Om Shanti Om's actual plot revealed

Our Bollywood khabrus revealed to us the actual plot of 2007's most awaited release. The SRK starrer, Om Shanti Om, produced by the superstar himself and directed by Farah Khan, has a plot that intersperses popular yesteryear hits.

The khabru discloses, "The film begins with 1970 as the backdrop. Junior artist, Omprakash Makhija (SRK) loves a top actress, Shantipriya (Deepika) who in turn falls for the then reigning Bollywood big shot, Mukesh Mehra (Arjun Rampal). Despite being aware of Om's feelings, Shanti doesn't reciprocate. One night when Mukesh Mehra tries to take advantage of Deepika, she resists and slaps him hard. A furious Mehra stabs her in return. Om witnesses the scene and tries to save her, but gets stabbed in the back by Mehra in the scuffle. While dying Shanti finally reveals that she also loved Shah Rukh and in true filmy Romeo and Juliet style the unfortunate lovers die in each other's arms."

"Post interval, the story moves forward to 2007. SRK's character is re-incarnated as today's Bollywood star while Deepika plays the regular college-going girl. SRK is shown hallucinating about his past life (remember Karan Arjun…Prem?) It all leads to a musical climax ala Subhash Ghai's Karz where 65-year-old Mukesh Mehra comes face to face with the couple. There is also a tribute to the legendary song in the climax where SRK does a Big B again as he dances to a number that reminds us of Naseeb's John Jaani Janardhan song with popular stars making guest appearances," the khabru concludes.

If this plot is really true then Farah has ensured to pack in all possible Bollywood masala ingredients to make it a timepass entertainer.

We tried speaking to Farah about it but met with no response. The film releases on November 9 during Diwali and is expected to take a bumper opening.
