I believe that the reason Jay decided to quit was because he thought that the tracks will keep altrnating between him and Shabbo as in BT shows, the heroine get tossed around between the two heroes (except may be in KS). Unfortunately for him Michi became a huge success and Shabbo's towering presence could not be ignored. I think initially they may have planned an NP wedding after the divorce but the Michians hue and cry put paid to that.

like in kth......rajeev and shabbo were both given equal importance even if rajeev was the lead bt shabbo had a lot 2 du nd evrybody loved both and we all love jay too .....so it was a big mistake not makin him a couple wid ayesha they wud hav rocked bt not as hard as my michi!hehe

In the article I think what he meant that he was being sidelined for Shabbo and not by Shabbo. I don't think Shabbo makes any star feel sidelined. The guy is too gracious for that.

Opti that was never the case, it was never NP who were the jodi of KYM, and then the creatives experiment with MICHI to see how successful it was.... the ultimate jodi in question was always meant to be MICHI from the beginning till the end, this explains all the symbolism regarding MICHI in the show in the first few episodes .. Even before the show started, Shabbo was said to be in the lead role!!! Jay was never meant to play the lead role!!! This leads me to think that, this was all pre-decided, and not just done on the whims of which jodi is more popular with the audience now..... So the question of Jay being sidelined because of us Michians does not arise... becoz Neev started getting sidelined since Milind entered the frame in Turkey episodes - This was way before MICHI had become extremely popular and before we protested... which just re-affirms my theory!!!

KYM is just like KS that way... Neev is to Milind what Pushkar was to Jai... Bt thankfully the creatives developed Neev way better than Pushkar....

And,I think, poor guy thought he would get equal importance along with Shabbo after the MICHI love story reached the climax (with the C-Night) but they never introduced any tracks related to him.... it was always him saving or reacting to MICHI some way or the other!!! His character was just a means to an end, a way to further the plot!!!
