He loves all the attention he gets from girls. With his chocolate boy looks, he is quite high on popularity charts. That's television actor Jay
In town for the auditions of the show Dance India Dance, Jay says that this is his second visit to Ahmedabad and he "loves the city. I am extremely happy to be here. After my retirement, I would like to come and settle down here. This place is so cool." Jay simply can't resist pani puri, sevpuri and Punjabi food and that is why he also sampled the local pani puri and just said "yummy" after having it. Talking about his new reality show, he says, "The show is not different but the contestants are and they are the ones who are going to make it exciting. Before coming to Ahmedabad my brother had told me that Gujarati families are very conservative and we wouldn't get good response here. But trust me Ahmedabad has amazing talent." Ask him about his decision to host a reality show and he says, "Reality shows are a part of television industry today. I was a television anchor before I took up acting. I have atleast anchored 2000 to 3000 live shows. So there's nothing new for me. I took up this particular show as I wanted to do some creative work and not just to earn money." And to survive in these shows, Jay says, "One needs to maintain himself. Most importantly one needs to be mentally strong as these shows are real and not scripted. Situations are created and that's where all the fun lies." After taking a break for almost two months after Kayamath which got him fame, Jay was scared. But as he believes in quality and not quantity, he waited for the right project to happen and eventually took up Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. "Today I am confident about dancing. I want to explore more forms of dance but on my own not through reality shows," says Jay who gets "bored easily. I love to try different things." Like many other TV actors, Jay also plans to be a part of Bollywood So how does he deal with all the attention he gets from girls? He laughs and says, "I never forget compliments. There was a UK girl who once told me that I am a lady killer. I love to flirt with girls, I do it even with my co-stars but I am a harmless guy." But when it comes to his love life, he says, "I have a very sad love life. I can't be a typical boy-friend." |
