During the week Milind kept Prachi updated about the arrangements his making for the grand unveiling of his house to Baba and Sukruti. He had come up with the idea to surprise Baba and Sukruti on Saturday morning, also to host a house warming party in evening. The party would consist of the Mishras, Shahs and Shergills so it would be enjoyable gathering of familiar people. The party itself was not a grand affair just a chance for everyone to visit the new house but also to catch up with each other.
As Saturday arrived Prachi was pleasantly surprised how excited Milind was about showing Baba and Sukruti the house. He had called Prachi before he took Baba and Sukruti to the house expressing how nervous he was feeling. After showing the house Milind called Prachi to tell her how Baba and Sukruti had reacted and she could easily tell from his voice that he was ecstatic with how happy his family were. It thrilled Prachi that she was able to part of such a project that brought such joy.
Prachi walked into the house ahead of her family and was greeted by Milind who wore a pleasing smile. Milind stayed by the door to welcome the other Shahs while Prachi ventured in. As Prachi looked around she couldn't help but feel proud of her and Milind's accomplishment also every corner had a story to tell her. This was one project Prachi carried out which was so close her heart, with this project she gained such many happy memories and developed a deeper friendship with Milind which she was sincerely grateful for. "Baba how are you?" Prachi asked after touching Baba's feet with respect. Baba embraced Prachi, "Very happy, thanks to you and Milind. You have decorated this house so beautifully, thank you beta." "Baba what is there to say thank you about? But you do like it?" "Yes it's prefect..." Prachi smiled at Baba's response feeling a sense of fulfilment. "Sukruti how are you? Did you like your room?" "Prachi it's amazing! I mean love it..." Sukruti excitedly gave Prachi a hug. The Shergills followed and once they all greeted the party divided into two. The older generation sat inside talking while the younger group decided to take advantage of the warm and breezy night as they sat outside. Milind had found a sheet to cover the lawn and that everyone could fit on. At first everyone talked in the own little groups. Neev and Ayesha discussed the house, Sukruti, Alaap, Soumya and Saket competed with each other to talk. While Milind and Prachi sat happily observing everyone. "Prachi you should have been here when I showed Baba and Sukruti the house, they couldn't believe it. It felt good seeing that proud look in Baba's eyes it makes all the struggles I faced worth it. Sukruti was like a kid again so excited and for once lost for words." "Oh that sounds so good...I bet the look on their face when you told them it was their new home was just amazing." "It was I should have taken a picture, Prachi I know I'm not allowed to say thank you but this all wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for you. You've helped me so much not only with the house but you know..." Milind said not wanting to bring the issue up. "Milind I have gained a real good friend in you and seeing Baba and Sukruti so happy is such a great reward. And we both helped each other out with our issues so I believe we are even," Prachi laughed.
"Let's play a game..." Sukruti announced however not everyone was convinced.
"A game? We're not kids anymore Sukruti..." Milind replied not at all keen with the idea. "Go on Milind it'll be fun..." Ayesha helped out Sukruti. Not wanting to ruin everyone's fun Milind reluctantly gave in as Sukruti announced the game of truth or dare with her own rules. Whoever spun the bottle gave the truth/dare to the person that the bottle stopped on then that person would spin the bottle next. Milind had started the game deeming he was the oldest therefore held the right to do so. The bottle stopped on Neev who chose to tell the truth, Ayesha sat next to him giving him an intent look. "So Neev please let us all know one thing about Ayesha you don't like..." Milind laughed knowing that this truth would be fun to watch. Ayesha closed the gap between her and Neev, "give your answer after a good and proper think..."she warned. "One thing...umm...I like everything about her..." Neev stuttered. "Neev don't lie there must be one thing? I know of her many bad habits but I won't share them as it's not my turn..." Milind laughed while Ayesha gave him a sharp glare and Prachi turned to tell him how cruel he was to ask such a question. "Well she does have a short-temper...she'll go over-top angry with the littlest things...but you know that don't you Ayesha..." Neev said trying not to be too detailed, knowing Ayesha would not be favourable. Neev then quickly spun the bottle so he'd not have to say anymore. The bottle stopped on Sukruti who opted for a dare. "Sukruti you have to dance for all of us standing in the centre..." Neev said thinking it was a good challenge. "That's it..." Sukruti leisurely stood up and took her place, "...you guys can sing for me at least..." Everyone started singing and could easily see Sukruti had practiced this dance routine as she carelessly swayed to the song carrying each step on cue. Sukruti finished her dare with a round of applause which she replied to be taking several bows. Sukruti sat down to spin the bottle hoping it stopped on someone good and it did. Milind could not protest as everyone focused in on him and he asked for a truth hoping it saved him from any embarrassment.
"A very simple question for you but one with a complicated answer let's see how you do...The question is what is love?" Sukruti knew that Milind would not able to answer this question due to his unopeness with emotions. Everyone looked at Milind keenly awaiting his answer while Milind sat relaxed and narrated, "when you know that there is a woman you want to spend the rest of your life with, you don't need anyone else is company as she will be all the company you need. You can trust her with all your heart and confide in her about everything and anything. Every day that she is in your life you have a warm feeling inside and smile on your face. Every minute of the day she is on your mind and you can't wait to meet her. When you look in to her eyes you find everything you need." Every word Milind said seemed to be so meaningful and all the things he described he had experienced also Prachi felt the same impact on her everything made sense. As Milind said the final lines he slowly closed his eyes. "When you close your eyes she is the only person you can imagine your future with. All these feelings that you experience don't last a week, month or a year but for the rest of your life. That's what love is." With these last words a revelation came forward to both Milind and Prachi, they were in love. They were both taken out of their reverie by the loud applause from everyone. "Bhaiya I know this not you talking but someone else. My brother can never come up with such beautiful words." Sukruti said in disbelief. "You are right these are not my own words but the words of an amazing person who taught me the meaning of love," Milind looked up to Prachi with a look of gratitude unbeknown to her that he was sincerely thanking her for teaching him what love was, the love that he had for her. Ayesha had carefully observed the scene and knew exactly was going on between her sister and best friend. After that moment the rest of the night was a blur for Milind and Prachi as one thought circled their mind the thought of one another.
Once the party was over Milind got into his bed his body ached after the long day however his mind was wide awake. He was in love and this time for real, something in his heart told him that Prachi was the person he was meant to be with. Milind was excited with the revelation that made sense of his recent behaviour. Prachi was the one who occupied his thoughts constantly, brought a smile to his face and never let him feel alone. Now everything had pieced together in Milind's mind he wanted to tell Prachi, instead of wasting any time. He carefully planned in his mind how and what he was going to say so that the moment could be perfect.
Prachi sat by her window looking at the night sky, the moon lit up everything with its soft glow. The stillness of the night made it seem as if time had stopped, Prachi sat questioning why she hadn't realised before today the growing love she had for Milind, tonight it had hit her and everything became clear. Unable to sleep Prachi sat by the window for hours reminiscing on all the moments she spent with Milind. The man of her dreams was no one other than Milind, a stranger she had met a couple of months back who had taught her many lessons in life, but the most important love.
