Biography:
Shabbir father is an ex-army officer and he is the youngest of three siblings. He has one sister and one brother. He is a hard-core Mumbaite and has played soccer for Bombay University and baseball at the national level.
Shabbir first featured in a few episodes of Hip Hip Hooray when he was in college. He then auditioned for and bagged the role of Aniket Virani in the popular serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. His next venture into television portraying the character of Rishi Ghraewal in the Balaji serial Kahin To Hoga bought him fame and recognition in the industry. He has also appeared in cameo roles in various other Star Plus serials as well as a special appearance in the popular Zee television serial Kasam Se. Currently he is appearing in the serial Kayamath in the lead role of Milind Mishra.
He has also made his mark in the Indian film industry with his portrayal of RC, a ruthless gangster in Apoorva Lakhia's chartbuster Shootout at Lokhandwala. He was nominated for the Max Stardust award for "The New Menace 2008" for this role, which was well received by both the audiences and critics. This was followed by his second film Mission Istanbul playing the role of Khalil, a terrorist.
He continues to work in both films and television. Apart from acting he has hosted the popular television celebrity dance reality show Nach Baliye for 2005 & 2006, the Star Parivaar Awards in 2007 and Dancing Queen in 2008.
