As Sanjay Dutt awaits his judgment in the '93 blasts case, one wonders he must be doing during these anxious times. Is he visiting temples all too frequently, doing havans at home or going to attend a social event? Or shooting for his films?
"We get together often. Sanjay is fond of cooking and he calls all his friends over to his house and makes the meal. He cooks some great mutton dishes like mutton korma and bhuna gosht", reveals the Kaante director.
Another source close to Dutt said, "He is his usual self, shooting for Gupta's Shootout At Lokhandwala and Indra Kumar's Dhamaal. At night he meets up with his friends and all of them have drink, dinner and fun." Well, the drinking part seems to be more prominent these days.
Also, not many seem to know that Dutt has developed a keen interest in music. He has learnt to play the guitar and the drums. Dutt and his best buddy and business partner Sanjay Gupta now are musical partners too. Very often Dutt calls Gups (as Sanjay Gupta is called by his friends), to his place and they have a concert in the night. "Sanju is a brilliant musician. He will compose music which I will use in my films. During the recording of Zinda, along with Vishal Shekhar, he had composed the background piece", says Gupta.
"He doesn't play film songs, but his own composed pieces. He looks so relaxed and at peace when he plays the guitar. In fact, he looks like a kid, free of tension. Now that he has learnt to play the drums, he goes dhak chik chik with glee", adds Gupta.
Recently, Dutt has even sung with Asha Bhonsle. And sometime in the future, Sanjay Gupta hopes to bring out an album with music and songs by Sanjay Dutt.
Post Munnabhai, Sanjay is going through his best phase in his career. Though films like Eklavya and Nehle Pe Dehle flopped, he walked away with the ceetees and the taalis. He is the big brother to the younger lot of heroes, and the king of the big screen.
