I watched till they got married in tere bin shalzie; then I had to drop it. I hated teh ML. thought he was a terrible piece of work. him being handsome did not win me over. 😆
mere ban jao actually has a serious underlying message. if you want to see what gaslighting and manipulation looks like, watch the series. the villani guy will give you headache

I don't even find him handsome!🤣I do not understand what people are seeing which I am not. But for now, I am enjoying it.
Will definitely watch mere ban jao if it's about gaslighting. Unlike you guys who are very well-informed nowadays, I learnt about gaslighting too late.
hahahaha... I do! but only when they are comic variety and liven up the show itheir eye rolls and one liners... 😆

Did you watch Yakeen Ka Safar? I am touched by that show. It was like reading a book on screen. I thought that Zindagi Gulzar Hai was a one-off but now I have YKS also.
hahahaha... I only learned about gaslighting because it happened to be a buzz word a year or two years ago. everything according to fans (on various shows) was gaslighting. I was like "what is this word?" and then looked it up. then I watched the black and white movie from which the word came -- and found out most people in the internet have no idea what that word really means. they just randomly use it. 😂
but yea, definitely watch this serial to see a master manipulator and gaslighter in action. he is creepy to the core!!!

I learnt about love bombing also! I think that kids should be taught all this stuff around the age of 12-14 years old. Knowledge can protect people from really unpleasant or even horrific situations

kushi -- yea, I am not sure why we are not getting any dhak dhak moments at all. is it because we are used to seeing the tropes play out in a certain way? are the poems supposed to stand in and induce dhak dhak. do the makers think mature love story means no dhak dhak? I don't know.....
Hmm... i guess there are all sorts of romantic. Our problem that we don't connect to how it is shown here....
but yea, I have been wondering the same on why katha is always working late. wasn't she the one who negotiated for a better work life balance? and yet, she is always late and it is dodo who is taking care of the house. free cook, free housekeeper and free babysitter!!!
She is not even on-site, so definitely she can take work home. Instead we always see her as the only other person in a completely deserted office, getting home in the late hours. Work-life balance is not for her, its for others!
and no idea, why she doesn't want to take papaG's car -- guess we are meant to see her as independent but is taking stuff from family a bad thing? 🤷
Well papa should put her in a house next to the office. That way she won't need the car! How can taking a bus, train, auto be faster? I am totally lost here. The makers have focused enough on her independent streak, i mean, on one hand she needs a Dodo to mange home and Aarav - where is the independent woman now? On the other, she rejects help from all under the guise of being independent and always managing on her own. Then what is family for? To drop in and say hello?😲 Oh, mamaG sent food for Aarav. How is that ok? I would like to see her accept their help gracefully. After all, they are trying to bring a bit more ease into their daughter-in-law and grandson's life!

M, I had to come back to this post.
I watched beyond the wedding. Excluding his entry and the scene where he slapped the FL, there is no scene which made me dislike the ML. In fact, he has mostly shown consideration and maturity. The FL is the one acting out due to the circumstances she finds herself in.
I kept wondering whether you and I watched the same show🤣
Or probably the headache giving villains🤣
The ML in Tere Bin is very sensible, he couldn't get himself out of the feudal landlord system in PK and had to give up on his dream of becoming a wildlife photographer.
ML is endearing and actually forgives the FL for all her crimes, including giving him food which causes anaphylaxis due to his love towards her.
The inconsistencies with plot is because writer Nooran Makhdoom has included a lot of slap scenes for the ML, but Wahaj Ali the actor playing ML refused to slap and the resultant anger reaction of FL hasn't been changed. Hence, the FL anger seems out of place.
The show initially has both on the same footing but the realisation of love happens to the ML earlier than the FL and he's an amazing person.
I relate with what you are saying for excluding the two scenes which I mentioned, I never saw him go overboard. In fact, my interpretation is that FL feels secure in his presence and hence is taking out her anger on the only person who is actually bearing it and standing by her side.
He kind of grows on you. I am still not convinced that he's handsome but he's endearing🤣
I don't mind the drama with the other family members so long the plot moves forward. Moreover, this is not a weak FL who will submit. It's fun watching her.
