I don't have only six friends!

Ladies and gentlemen... boys and girls... welcome back to KBClive.

Have you had a good week?

And boys and girls, have you been studying for your exams?

Thanks for all your great responses to the Valentine's Day special... I've been getting some great feedback so I'm happy I'm made you smile.

But a lot of people are also asking me why these six?

Well let me tell you it's not because I have only six friends in the industry and it's not because I only talk to these six! I basically wanted to design the programme in such a way that I can show the different ways that we can celebrate love. And therefore I invited these different combinations.

Arbaaz is one of my oldest friends from the industry. In fact his entire family was very nice and kind to me. When I came to Mumbai I didn't have any cooking arrangements or kitchen so I used to go to their house and all of them – Arbaaz, Sohail, Salman, Salim uncle … they were all so nice. And then Arbaaz got married to Malaika. Malaika and I go back a long way – she did her first movie with me and from then on our relationship has only gotten stronger. We live close by and meet up often.

They are a great couple. Farhan and Zoya are again a very intelligent duo. They are also very keen on games especially board games. Often we all sit and play for long hours. I felt this would have been a perfect place to invite this brother – sister to match their wits.

And what can I say about Farah and Karan – they are like family to me. No, in fact they are family. Even when we work together, it's never like work. We all love to sit together and have a laugh. And the way you saw things on the set is exactly how we are off it too. We just can't help ourselves. We just can't be serious! So therefore I invited these three couples – I felt it was a great way to get some of my friends together and above all it's for a great cause.

So all in all I think we had a great day keeping in mind the essence of Valentine's Day of spreading love and joy!

On that note I'm going to leave you today but I promise to be back next week.

Till then have a great weekend and look after yourselves.

I love you...

A lot of juggling this week…

Ladies and gentlemen….boys and girls… thanks for coming back to me on KBClive.

I hope you and your family had a great weekend. Mine was quite good although I spent large amount of it planning my week… This week is going to be quite hectic for me as I have to finish a bank of KBC episodes including the Holi Special – and let me tell you this Holi rocked! (more on that in a few days)- plus I have my son's sports' day which I will be attending as well as other commitments.

What do you have planned this week?

Also before I go I wanted to let you know that I am reading all the messages you all are leaving for me. I do read them as often as I can - it's nice to know that I entertain so many people all over the world. It's not an easy job – but I love it and thank you all once again!

Have to run now but I'll see you soon… I'll be waiting for you.

I love you…

Shah Rukh's getting gifts and it's not his birthday!

Guess what? It's not really Shah Rukh Khan's birthday or even a special occasion. But the Khan's den Mannat, is inundated with gifts. And guess where they're coming from? From all the contestants and audiences on his game show. They come with posters, post-cards, memorabilia, and other assorted tohfas. Which they keep handing out to their favourite Khan and he doesn't have the heart to refuse or leave them behind on the set. So he takes them home and puts them in a corner of his den.

Now with spring coming up, we wonder what Gauri will throw out first – the gifts? Or (if he doesn't get rid of them) Shah himself!

Rani Mukherji and Preity Zinta to play 'Holi' on KBC with Shahrukh Khan

Mumbai, Feb 17: Shahrukh Khan really created a wonderful Valentine's Day on the newly launched Kaun Banega Crorepati, and now he is planning the same for the 'Holi'. It is said that he will host the show on 'holi' with two sexy ladies on the hot-seat, Rani Mukherji and Preity Zinta.

One advantage of having Bollywood's reigning superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the host on STAR Plus' popular game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) is he can convince all his buddies to come to the hot seat.

After the star-studded Valentine's Day special, Shah Rukh has just recorded yet another special episode for KBC. This time it's for spring festival of Holi, featuring his two co-stars Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji. The episode went off like a charm. A source from the set told IANS: "There were rumours about a fallout between Preity and Rani who were once best friends. But Shah Rukh has a special knack of making all his heroines feel special." "Earlier this week on 'Koffee With Karan' Shah Rukh actually made Kajol and her cousin Rani - who self-admittedly don't socialise together - sit together on one sofa and be civil to each other. Now on KBC, Preity and Rani got along like a house on fire." Though the exact prize money won by the two leading ladies is not known, the sources said they won close to Rs.50 lakhs together.

SRK and I have a secret pact: Big B

Rajeev Masand
CNN-IBN

Mumbai: The talks about rivalry between Bollywood's Badshah Shah Rukh Khan and Big B Amitabh Bachchan have been inevitable ever since it was announced that SRK would take over the 'hot seat' from the ageing icon in Star TV's reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati 3.

So what does Amitabh think of SRK's performance on KBC 3?

CNN-IBN's Entertainment Editor Rajeev Masand caught up with Big B and spoke to him about his much talked about rivalry with King Khan and the new KBC.

Rajeev Masand: Are you surprised by all the attention and interest that seems to exist about your supposed rivalry with Shah Rukh Khan?

Amitabh Bachchan: I'm not surprised. I know this is all a media build and therefore we take it very lightly and play along.

Rajeev Masand: Do you find yourself being provoked very often to answer all these sensational questions just keep the controversy going?

Amitabh Bachchan: Yes I actually said it in one of the programmes that you have no idea how much these TV channels are paying us to keep this war going. Shah Rukh and I have a little secret pact.

Rajeev Masand: The last time I asked you whether you had seen KBC 3, and you said didn't have the time...

Amitabh Bachchan: But now I have.

Rajeev Masand: And what do you think?

Amitabh Bachchan: It's fine. It's a wonderful format actually. And Shah Rukh is doing a fine job. He has made it very light hearted. My brief when I was doing it was that it has to be dramatic, suspenseful and full of character, which is what I did. But he is fine.

Rajeev Masand: They say that the ratings of KBC 3 are nowhere close to that of the time that you did it. A lot of people ofcourse feel that KBC is just not the same without you.

Amitabh Bachchan: Yes?

Rajeev Masand: You don't think so?

Amitabh Bachchan: I think if anyone did KBC it would be successful because of the format is good. It has been running successfully in 80-90 countries across the world. I'm not doing that and neither is Shah Rukh. So what is the reason? The reason is that the game itself is very powerful.

KBC News - KBC, SRK help bridge borders

Pakistani fans tell KBClive about their experience in India.

Tonight's episode has a special audience. It includes a group of Pakistani students who were in the city for an educational trip decided to forget about their education and decided to attend the shooting of KBC instead.

And like always SRK seems to have struck a bond with the teacher heading the group. "You know he stands for so many things. Hard work. Respect. Success. He is just the example I want to give my kids back home in Pakistan. And it's not just him… everyone here in India have been so good to us and I want to tell everyone at home that what we hear sitting there is nothing like what things are actually here."

One of the students says now she understands why her grandmother misses India so much. "My granny would always tell us things about India. She would miss it a lot and she often told me stories about your country. But then we would read other things in the papers and on the news. Now when I have come here and met the people of your country I can relate to her. I will always remember India and how well I was treated here."

"And if I feel so strongly in just a few days then I can understand the older generations who have lived here for most of their lives," she adds.

"People here – on the sets – and out on the road … everyone has been so hospitable and polite and nice to us. I'm surely going to go home and tell everyone how good India is. You know they say seeing is believing and today I have truly realized that," says the youngest beautician.

KBC News - Another crash on KBC

Hafeez Nawaz crashed to 20,000 rupees last night

Last night witnessed yet another crash for a contestant on KBC. Hafeez Nawaz Khan who had come to the sets with great expectations and hopes for himself dropped from 1, 60,000 rupees to a mere 20,000.

Hafeez, who had met SRK earlier during the shoot of Koyla, was quite disappointed at his loss. "Obviously I'm upset at losing the money and I do wish I had quit at that point. But if I had known I was wrong I wouldn't have selected it in the first place."

On reaching the Hot Seat, Hafeez said he would have invested his 2 crores in a trip to space with SRK. Sadly though after his loss he said he was quite happy to have met King Khan.

"I'm surely disappointed to go home with just 20,000 rupees. But I got to meet and spend time with Shah Rukh and that was a great joy for me. I won't ever forget this experience," he says with a disappointed smile.

KBC News - Khan's generosity doubles!

Khan gives not one but 2 watches this time!

Shah Rukh Khan is developing the reputation of being a softy at heart both in his reel life and real life. Finding it difficult to see his contestants go empty handed especially when the crash is of a significant amount.

Last night Sakharam Chopde, 48, from Buldana reached Hot Seat. Sakharam, whom SRK fondly calls Bapu, wanted to use the prize money for his two daughters' marriages. Being the father of a daughter himself, Shah Rukh, struck a special bond with Bapu and his wife who had accompanied him to KBC.

Bapu played brilliantly throughout the programme and steadily reached the 25 lakhs mark. However, that question left Bapu in doubt and he decided to flip the question. The next question was quite tough and Bapu gave the wrong answer thereby losing almost 50 per cent of his winnings and had to settle for 6,40,000 rupees.

Feeling bad for his loss Khan decided to gift him two watches for his daughters as well as 2 autographed photographs of himself in return for a promise – that Bapu would invite him for his daughters' wedding!

Shah Rukh says the watches, which are worth close to 90,000 rupees each, are a "wedding gift for the girls from him."

If only all of us could have such sparkling marriage gifts!

Why is Gauri scolding Shah Rukh?

by Debasis Jana

Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan is in a mess now, especially when he's coming back to his home after spending a hectic hour on KBC sets, he's not getting a very warm welcome from his beloved wife Gauri. Gauri is apparently scolding him for bringing all petty gifts to home. But SRK doesn't know what to do.

Actually contestants and audiences in KBC are leaving no stone unturned to come near to its new host Shah Rukh and giving gifts is one of the easy ways they are doing to meet him. The gifts include posters , postcards and other petty things and Shah Rukh doesn't want to leave the tokens of love behind him in the studio. In stead, he brings them back home. We heard, Gauri has warned Shah Rukh not to bring all these gifts. She has told him clearly that she isn't going to store all the things in his home. It wouldn't be looking very nice, if Gauri throws all his 'tokens of love' into the bin, better he leaves them in studio.
