in contrast, I feel katha as a character is a bit of slouch when it comes to dressing. just my personal feel but I didn't see any outfit that was really interesting. only one I liked was the dark blue outfit they wore when they went for dinner but I just liked that for the indigo colour. otherwise, nothing interesting about it per se.

I guess I’m the only one who liked the grocery store outfit. 😆😆 For some reason I kind of liked it cause it looked comfy and strangely stylish to me. But I get what you mean in general about the outfits. One outfit I really liked was the matching baby pink blazer and pants that Katha wore during the Dubai trip. And I think the hairstylist is doing a really good job though.

Indowestern also flatters the Indian body types which tend to be more curvy.

Grocery outfit looked bizarre to me because from top it looked meant for comfort but who wears jeans at night 🤔

Katha’s best outfit so far imho - Dubai meeting wali

She does dress like she is conscious of the working environment but she personally prefers comfort over fashion though she is not a slob. She is certainly aware of kahan kab kya pehenna hai, hence the silk desi suit for the Garewals party, the nice Blazer outfit for Dubai mtg, the neat trouser tucked in shirt for Chandra interview.

I like her vibe. But like Viaan, I dont like her black holdall type bag 😂

I just watched the episode. And I loved it like everyone else in the forum. What a dhamaka episode before the weekend!! 😆 I loved the confrontation scene as well. Katha’s dialogue on how Viaan decides who to respect (how her being a single mother means she deserves respect, but not as a single woman) is so true. He got a reality check on his dangerous beliefs on women. After this confrontation, I swear Viaan will never think of humiliating another woman again.👏

Like everyone said, the “paap” and “Bhagwan” dialogues were a bit much I thought. The interesting point is that Adnan stated clearly in an interview that Viaan is NOT religious. So I am not sure if these dialogues have a deliberate meaning/intention in leading Viaan towards religion? But I am not sure about this.

One thing I loved in the episode is how Viaan asked Jenny to process Katha’s resignation, saying that if she is not willing to work in Earthcon, then they should respect that. I want to see this respectful Viaan in the future episodes!! There was some maturity in that which is just attractive. I’m sure that Katha will also soften up if Viaan continues to show this respectful side of him. But I can’t wait to see Viaan win her over.

Also, I love the conversations we have in this forum.🤗 Trust me, it would not be as fun for me to watch the show on my own without this forum. 😆😆

I just thought the red top made her look short. 🤣 more than the cut or the length, maybe the print wasn't right for her -- aditi is on the shorter side.

So on Ethnic day where we have to wear some kind of traditional dress,i wear kurta with jeans. Otherwise long skirt with traditional top with heavy jhumkas. and i call it indo-western look.😆

recently for a wedding, I didn't have any sari blouse and no time to stitch. so I did what you do. found a long silk skirt but no top as I no longer fit. (problems of putting on weight. 😂). shopped for a top. I was planning to just go with that but my mom was like it is looking strange without a dupatta and wouldn't let me leave. so I scrounged around in the cupboard and took a random dupatta from another salwar set. jazzed it up with jewelry and went off. since it wasn't family wedding, I could cheat like that. 😂

for twinklestar, this is what a kurti skirt set can look like:

to be honest, I was surprised by the baby pink blazer and pants but not for reasons you might think -- recently my cousin sister was complaining about how expensive these formal western wear is. she wanted to get a blazer for her pre-teen daughter and the jacket alone was really expensive. then if you add in matching skirt or pants, then it pushed up the price even more.

formal western wear can be limited to more high-end retail. so my cousin sister decided it simply wasn't worth it because she could a few outfits for that same price and went for just a top and skirt (mix and match) at a mid-price retail. so you could possibly get it cheaper if you stitch the blazer but even then I don't see too many women going to stitch blazers.

one, it is way too hot here to wear blazers. even men don't wear blazers unless it is some formal board meeting type or a posh wedding. otherwise, it is formal dress shirt even for men at work. so not many invest in blazers.

thats why I was surprised to see her in a matching set... I was thinking to myself -- she has cash to invest in blazer??? since aarav was sick, I would have expected her to go for more affordable clothing that she can just pick up at any mid-point retail.....

true! the kurta tends to hug your bust and hips and gives you a shape, plus hides the fat which you have. 🤣

but there are also uniquely indian problems with indowestern wear. one problem is we don't have uniform sizes in india anyway. NIFT (national institute of fashion technology) has been working on some govt project for years to try to come up with some size model but that has been stalled for years. we have regional variations when it comes to body shape and that is one reason, there is no pan-india size.

so brands just do their own thing which can be a pain. as someone who is in between sizes, I would never shop online because I really want to check the cut and fabric before I buy something. in one brand, I will be L, another XL, another XXL. either the shoulders are too big or the bust is too small or not enough material to cover your hips or it just hangs on you and makes you look bigger than you are. so indowestern wear can be great but you do need to pay attention to the cut and the fall of the fabric -- just my experience.
