Kash - I agree with you for the most part regarding DMG, but I've a point to make, I'll prolly get killed for saying this , but I don't agree with some of your reasons regarding KTH being more popular KYM, specifically the competition reason - I remember even when KYM never had much or well any competition from Waaris or BV, it still used to come @ No. 10 position or No. 9... Contrast to KTH which used to be in the top 6 programs of the day!!!
I still don't feel KYM has as much competition as compared to the other K-shows, I mean there's only Waaris- which hasn't been doing well @ all, and no I really don't count BV repeat as competition - See, if it was the original show fine I would consider it to be a threat, but its a repeat - and it comes at 2000 in India where shows like Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat comes in Star Plus which aren't as popular as the other SP shows. This 2000 show normally has tons of viewers since it usually comes 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the trp chart, so I cannot fathom that there are more viewers watching the repeat of BV (when the original episode itself has gathered such a huge audience) than watching KYM itself...
So, I really don't think KYM is still leading the 11 pm slot, or atleast not leading it as consistently as before, because a repeat(not even the original telecast) of a show manages to beat it...
And I think the fault is of Star Plus, because I've failed to see even one promotion regarding KYM or Milinds return - I feel sometimes BT ignores this serial for their other ones perhaps due to this the audience is unaware of Milinds comeback... And I really do want to believe that its come back to top 10 material after Shabbo's return, but I've always believed in these trp charts when it indicated that KYM was @ position no. 6 or position no 8 or that it was in the top 10, that I feel it would be sort of hypocritical for me to say I don't believe this when KYM is shown to be absent from the top 20 list...
My other theory is that, before KYM used to be @ No. 18, but since they're showing Bidaai for an extra hour, that one slot, and its afternoon repeat are taking the next 2 positions in the trp chart, thereby leading to all the other programs to move down two spots......
Either way I'm not too fussed about this trps ka matter because I really don't believe a trp is indicative of the quality of the show (only popularity)... Because I remember Kyunki being in the No. 1 spot for a pretty long time when the show had some pretty mind-boggling and head-hurting tracks!!! 😳 Plus saas-bahu sagas ,which usually do well in the trp charts, are really not my cup of tea. And anyways my most favorite shows have never been a trp-chartbusters... except perhaps BV... I seriously think that once the show progresses, and more people are aware of MMs comeback, KYMs trps will improve and will come back to its original position!!!
