With Saif Ali Khan 's recent hospitalisation major Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan , Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt suddenly look concerned.
Here is SRK's take on stress and health: "It is a serious issue for sure, but let's not make Saif feel as if his world has come to an end. We are adults and are fully aware of our job's advantages and pitfalls. The stakes are high, so are the stress levels. And yes, sometimes the workload does get a bit more than a handful — meetings, shootings, press conferences, travelling, odd sleeping hours and Fridays. More than me, my family is always worried about my health. I have been trying to cut down on smoking for a while now. As for my other habits, I don't drink, have very simple eating habits and work out to strengthen my back whenever time permits. I don't waste my time getting depressed or attached to good things. Material things are not important — most important are prayers to Allah, and my biggest stress busters are my babies."
Ajay says that he has not cut down on my smoking habit: "I am not scared. Whatever has to happen will happen. It's not the first time an actor has been stressed out, so I don't even think it's a big issue. I've been told Saif's fine. Stress is a part and parcel of our lives. The only way to cut down on stress is to not think too much about it and balance your time well. People other than actors also lead stressful lives — even getting an education is stressful today! You have to cope and take care of yourself in the process. As far as cutting down on smoking is concerned, I have not thought about it yet but let's see. I am quite health-conscious and control my diet. I eat right and work out regularly. I take care of myself as much as I can."
But Dutt is trying to lose weight: "It's true that actors lead stressful lives, but we are also aware and take measures to lessen the stress as much as possible. Knowing that my sleeping and eating habits are irregular, I try to maintain discipline. I work out regularly and also keep a tight control over my food habits. For lunch, it's mostly boiled chicken and vegetables for me. I had to put on weight for my role in Eklavya , but in the last few months I have lost the extra pounds, as it is detrimental to my health and can lead to illness. As far as smoking is concerned, I'm aware that I smoke a lot and I have been trying to cut down on that for some time now. It's difficult, but I am sure I will succeed."
