that. Someone saw her mimicry and told her father to make Rudrakshi's portfolio. We did that and now she is receiving many offers."

And what about the money part? "She is not here for money, she is doing it just because she is interested in acting. Whenever, she says, I do not like it, I will tell the production house that she doesn't want to continue. We generally tell the production house about our package. If they say yes, then we go ahead with it. We never argue for money."

Rudrakshi has just passed her 1st std exams and scored an impressive 96 per cent. She is studying in the Divine Child School, Andheri, Mumbai. Her Santoor soap advertisement with Saif Ali Khan is already on air. She has even done the South version of the ad with Madhavan. She has featured in an ad for Jaicom Homes with Nagesh Kuknoor and also done ads for TATA Sky and Medicare shampoo.
